Review: CLIF Builder's Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Bar
Let's face it...hazelnuts are kind of weird. They pop up in products in all sorts of places, but I don't believe they've every truly been adopted as a beloved nut like almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc. Quite frankly, I'm not even sure I like them. One thing I know that I do like though is the hazelnut flavor syrup that I occasionally put in my morning coffee and I mostly like Nutella, so based on those, I am always intrigued when I see a new hazelnut product. That curiosity about hazelnuts led me to add another CLIF review to this blog today with this look at a new product offering in this CLIF Builder's Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Bar that I was able to pick up at Kroger for $1.00. Each bar is 2.40 ounces and builds in (get it?) 280 calories and 20 grams of protein.

Review: CLIF Builder's MAX Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar
Pardon the horrible attempt at humor here, but I think that since CLIF has two versions of Builder's bars, one of which is called MAX, the other should have a name change to MINIMUM or something like that. Don't you think? Yeah, that's probably not going to happen and that is a ridiculous observation on my part. Anyway, with today's review, I'll be diving into another review of one of the MAX bars with this review of the CLIF Builder's MAX Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar that I picked up at Kroger for $1.50. This bar definitely does push the maximum as it is a behemoth of a bar clocking in at 3.4 ounces with 380 calories and thirty grams of protein. Yep, this is the one you eat when you want to build some solid and hardcore muscle.

Review: CLIF Builder's MAX Caramel Peanut Protein Bar
When I first started this blog, I ran through full-blown protein bar reviews all the time. Eventually, my stores started running out of varieties and I started getting bored with them, so I only review them sporadically now. It's one of those sporadic times (and a free sample) that leads me to another CLIF bar review with today's review of their new CLIF Builder's MAX Caramel Peanut Protein Bar. This incredibly robust, muscle-building bar comes in at a hefty 3.4 ounces with 390 calories and thirty grams of protein. Fittingly, there's a guy lifting weight on the wrapper, but my first thought was that was what was required just to lift this bar, not to mention actually eat it.

Review: CLIF Builder's Chocolate Chip Protein Bar
One of my main complaints in past CLIF Builder's bar reviews has been that the bars themselves have tasted fine, but for what you are paying, you are really getting no more than a Pure Protein bar for twice the price and that is not cool. So, when I get a free Builder's bar from CLIF like I did with this CLIF Builder's Chocolate Chip Protein Bar, I'm more than willing to do another review because this doesn't hurt my wallet in any way and I can avoid that price remorse bias. Anyway, this bar is the CLIF standard of 2.4 ounces and has 270 calories with 20 grams of protein. Somehow, this is a new flavor (when they sent it to me), which I find to be pretty funny since chocolate chips are one of the most basic flavor profiles out there for these bars.

Review: CLIF Builder's Chocolate Mint Protein Bar
I've mentioned on this blog before that I'm not the world's biggest fan of the chocolate and mint flavor combination. In fact, Mint Chip ice cream is one of my lest favorite ice creams of all time. That said, I have had some luck with chocolate and mint combinations in previous reviews. So, with my biases intact, I begrudgingly was ready to take a look at another CLIF bar review with this review of the CLIF Builder's Chocolate Mint Protein Bar. I picked this one up at Meijer with a coupon that put its price in the $2.00 range. It came in at the CLIF standard 2.4 ounces with 270 calories and since this is marketed as a protein bar, it had twenty grams of protein. It's entirely all natural, so that is nice if you are in to that type of thing. Via this blog, I've proven that I don't necessarily care what kinds of science products I put into my body, so that doesn't make a huge difference to me.

Review: CLIF Builder's Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar
My comprehensive review of all things protein, including CLIF bars, leads me to the CLIF Builder's Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar. I picked this one up with a buy one get one coupon at Meijer and it factored out to about $1.67 for the bar with the coupon. The hard numbers on this protein bar include a weight of 2.4 ounces (pretty much CLIF standard), 270 calories and twenty grams of protein. For you natural lovers out there, this one's entirely natural as well.

Review: CLIF Builder's Vanilla Almond Protein Bar
It's the entirely natural protein bar! Actually, I don't doubt that, I just find that a funny tagline on the front of the packaging. Anyway, here is another bar in CLIF's line of Builder's protein bars, the Vanilla Almond bar. The first bar I had was quite tasty, so I was looking foward to this one as well, especially since I not only like vanilla and almonds separately, but put together, this sounded fairly decadent. Each bar clocks in at 2.4 ounces, which is typical CLIF Bar size and contains 270 calories with twenty grams of protein. I picked this one up for roughly $1.70 at Meijer (I had a buy one, get one free coupon, so that is an approximate price).

Review: CLIF Builder's Cookies & Cream Protein Bar
If you were to take a look at CLIF's website, you'd see that they have a ton of different products (I've reviewed several) and because of that, I'm lead to the Builder's bar line and specifically the Cookies & Cream flavor. Builder's bars are CLIF's entirely natural line of products aimed specifically at the protein bar market. I picked this one up for $1.69 at Kroger and the under the hood details include 2.4 ounces by weight, 270 calories and twenty grams of protein.
