Review: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Blueberry Cookie Crumble Greek Yogurt

Another day, another Chobani product.  Well, maybe it just feels that way since I bought several all in the same shopping trip.  Anyway, today's review is of a new product that I picked up for $1.25 at my local Kroger.  This Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Blueberry Cookie Crumble Greek Yogurt clocks in at a diminutive 4.2 ounces and packs in 100 calories with ten grams of protein.  It's also all natural, kosher and vegan.  Pretty brief intro today, but's all I've got to say for now since I can't come up with anything particularly creative.  Call it Chobani fatigue.

This one comes in the two piece design in that the blueberry Greek yogurt is in one compartment and the other compartment is filled with the mix-ins, which in this case include dried blueberries and oatmeal cookie pieces.  I will say that the blueberry Greek yogurt was surprisingly runny (it did have a faint blueberry smell) and the mix-ins were almost laughable because there were so few of them.

Taking my first spoonful, I immediately attacked the Greek yogurt and what I got was something that was very runny, fairly dry and only had a slight taste of blueberry.  What blueberry flavor there was ended up being masked by the dryness of the yogurt.  I then went for the mix-ins and the dried blueberries tasted as I'd expect them to.  The oatmeal cookie pieces did have faint oatmeal cookie taste, but they were mainly stale and bland.  When I mixed everything together, it was just a mix of blandness, although the texture differences were nice as the blueberries made this chewy and the cookies made it crunchy.

Buy It or Fly By It?  I loved the idea of this going in, but after having finished the container, I've got to say that I was pretty bored by this.  Not that it was bad, but it wasn't good enough for me to give this a positive rating, thus the FLY BY IT rating that I'm going to saddle this with.  If this is the only flavor available to you, I suppose its okay, but when there are other flavors as there almost always are, I would steer you in that direction.

FLY BY IT!!

  1. First of all the quantity is so small, you would have to eat four to get any satisfaction. The dried fruit is too hard, especially the blueberries, and the you girt is sour, not sweet. I bought ten on sale and tried three or four flavored, they were so gross, I put whipped cream in them, and they were still lousy. Threw them all away, because no one at work wanted them, and I work in a restaurant, asked five co-workers, and they all said no
