Review: Walden Farms Russian Salad Dressing

A comment on a past Haagen-Dazs post mocked me for complaining about the cost of Haagen-Dazs products and yet ignoring the fact that my "beloved" (their word) Walden Farms products are sometimes equally or more expensive.  True, guilty as charged as I've clearly done a lot of Walden Farms reviews and only rarely have complained about the cost. Since I do love Walden Farms for some absurd reason, I'm led to review another one of their products with this Walden Farms Russian Salad Dressing review.  I picked up this twelve ounce bottle at Marsh for $3.50 and as always, it's sugar free, calorie free, etc.

Review: Walden Farms French Onion Dip

If you've spent any time reading this blog, you'd know that it is no secret that I have written a lot of reviews on Walden Farms products.  What can I say...I love the whole idea of calorie free foods, although that may not be 100% truthful.  Regardless, my quest for more and more calorie free foods led me to make another order from Netrition.com where I picked up this jar of Walden Farms French Onion Dip for $3.99.  It's twelve ounces and is of course calorie free.  I can say though that a product modeling itself after a dip that is a party mainstay makes me exceptionally curious to try it out.

Walden Farms keeps me extremely busy on this blog as I've done a plethora of reviews.  One of the problems with doing that many reviews on the same manufacturer is that I sometimes run out of ways to write an intro, which is something that I've lamented before.  So, I'll stop trying to be "cute" here and I'll just dive into the review of this Walden Farms Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing.  I picked up a twelve ounce bottle of this for $3.69 at Kroger and as with all Walden Farms products, it's calorie free, sugar free, etc.

Review: Walden Farms Alfredo Pasta Sauce

In the world of pasta sauces, I chose tomato (red) sauce over Alfredo (white) sauce about 98 times out of 100.  Just my personal preference, but after one of my many Walden Farms reviews where I reviewed their abysmal Walden Farms Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce (posted yesterday), I decided I'd give their Walden Farms Alfredo Pasta Sauce a try even though I wasn't expecting a lot based on my prior review.  Like the last, I picked this up at Kroger for $3.69 and it's twelve ounces.  Like all Walden Farms products it's sugar free, calorie free, fat free, gluten free, etc.  As always, it's a miracle of science.

Review: Walden Farms Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce

Of all the Walden Farms reviews that I've done on this blog, I think my favorite was my review of their Walden Farms Tomato Ketchup.  It wasn't my favorite because it was so good, but instead because it was so awful and it caused me to write a post loaded with vitriol and disdain for the product.  I don't think I've ever hated something as much as I hated that, so I was hoping that this review of the Walden Farms Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce would save me from thinking that all Walden Farms products modeled after tomato based on products suck.  I picked this one up on sale at my local Kroger for $3.69 and it's twelve ounces, zero calories, sugar free, etc.

I was at a family gathering recently and my brother started talking about his diabetic son and how it was difficult for them to find sugar free products for him to eat.  Up until that point, I had thought of my Walden Farms reviews as appealing to the dieters of the world, but it never crossed my mind that my reviews could be read by diabetics looking for sugar free products that would allow them to eat more like a "normal" person.  I'm glad that aspect was opened up to me because I had started to get bored of reviewing Walden Farms products all the time, despite the fact that I like them a lot.  So armed with this new lease on life, so to speak, I'm led to this review of the new-ish Walden Farms Chocolate Peanut Spread.  I picked this up via Netrition.com and it was $3.79 for the twelve ounce jar.  As always, it's calorie free, sugar free (relevant to this intro), etc.

It's funny, on the day that I am actually typing this review (I do most of them well in advance), I've got a Walden Farms review up on the blog.  When I take a look at the Walden Farms review history on the blog, I've done somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty reviews, depending on when you read this.  Based on that sheer volume of reviews that I have done, I think I've got a pretty good handle on Walden Farms products and while it that review archive will continue to grow, I pretty much know what to expect when reviewing these products.  Somewhat acidic taste (some stronger than others), high sodium content, calorie free, gluten free, fat free, etc.  Basically, these products are miracles out of a science lab and it's no different with this Walden Farms Creamy Italian Salad Dressing.  I picked this one up at Netrition.com for $3.79 and it's a twelve ounce bottle.

Review: Walden Farms Bacon Dip

A little while back I was on Netrition.com making a large purchase of new Walden Farms products to try out, some of which I've reviewed already, and while perusing the list, I saw a new dip that seemed unimaginable to me in a zero calorie form.  That dip was none other than the Walden Farms Bacon Dip and since I didn't see how this was possible, I knew that I had to add a jar to my order to try it out.  Like I said, I got this off Netrition.com for $3.79 and each twelve ounce container is zero calories, sugar free, etc.  Basically, is the same old, same old for Walden Farms.

