Review: Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato Pops

I'm late to the party on this one, but several months ago, Talenti went outside their normal pint of gelato arena and introduced a line of gelato pops to the market.  I've hit on the pints several times before, but this is my first venture into the pop world with this review of these Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato Pops that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $3.00.  Each box of these contains three individually wrapped pops that each come in at a weight of 3.0 fluid ounces and contain 170 calories.

Review: Talenti German Chocolate Cake Gelato

I mentioned in a previous review that Fresh Market has moved into my neighborhood and with them has come several new Talenti flavors that my normal grocery stores do not carry, which is a nice change of pace.  It's the aforementioned two-for-one sale that allowed me to pick up this Talenti German Chocolate Cake Gelato for roughly $3.00 (normal price was $5.99, but I got two pints for that amount).  Each pint contains the classic four half-cup size servings and each serving comes in at a hit of 240 calories.  It's also gluten free, vegetarian and kosher if you are into that kind of thing.

Review: Talenti Argentine Caramel Gelato

I've mentioned previously that a Fresh Market store has recently opened in my neighborhood and where these Fresh Market stores differ from my typical grocery store is that they carry more gelato products than the typical store does.  On my opening weekend visit, they had several gelato products on sale and that included this pint of Talenti Argentine Caramel Gelato that I was able to pick up in a two-for-one sale.  Typical price was $5.99, but obviously I got this pint for half of that since I picked up two so that I'd have some new flavors to add to my review catalog.  This pint itself is is four half-cup servings and each of those servings comes in at 200 calories.

Review: Talenti Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Gelato

I see news releases all the time that Talenti is releasing new flavors, yet I never see them in my local grocery stores due to the fact that my local grocers keep tight inventory controls on the Talenti.  It's frustrating and I've learned to live with it, but that's why I don't review Talenti flavors here on the blog as frequently as I'd like.  That said, I was recently in Kroger and I saw this pint of Talenti Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Gelato on sale for $2.49 and I knew I had to snatch it up.  It's not a new flavor as it's been out since early 2012, but that just shows how tight the inventory controls This pint contains the typical four half-cup servings and each serving clocks in at 230 calories.

Review: Talenti Southern Butter Pecan Gelato

In the early days of the blog, I hit up Talenti products for reviews quite a bit.  Since then, I've mostly stayed away (it's been almost a year; WOW) for a couple of reasons.  First of which is that my stores just don't change out their varieties very often.  Second, and perhaps most important though, is that that they are seemingly never on sale and their regular prices are just not something I want to pay for a pint of any dessert, no matter how good it may or not be.  So, on a recent trip to Kroger, both of my excuses were blown out of the water as I noticed that for the first time in quite a while, my Kroger had switched out its flavors and added this Talenti Southern Butter Pecan Gelato to the collection as this was a flavor introduced the world this past March.  The sale price for this pint was $3.50 and with four half-cup servings inside, each serving measured in at 210 calories.  It's also all natural, gluten free and kosher, so it's got all sorts of goodness going for it.

Review: Talenti Caribbean Coconut Gelato

Gelato is something I've come to later in life after wandering through the wilderness.  My first taste of gelato was a Talenti product and I've really only had Talenti and maybe only one other gelato manufacturer in my life.  Even with that limited experience, I can say that I like it as my previous Talenti reviews have proven.  With that positive past history, I'm ready to dive into another gelato review with this review of Talenti's Caribbean Coconut flavor.  Coconuts are another flavor that I've come to enjoy later in life after disliking it most of my life, so coconuts and gelato mixed together is kind of like the perfect merger of my "mature" tastes.  Not sure I feel comfortable referring to myself as mature, but I did pick this pint up at Meijer on sale for $3.50 and it's a relatively tame 190 calories per serving and as always, there's four servings per pint.

Review: Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch Gelato

One of my early reviews on the blog was of Talenti's Sea Salt Caramel Gelato and I loved it, but for whatever reason, since then I have not done another Talenti review or even had any Talenti gelato for that matter.  Not sure why, but maybe I was waiting for it to go on sale or had other things on my mind, but armed with a coupon from their Facebook page and also a sale at Meijer, I was ready to pick up another couple pints for reviews.  For this first review, I'll be reviewing the Caramel Cookie Crunch gelato that I picked up for $3.50.  Each pint contains four 220 calorie servings.

Review: Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato

If you have visited this blog before or read even semi-regularly, you can probably figure out that I'm a sucker for frozen treats, especially ice cream.  It takes every fiber of strength that I have to not walk through the ice cream aisle at the grocery store on a regular basis (I usually lose and end up doing it anyway) and recently on a trip through the ice cream aisle at Meijer, I saw a sale on Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato for 50% off and decided that I HAD to pick up a pint when it was such a great deal (regular price is $4.99).  As you can see, I was so "desperate" for this Gelato that I ate half the pint before I remembered to take a picture.  Oops.

For those of you that don't know what Gelato is (don't feel bad, I didn't know until about a year ago; yeah, I'm a rube), it's very similar to ice cream except that it has less butterfat and more sugar.  Calorie-wise, this was was 240 calories per serving and each pint contains four servings.  I don't know how pints can claim they are four servings, but that's a rant for another day.
