Review: Purely Decadent Dairy Free Peanut Butter Zig Zag Frozen Dessert

I talked previously about my dairy free frozen dessert splurge, so I'll spare that story again.  What I will say is that I picked up this pint of Purely Decadent Dairy Free Peanut Butter Zig Zag Frozen Dessert at Kroger on sale for $3.00.  As learned in my last review, Purely Decadent comes from the same place as So Delicious dairy free products, so this gets added to that family of reviews.  Simple third grade math tells me their are four half-cup size servings in this pint and each serving comes in with 230 calories, half of which are fat.  So, despite the fact that this is dairy free, it certainly is not missing the fat content or calorie load compared to a dairy product.

Review: Purely Decadent Dairy Free Turtle Trails Frozen Dessert

Sometimes sales will cause me to do crazy things.  For example, recent sales at Kroger have caused me to go on a dairy free dessert run and pick up several pints of frozen desserts that are made with soy milk.  Today's review is one of those sale splurge purchases as I picked up this pint of Purely Decadent Dairy Free Turtle Trails Frozen Dessert on sale for $3.00.  I guess I wasn't paying attention when I bought this, but after reviewing that linked website, I learned that this Purely Decadent product comes from the same manufacturer as some of the So Delicious products that I've reviewed on the blog previously.  Each pint contains the usual four half-cup servings and in this instance, it's a dairy-free 180 calories per serving.

Review: So Delicious Pomegranate Chip Coconut Milk Dairy-Free Frozen Dessert

In my Kroger iPhone app, there is a selection add e-coupons to your phone.  I'm a coupon freak, so this is right up my alley.  There is always a coupon for So Delicious coconut products in there, so sparked by that coupon (and a closeout special price), I finally decided to redeem my coupon and pick up a pint of this So Delicious Pomegranate Chip Coconut Milk Dairy-Free Frozen Dessert at the closeout price of $2.99.  Ordinarily, these pints cost in the six dollar range, so I stay away.  Always the deal hunter though, thought this was the perfect time to snatch it up.  Each pint contains the obvious four half-cup servings and each dairy-free serving is a modest 130 calories.  Not too shabby.  There's also a variety of other health-related benefits as well, such as this product being vegan, gluten free, organic, etc.
