Review: LUNA Protein Berry Greek Yogurt Bar

LUNA was a big start of review in the early days of the blog and over time, I've cranked out seventeen past reviews (as of this writing).  Primarily designed for women, I've decreed that it's okay for men to eat them too, thus I happily eat them. A recent trip to Kroger allowed me to discover one of their new (to me) flavors and I snatched up this LUNA Protein Berry Greek Yogurt Bar for $1.25.  The bar itself clocks in at 1.59 ounces and 170 calories with twelve grams of protein. It's gluten free for those that are so inclined as well.

Review: Gatorade G Series Prime Honey Oat Fuel Bar

I frequently see Gatorade's foray into nutrition bars sitting on the shelves of my store.  I've had varying success with them in past reviews, but it seems like the flavors never change.  Upon a recent browsing of Kroger, I happened to notice a flavor of bar that I hadn't seen before, so that led me to snatch up this Gatorade G Series Prime Honey Oat Fuel Bar for today's review.  This bar clocks in at 2.1 ounces and packs in 220 calories and five grams of protein.  Unlike a lot of their previous products that I've reviewed, this bar is neither huge in size nor is it a huge calorie bomb.  Basically, this abandons everything I've come to expect from Gatorade bars as this one is certainly more modest.

Review: Promax Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar

There's a movie that came out a while back called "This Is The End" starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, among others.  Well, when I grabbed this bar out of the refrigerator, I thought of that movie because this review truly is the end (FINALLY) of the free samples that Promax sent to me quite a while ago.  It's taken me forever to work my way through these, but with today's review, I end up with a look at this Promax Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar.  The bar itself clocks in at 2.64 ounces and has 290 calories with twenty grams of protein.  It is also gluten free for those of you that have that dietary need.

Review: Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars

Several months ago, I received a four boxes of a variety of bars from Good2Go.  Well, it's taken me several months, but I am FINALLY ready to wrap up the reviews of what all I received in those boxes as I take a dive into this review of the Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars.  As you can see from above, there are eight bars per box and each bar clocks in at 2.47 ounces.  What you can't see is that each bar has 298 calories and a fairly robust 18 grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, so it's got that going for it.

Review: Promax Nutty Butter Crisp Protein Bar

I've been remiss in adding more product to my Promax review collection.  What makes that really pathetic is that I was given a batch of free samples and it has taken me forever to get through them.  Well, today is another addition to that collection (only one more free sample to go) as I take a look at this Promax Nutty Butter Crisp Protein Bar, which is one of Promax's original flavors.  Hooray for that, I suppose.  It's also a bulky protein bar that clocks in at 2.64 ounces and has 300 calories with twenty grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, kosher and vegetarian, so it could be eaten by a wide variety of audiences (I'm trying to spin as much as I can to being positive today).

Review: Gatorade G-Series Recover Mint Chocolate Crunch Whey Protein Bar

It's been over a year since I've hit up a Gatorade bar review and quite frankly, the thought of reviewing another one of their bars didn't particularly excite me.  Still, I recently saw a flavor in the store that I hadn't seen before (how many posts have started that way?), so I decided to grab this Gatorade G-Series Recover Mint Chocolate Crunch Whey Protein Bar off the shelf of my local Meijer for about $2.00 (can't remember the exact price) and give it a shot.  Each bar is a robust 2.8 ounces and packs in 350 calories and twenty grams of protein.  If you are an athlete and we want to discuss this in athletics analysis terms, this bar is for you...ON PAPER.

Review: Promax LS Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Protein Bar

I was sent some free samples of Promax bars a few months ago and I've done a really shoddy job making my way through the samples.  I've touched on some of them, but there are still three others sitting by waiting for me to review them.  So, here we are today as I take a look at one of those bars in this Promax LS Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Protein Bar review.  The bar itself is 2.36 ounces and packs in 240 calories and eighteen grams of protein.  It's made with Stevia, thus the lower sugar, and it's also gluten free, kosher and vegetarian.

Review: Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars

Some time back, I received several boxes of Good2Go bars as free samples for reviews.  I've hurriedly looked at a couple of flavors in prior reviews, but I've put aside the remaining two flavors for a while as I addressed other products.  Well, I'm back and now it's time to knock out these remaining two flavors of free samples.  So, here we are with this box of eight Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars.  Each bar in the box is 2.47 ounces and has 298 calories with eighteen grams of protein, so there's definitely some girth here.  It's also gluten fee, so it does have that going for it if that is something that you are looking for.

