Review: Dannon Oikos Traditional Key Lime Greek Yogurt

I mentioned in my last Dannon review that it was my first time trying out one of their Oikos Traditional products and since I'm a binge purchaser, I of course picked up several of these at one time for reviews.  That binge purchase leads me to another dessert inspired Greek yogurt product with this single serving cup of Dannon Oikos Traditional Key Lime Greek Yogurt that I picked up on sale at Marsh for $1.00.  Each cup is 5.3 ounces and this one had 160 calories and eleven grams of protein.

As I would have expected even prior to opening this up, there's not a whole lot to look at in this cup.  It's a faintly smelling yogurt (with that typical Greek yogurt smell) that is mixed with a faint smell of key lime.  The yogurt itself was a light green color and really the only thing notable about this was that the Greek yogurt itself was particularly thick and creamy.

In terms of flavor, it was about as basic as the look of the product.  I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it was about what I expected, with one key difference...there wasn't really any Greek-type tartness flavor in this at all.  It was just a little bite of key lime within a cooling and creamy yogurt.  Outside of that, there wasn't a whole lot else going on with this.  Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking to have the socks knocked off your feet, you should perhaps look elsewhere.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Basic presentation, basic flavor, but tasty flavor gets this a BUY IT rating.  Like I said, nothing about this will re-define your life, but if you are looking for a decent key lime flavored product, I think this is a good solution for you.

BUY IT!!
