Review: Promax LS Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Protein Bar

I was sent some free samples of Promax bars a few months ago and I've done a really shoddy job making my way through the samples.  I've touched on some of them, but there are still three others sitting by waiting for me to review them.  So, here we are today as I take a look at one of those bars in this Promax LS Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Protein Bar review.  The bar itself is 2.36 ounces and packs in 240 calories and eighteen grams of protein.  It's made with Stevia, thus the lower sugar, and it's also gluten free, kosher and vegetarian.

Taking this out of the wrapper, it's clear that this is not the prettiest bar in the world.  In my opinion though, I'm more concerned with flavor that I am with appearance and as long as something tastes fine, I can get over how it looks.  I may eat with my eyes, as they say, but I mainly eat with my taste buds, so that's what matters.  Anyway, the bar itself is a interior protein mix that is laced with peanut butter.  On top of that mix and below the peanut butter coating are a scattering of peanuts (or maybe they are soy crisps...I'm not very bright). which definitely made this somewhat more interesting to look at.  Outside of that, the bar did carry a nice nutty peanut smell, so that was enticing and encouraging.

Biting into this, I was immediately met with a hit of nutty peanut butter and it was quite nice.  There was a slight hint of sweetness in here from a bit of honey that is included in the ingredients too.  In terms of texture, it did resemble cookie dough and when wrapped all together, this was eerily reminiscent of the cookie dough for a peanut butter cookie.  That's what Promax was going for here and that's the feeling that I got, so that was a win on their part.  Outside of that nice peanut butter flavor and texture, there was nothing else going on here, so it's a short review.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Promax had a winner here.  Not the most outstanding bar by any means, but a very good and very tasty one.  For that, this gets a strong BUY IT rating.  If you find this one in the store, it's a very viable protein bar alternative that is not as much of a calorie bomb as the typical protein bar.  It's quite tasty too.  Double win!

BUY IT!!
