Review: Blue Bunny / Cadbury Caramello Ice Cream Bars

I've touched on Blue Bunny's partnership with Cadbury before but I'll hit it again here real quickly.  Basically, Blue Bunny has acquired the rights to use the Cadbury name and recipe on their frozen dessert products here in the United States so that they can co-brand and take advantage of the big Cadbury following by trying to pattern this after the Caramello candy bar (a personal favorite of mine).  As a person that works in marketing outside of this blog, I can appreciate co-branding, even if  it is as silly as the Google Android and KitKat co-branding that you may have seen in your stores.  Anyway, armed with a coupon and a sale, I was able to pick up this box of eight Blue Bunny / Cadbury Caramello Ice Cream Bars on sale at Kroger for $2.99 (that was pre-coupon).  Each bar in the box is 1.6 fluid ounces and 160 calories, so it's a snack size bar as the box and my fuzzy picture (sorry, shaky hands) indicates.

Most of us are familiar with Cadbury Creme Eggs (the American version made by Hershey's, not the actual British version made by Cadbury itself) and while they are available frequently here in the United States, they mostly get their big publicity around Easter, for obvious reasons.  That said, they do license out their chocolate recipe/flavor to the masses and ever the opportunists, Blue Bunny decided to take advantage of that famous Cadbury chocolate recipe and incorporate it into one of their frozen dessert products with these Blue Bunny / Cadbury English Toffee Ice Cream Bars that I picked up on sale in a box of eight at Kroger for $3.99.  Each bar in the box is 2.1 fluid ounces and 160 calories.
