Review: MunchPak.com Snack Box

Today's review is an interesting one for me.  It's a review of not necessarily the individual products (there will be some quick looks though) in this review, but more of a review of a service.  In this case, that service is MunchPak.com.  A representative of theirs reached out to me a couple weeks ago and asked if I'd be interested in trying their service and since I'm always on the lookout for freebies (ahem...if anyone out there has any that they'd like to send me, I'm game), I more than willingly said I'd give the service a look.  So, after a bit of time the United States Postal Service delivered me the box of goodies that you see above.  There were a variety of products in there, including chips, candy, gum, etc.  Basically, all sorts of different kind of munchies (get my clever word usage there?).  What was also interesting, and the MunchPak website advertises this with their slogan of "New & Popular Snacks From Around The World", a lot of these snacks were from various countries.  When I looked through the box, there were some snacks from Mexico, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Indonesia, etc.  It was kind of funny to me, in a way.

MunchPaks can come via a monthly delivery subscription service and also come in various sizes, meaning the quantity of snacks in your box.  As you can somewhat see based on the picture above, I got the "Original" version which includes 10-20 snacks.  I'm not going to review everything, but let's take a look at some of the products in the box below the fold.

Cheetos Jumbo Colmillos:  A product of Mexico.  Described as "Super Spicy and deliciously scary monster "fangs" cheese puffs are delightfully fun and tasty."  I wouldn't have described them as fangs (even though that is what Colmillos means in Spanish), but instead would have described them as Chester Cheetahs claws.  Regardless, these were definitely super spicy and really knocked me out each time I went for them.  The rest of it was just a standard Cheetos puff in a different shape.

Ginbis Dream Animals Biscuits Butter Flavored:  A product of Japan, these were just normal old animal crackers in a slightly more buttery form, which you could definitely notice.  What I found simultaneously interesting and funny about these was that each animal cracker was stamped with its English name on the front.  LOL.  I'm not sure why, but I'm still laughing about that one.

Barcel Takis Zombie Habanero and Cucumber Tortilla Chips:  Another product of Mexico and certainly the most interesting of everything I found in this box, in my opinion.  What I will say was that the flavor was amazing.  The cucumber and habanero were definitely present.  They were both mild and appealing initially but then the habanero came on late and these were HOT.  I definitely needed a quick drink after just a few of these.  It was wild.

Haribo Teeth:  A product of Germany and by far the creepiest and most frightening thing I found in this box.  Honestly, I was scared to take these out of the packaging.  Seriously, a package full of gummy teeth starting at me?!  Yikes.  Other than that, they were pretty much gummy chews that had a fruity flavor.  It seemed to be strawberry to me or even cherry, but I couldn't really tell.  Either way, they were still weird.

Chiki Balls Cheese Flavor:  Product of Indonesia (?!).  These were pretty boring, actually.  They were just cheese puffs.  The cheese flavor was fine, but there was nothing memorable about these other than the fact that it is hilarious that they manufacture and sell cheese puffs in Indonesia.

Buy It or Fly By It?  If you've got the cash and the curiosity, this is definitely for you.  For that, I'll give this a BUY IT rating.  I was beyond amused by some of the products in here and while I didn't describe all of them for you above, I will say that some were very good and some were very weird.  Either way, I'm glad that MunchPak was so generous to share.  If you want to be part of the monthly fun, do not hesitate to signup via their website and your first box of goodies will soon be on its way!

BUY IT!!
