Review: thinkThin Crunch Chocolate Dipped Mixed Nuts Bar

In one of my previous reviews, I reviewed basically this same bar with the exception that it was white chocolate based instead of milk chocolate based.  So, despite the fact that they are similar and that this bar appears to be in the old packaging, I'm still going to dive into this review of thinkThin Crunch Chocolate Dipped Mixed Nuts Bar.  I picked this up at Kroger on sale for $1.00 and it's 1.41 ounces with 190 calories and ten grams of protein.

Obviously I've already stated that this is milk chocolate dipped and when I took this out the the wrapper, there was a wonderful milk chocolate smell that permeated my nostrils.  I'm not sure there's a better smell in the world than that.  Anyway, on top of that milk chocolate dipping was the mish-mash of mixed nuts, soy crisps and various syrups.  The nuts involved in this bar were peanuts, almonds and cashews and all were clearly visible, amply spread and quite large.  The crunchy junkie that I am always immediately falls in love when I see that.

Biting into this bar, I was immediately struck by the saltiness of the nuts, which was surprising because I didn't remember that level of saltiness from the white chocolate bar.  The saltiness was so potent that it immediately made me thirsty.  What saved that from being too much though was the sweet milk chocolate which while not only melting in my mouth and coating the crunch of this bar with decadence, was also quite sweet, which was definitely needed.  I mentioned the crunchy nuts already and if I had to pick which nut was the most potent of all the flavors, I'm not sure I could.  I will say that the peanuts and cashews definitely announced themselves and that was quite wonderful.  When those announcements were covered in wonderful milk chocolate, well, that's a recipe for success.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Everyone always talks about how sweet and salty is such a wonderful flavor combination and ordinarily, I disagree.  I typically prefer sweet OR salty, but rarely sweet AND salty.  In the case of this bar though, it's one of the few times that I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed sweet AND salty because this was the perfect representation of how that flavor combination can work together.  For that, it gets a BUY IT rating.  If you see this in the store (with the new, clear packaging) and love that flavor combination, this is definitely one that you'll want to snatch up.

BUY IT!!
