Review: Planters NUT-rition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter
Armed with another freebie that this time was provided by the My Coke Rewards program, I headed out to my local Kroger to grab another sample from the Planters NUT-rition peanut butter line with this jar of Planters NUT-rition Energy Mix Berry Nut Peanut Butter. My last Planters review of the NUT-rition peanut butter line was met with very high expectations that were ultimately let down, so I was a bit more subdued as I head into this review. Before I get started, I better cover the nutritional information, so this one has 180 calories per two tablespoon serving and there's about ten servings per twelve ounce jar.

Review: Planters NUT-rition Energy Mix Cinnamon Raisin Granola Peanut Butter
For regular readers of the blog, I think I've conveyed my thoughts on peanut butter many times before. For newer visitors that have not visited the site before, I'll spell it out for you: I LOVE peanut butter. I can't control myself around it and have in fact placed it on my personal "do not buy" list. That said, I found my way to a Planters Facebook promotion where they were giving out samples of their new NUT-rition Peanut Butter products and being the whore for free products that I am, I of course grabbed up a free product voucher. Planters sent me my voucher a couple weeks later and I trudged to my local Meijer to pick up my free jar of this Planters NUT-rition Cinnamon Raisin Granola Peanut Butter, which they've deemed as part of their Energy Mix portion of NUT-rition products. I've reviewed several Planters bars before, but this was my first foray into their other products. It's twelve ounces and each jar contains about ten servings of this "healthy" peanut butter and each two tablespoon serving is 180 calories.

Review: Planters NUT-rition Digestive Health Bar
Well, I now have something to brag about...I'm faster than Mr. Peanut and his webmaster. I've done Planters reviews before, so when I went searching for a product information page for this new bar (check the box), I logically went to the Planters website and found absolutely nothing. I found a link to the actual mixed nut mix, but not to the bar itself. So, I guess this Planters NUT-rition Digestive Health Bar is so new that not even the Planters team can keep up. Lucky me. Anyway, I picked up a box of five of these bars on sale at Meijer for $2.50 and each bar is 1.23 ounces and 150 calories with four grams of protein. It's also high in dietary fiber, so the bar is obviously designed to help you down there, if you know what I mean.

Review: Planters Triple Nut Big Nut Bar
Mr. Peanut has quite a track record on this blog. I've had a couple of his bars and have liked all of them. While this Triple Nut Big Nut bar technically is not a "health" bar, but instead a snack bar, it doesn't truly fit the mission of the blog (at least health wise), so I'll classify this one as comfort food in that it's a high sugar and unhealthy treat. Although, nuts in moderation are healthy, so it's somewhere in between ice cream and a Planters Antioxidant bar that I've reviewed before. Anyway, I was on the road for a convention in San Jose (thus the different look in the pictures), so I picked this one up at the Marriott gift shop at my hotel, so the $1.49 price is probably not relevant to the outside world, although I was presently surprised that it was that low. The remainder of the statistics on the bar include 1.62 ounces, 220 calories and seven grams of protein.

Review: Planters NUT-rition Energy Bar
Planters knows peanuts, so in the least shocking development of all time, they have a line of Nut-rition products that focus on peanuts. I've already reviewed the Antioxidant bar before, so this time I'm taking a look at the Energy bar version of the Nut-rition line. I picked this up in a box of five for around $3.00 at Meijer. Each bar weighs 1.23 ounces and is 170 calories with five grams of protein. That seems like a small amount of protein for something based on nuts, but I'm not a scientist, nutritionist or particularly smart, so I can't tell you exactly why that is the case. One other thing that I find funny is that the packaging specifically says that this is a "Chewy Nut Bar" yet aren't nuts supposed to be crunchy? Weird.

Review: Planters NUT-rition Antioxidant Bar
Hey, the first Planters review! This bar is part of their NUT-rition line of products (they also have mixes in jar form, etc.) and this one is formulated as the Antioxidant blend. The Antioxidant blend consists of almonds, blueberries, cranberries, peanuts and coated in dark chocolate. I'm not going to play amateur scientist here, but I'm guessing that blend is good for your antioxidants. Anyway, it's 160 calories per bar and I picked this up as part of a five pack box at Marsh for around $3.50 (I think, it's been a while).
