Review: Honey P. Nutty Chunky PB Bar

There are no secrets on this blog...at least when it comes to peanut butter.  I love it, I would bathe in it, it's one of my favorite things in the world.  It's especially my favorite when its chunky peanut butter and being that I'm doing another Honey P. Nutty review on just that, I'm beyond excited.  With that, I got this Honey P. Nutty Chunky PB Bar directly from the manufacturer and it's 1.8 ounces, 251 calories and has seven grams of protein.

As with all the Honey P. Nutty bars that I've tried, this one starts out with a cornmeal base.  While I still find that odd, I don't find it to be negative in anyway because it does add a slight degree of sweetness and chewiness to each bar, which is nice.  Outside of the cornmeal base is a honey, which makes this bar somewhat sticky and sweet smelling and also a helping of extremely chunky peanut butter.  As you can see above. there are huge peanut chunks throughout the bar, so those chunks certainly do a load of justice to the name of this bar.  That peanut butter mix is also quite strong smelling, so if you are a peanut butter weirdo/freak like me, your eyes will roll back in your head in glee.

Biting into this bar, it has the typical cornmeal softness and sweetness that is they mixed with the thick and hearty qualities of the peanut butter.  The cornmeal mix itself is chewy, but that is broken up frequently by those huge peanut chunks that I mentioned previously.  The peanut butter mix itself isn't particularly sweet, but it didn't need to be with the sweetness of the cornmeal.  In a bizarre way, even though there was no caramel, this flavor and texture of this bar reminded me of a PayDay candy bar.  One thing of note in this bar is that while sea salt was a listed ingredient, it really did not have a salty taste to it at all, which is different than the other Honey P. Nutty bars that I've tried.  The "PB" itself was so strong that it cancelled it out.

Buy It or Fly By It?  I love PayDay candy bars and based on that alone, I should LOVE this bar.  I wouldn't say that I loved it, but I did like it quite a bit, so it gets a BUY IT rating.  It's basically just chunky peanut butter and nothing else, but that's okay.  If you want peanut butter flavor, this is a very good option.
