Sometimes when you buy too much of a particular manufacturer's products, you end up with situations like the one I had today where I'm writing a review of a Chobani product on the day that a previous Chobani review gets posted to the blog. That's happened countless times, but it never ceases to amuse me for some reason. Digression aside, today's review allows me to hit up this 5.3 ounce cup of Chobani flip Coffee Break Bliss Greek Yogurt that I was able to pick up at Kroger for $1.29. With in the split section cup are 190 calories and twelve grams of protein. It's also kosher and vegetarian, if you are interested.
As with all flip products, this is setup to have the Greek yogurt in one side and the mix-ins in the other side. In this instance, the Greek yogurt was a tan-colored and semi-thick mix, as you can see above. In terms of smell, it smelled faintly of coffee, but it wasn't too overwhelming like your freshly brewed cup of Folgers is in the morning (it's the best part of waking up!). The other side was filled with tiny chocolate chips and also broken up biscotti pieces. And when I say broken up, I mean broken up. They were pulverized into dust.
My first duty was to try out the low-fat coffee yogurt and it took a bit to get used to. The coffee flavor was mild, but it was sort of odd. Once I had a couple tastes though, it was fine. The flavor wasn't bitter and the coffee part of it was sort of cancelled out by the Greek yogurt flavor. Still, I would definitely classify this as interesting. Next up was trying the mix-ins and I can say that the biscotti "pieces" (crumbles) had an interesting cinnamon-like taste to them. I can't say I expected that. The chips were as I'd expect. Mixed together, this all was a mix of a hit of morning coffee, with a cinnamon infusion. Basically, it's as Chobani intended (I assume)...you are dipping your biscotti into your morning coffee.
Buy It or Fly By It? It takes a minute to get used to, but once I did, I enjoyed this and this is coming from someone that is only so-so on coffee-flavored food products. Enjoyment earns a BUY IT rating. If you want to try something a little different or genuinely enjoy coffee-flavored products, then this will be right up your alley.

Hi! Did you see that Chobani changed their Coffee Break Bliss to Coffee BROWNIE Bliss??
ReplyDeleteI loved it as Coffee BREAK Bliss, but I do not like the Coffee BROWNIE Bliss. The biscotti crumble has changed, they added a mocha brownie that gives it a weird flavor. I'm so disappointed.