Review: Good2Go Almond Chocolate Chip Protein Bars

In my last Good2Go review, I mentioned my history with the "G2G" tagline but I'll refrain bringing that up again just to spar you the insanity (stupidity) of my life.  Instead, I'll just dive into today's review where I obtained these Good2Go Almond Chocolate Chip Protein Bars via a free product sampling via the company itself.  There are eight bars in a box and each bar clocks in at 2.47 ounces and a precise 298 calories (I'll spare that diatribe again too) with eighteen grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, seemingly as an increasing number of products are.

Review: Good2Go Peanut Butter Fruit Nut Protein Bars

So, another day, another freebie.  I love them and can't get enough of them and if you are a regular reader to the blog, you've heard me talk about them all the time.  Recently a company reached out to me regarding some free bars and I naturally accepted without even really thinking about it.  When the bars arrived, I looked at the box above and saw "G2G" and immediately though of the instant messaging acronym of "got to go" that my sister always used to drop on me when she was trying to drop me from a conversation.  Turns out that G2G in this case means "Good2Go", which certainly is not as defeating as the acronym that was in my mind.  My failures as a conversationalist aside, I tore open this box of eight Good2Go Peanut Butter Fruit Nut Protein Bars to get ready for a review.  Each bar in the box is 2.47 ounces and has a peculiar and exact 298 calories.  Not often that you see a company be that exact with their measurements, so that amused me.  There is also eighteen grams of protein packed in here, so this is definitely the protein bar that it proclaims to be.

Review: Zone Perfect Salted Caramel Brownie Nutrition Bar

I'll admit that I don't pay much attention to the Zone Perfect bars when I'm in the store.  Perhaps I've got it stuck in my head that I've exhausted all their flavors in reviews or I'm just bored by them...I'm not sure, although I'm guessing it's more of the former than the latter.  Anyway, I was prompted to take a look at them again recently when I was given a Free Friday Download digital coupon from Kroger and when I did look, I found this Zone Perfect Salted Caramel Brownie Nutrition Bar, which is one that I've never looked at before (or noticed).  This comes in at 1.58 ounces and has 200 calories with eleven grams of protein.

Review: Promax LS Salted Caramel Protein Bar

I mentioned a while back that Promax had sent me some bars as free samples to review and while I've gotten to some of them in reviews, I haven't really been rushing to get everything done.  I don't know why, but that has been the case.  Anyway, I figured today was as good as any to knock out another one of those bars, so that leads me to today's review of this Promax LS Salted Caramel Protein Bar.  LS means lower sugar and this bar is also lower carb, so there's that.  That also means that for a fairly large 2.01 ounce bar, this one only packs in 180 calories.  Within that is a robust eighteen grams of protein, so this is "packing", so to speak.  It's also gluten free and kosher, so there's some positivity.

Review: Fiber One Protein Cookies & Crème Bars

It dawned on me recently that I let the fourth anniversary of this blog pass without any recognition either here on the blog or me actually recognizing it in my head at the time.  Well, even now that we are several weeks past the anniversary of the initial review, I think it is worth noting and also contemplating how long I've actually been writing for this blog and also how many products I've actually reviewed (over 1,000, which I recognized earlier this year).  Like I've mentioned plenty of times, I never thought the blog would go this long and while my love for it sometimes wanes, I'm glad to be here and want to keep this going as long as I can (the extra income is obviously not bad either).

Anyway, today's review is a review of a manufacturer that I've examined many times.  It's another new Fiber One product off the General Mills assembly line that I was able to pick up at Meijer for $2.50.  This box of Fiber One Protein Cookies & Crème Bars happens to have five bars in each box and each bar clocks in at 1.17 ounces and packs in 140 calories and six grams of protein.  I know they call this a protein bar, but when it only packs in six grams worth, doesn't that seem kind of silly?  Regardless, let's dive into the review.

Review: Bodybuilding Warehouse Rich Chocolate Premium Protein Cookies

Well, this is a first.  I've never had a U.K.-based company contact me with a free product offer but that happened recently and that leads me to this review.  Oddly, even though this a U.S.-based blog, I get a fair amount of readers based in the U.K.  Not sure why or how, but it does happen.  Anyway, Bodybuilding Warehouse (maker of bodybuilding supplements) contacted me and today's review is of the Bodybuilding Warehouse Rich Chocolate Premium Protein Cookies.  Since it is the U.K. and they use the metric system, I can tell you that my cookie was 75 grams.  Using my wonderful Google machine, I have found out that this is 2.65 ounces in the U.S.'s antiquated, but AWESOME, standard measurement system.  Within that cookie is 326 calories and a WHOPPING 37.5 grams of protein.  Holy moly.  I could probably get more muscular just from looking at this cookie, much less eating it.  But, eating it is what I am here to do, so here we go.