Review: Walden Farms Original Barbecue Sauce

Review: Walden Farms French Salad Dressing

When I was growing up, I had an obsession with French dressing (and also ketchup).  When I wasn't putting ketchup on something, the chances were pretty good that I was using French dressing instead.  I even came up with a food creation that I found delicious at the time, but am now repulsed by the fact that I used to eat it.  This concoction was a slice of white bread topped with a slice of American cheese (unmelted) and then doused with a healthy amount of french dressing or Catalina dressing.  For some reason, I found this delicious and can't figure out why.  Anyway, I don't like French dressing as much now as I did then, but I still like it and that leads to this review of Walden Farms' attempted at French Salad Dressing.  I picked up this sugar and calorie free twelve ounce bottle from VitaCost.com (via Amazon.com) for $3.64.

Review: Walden Farms Grape Fruit Spread

I've reviewed several of these Walden Farms fruit spreads here previously and now we are onto another, the Grape Fruit Spread.  There's not a whole lot to these, so I'll dispense with the long intro and get to the cold hard facts:  I picked this up VitaCost.com via Amazon.com for $3.69.  Each 12 ounce container is calorie and sugar free and is made with "Natural Flavors."  Hmm, well, who am I to argue.

Review: Walden Farms Cinnamon Raisin Peanut Spread

Several weeks back in a post about Walden Farms Apple Butter Fruit Spread, it was discussed how Walden Farms had recently come out with a several new spread products and one of those products was a Cinnamon Raisin Peanut Spread.  While I just find their regular peanut spread to be okay, the thought of cinnamon and raisins combined with their peanut spread had me wanting more and since I have a love of Walden Farms products and have reviewed many of them, I knew I had to get my hands on this new offering since my favorite way to eat oatmeal is by adding cinnamon and raisins, so I clearly love the flavor combination.  Since it is not available at my store, I went searching online and found a twelve ounce jar at Netrition.com for $3.79, placed my order and there it was at my doorstep within three business days.  Big props to Netrition for quick shipping time.  Anyway, as with all Walden Farms products, this is calorie free, sugar free, fat free, etc.

Review: Walden Farms Tomato Ketchup

First things first, I am OBSESSED with ketchup.  There are many foods that I eat that I don't particularly care for (eggs), yet I eat them only as a form of a ketchup delivery system.  Not only do I put ketchup on my eggs (and lots of it), I use it outside of the norm in other ways too.  I use ketchup as a dip for fried chicken, put it on crackers and chips, put it on spaghetti (admittedly, I took this idea from the movie Goodfellas), put it on vegetables, etc.  Basically, I'll put it on anything, although I've never put it on ice cream, nor do I think I ever will.  That said, when I saw that Walden Farms offered a sugar free and zero calorie version of Tomato Ketchup, I said that I had to give it a try.  I knew I was playing with fire with this one, but hey, I'll try just about anything.  I picked up this twelve ounce container for $3.69 at Kroger, by the way.  So, with a sense of terror in my mind fearing how my beloved ketchup could be ruined, I plodded on.

Review: Walden Farms Apple Butter Fruit Spread

On my Walden Farms Caramel Dip post, a commenter mentioned that they run a health food store where they allow customers to try out Walden Farms products prior to buying them so that they can determine whether they want to fork over the cash for the sometimes costly products.  Personally, I think that is a great idea, but since not everyone has access to those kind of well run stores, my goal is to review as many Walden Farms products as possible on this blog and that leads me to the Apple Butter Fruit Spread that I picked up via Amazon.com (they were the re-seller for VitaCost.com) for $3.75.  I LOVE apple butter, so after I made my order and received it on my door step, I was VERY anxious to try this one out.  This container is twelve ounces and like all Walden Farms products, it is both sugar and calorie free.

Review: Walden Farms Blueberry Fruit Spread

If you ever take a look at the Walden Farms website, you will notice that they have a TON of products.  Since I am always looking for ways to "cheat" and eat things that contain no (or minimal) calories, there's a good chance that at some point I'm going to try every single thing that Walden Farms has to offer and I've done that many times already.  The problem is that a lot of these products aren't available to purchase in my local grocery store, so that leads me to my first online food purchase from Amazon.com.  Amazon sets up a portal for several retailers (in this case it was VitaCost.com) to market/sell their products and I picked up this twelve ounce container of Blueberry Fruit Spread via that portal for $4.49.  That's more than I'd like to ordinarily spend for a Walden Farms product, but I was curious, so sue me.

Review: Walden Farms Caramel Syrup

If you ever take a look at the Walden Farms website, you can see that they have A LOT of calorie free products.  Because of this and my propensity for saving calories, you are going to see A LOT of reviews on these products and next on the list is the Caramel Syrup.  If there's one thing I love, it is caramel flavored food, so this one was right up my alley.  I picked this twelve ounce container up at Kroger for $3.69.

Review: Walden Farms Chocolate Dip

I've heard positive reviews on this Walden Farms Chocolate Dip before (check out Heidi's comment in my WIBIA post), so I was initially anxious to try it out after that post.  That was some time ago and I've had this probably three different times since then as I was hoping for different results since the taste of some of these Walden Farms products vary from container to container (check out the first Anonymous comment in my Marshmallow Dip review).  I picked this one up at Kroger for $3.49.  As with all Walden Farms products, it's calorie and sugar free and I'm always a big fan of that.