Review: Promax Lemon Bar Protein Bar

I mentioned in a previous Promax review that a representative of theirs was kind enough to reach out to me to offer my some flavors of some sample bars.  Today's review is another one of those reviews as I'll be diving into one of Promax's original product offerings in this Promax Lemon Bar Protein Bar.  It's a protein bar, so it's on the bulky side at 2.64 ounces and within that bulk is 290 calories and twenty grams of protein.  Now, just because it is bulky doesn't mean it's bad because it's also gluten free, kosher and vegetarian.  Honestly, I would not have anticipated that.  Of course, I probably wouldn't have thought of it, but now that I know, I'm mildly surprised.

Review: OhYeah! Cookie Caramel Crunch Bar

I hadn't realized it (probably because I hadn't thought about it), but it's been a really long time since I've reviewed an OhYeah! product.  I mean, with a fun name like that and a wrapper that states "Unprecedented Taste", how could I not keep reviewing these bars?  Actually, that's an easy one to answer...there weren't any other flavors available in my local stores.  Kroger recently added OhYeah! products and in doing so, added a flavor that I haven't looked at before so for one whole dollar, I picked up this OhYeah! Cookie Caramel Crunch Bar.  This one's gluten free and weighs in at 1.59 ounces, packing in 180 calories and fifteen grams of protein.

Review: Promax LS Chocolate Almond Protein Bar

Recently I was contacted by someone associated with Promax protein bars asking me if I'd like to get some free samples to review for the blog.  They then asked me what flavors I'd like and after looking at the archives of the blog, I realized two things.  First, I haven't reviewed a Promax bar in a really long time (December 2013) and second, I haven't done many Promax reviews at all (only three).  That surprised me because I thought I had done more.  Anyway, I got my free samples and today's review of this Promax LS Chocolate Almond Protein Bar is the first in what will be a numerous amount of Promax reviews coming in the future as I work my way through these bars.  Today's bar is 2.01 ounces and clocks in at 190 calories with eighteen grams of protein.  It's lower sugar (LS) and that means that it's made with 75% less sugar than a comparable protein bar.  In case you have dietary restrictions, it's also gluten free and kosher.

Review: NuGo Slim Brownie Crunch Bar

NuGo has had nearly a one year rest in reviews on this blog. so it's been a while.  Mostly that's been because I haven't been able to find any other flavors in my usual haunts.  Some time back, I took a voyage to Fresh Thyme and picked up a lot of different bars for reviews and this was one of those bars.  Finally, I'm getting around to taking a taste of this NuGo Slim Brownie Crunch Bar that I was able to pick up for $1.89.  The bar itself is gluten free and also clocks in at 1.59 ounces with 190 calories and sixteen grams of protein.

Review: Raw Revolution Spirulina Dream Organic Live Food Bar

This blog is often about the continuing education of the Crazy Food Dude.  Today's review is one of those educational moments because when I saw the name of this product, I had NO CLUE what the heck it could mean.  So, a simple Google search provided me a little background on this Raw Revolution Spirulina Dream Organic Live Food Bar that will add to my smallish Raw Revolution review series.  What I learned is that spirulina is a dietary supplement that can come in many forms.  In the case of this bar, it comes in powder form and adds protein and other nutrients.  The bar itself is also gluten free, kosher, organic (obviously) and vegan.  It clocks in at 1.8 ounces and 230 calories with seven grams of protein.

Review: CLIF Builder's Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Bar

Let's face it...hazelnuts are kind of weird.  They pop up in products in all sorts of places, but I don't believe they've every truly been adopted as a beloved nut like almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc.  Quite frankly, I'm not even sure I like them.  One thing I know that I do like though is the hazelnut flavor syrup that I occasionally put in my morning coffee and I mostly like Nutella, so based on those, I am always intrigued when I see a new hazelnut product.  That curiosity about hazelnuts led me to add another CLIF review to this blog today with this look at a new product offering in this CLIF Builder's Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Bar that I was able to pick up at Kroger for $1.00.  Each bar is 2.40 ounces and builds in (get it?) 280 calories and 20 grams of protein.
