Review: Bodybuilding Warehouse Rich Chocolate Premium Protein Cookies

Well, this is a first.  I've never had a U.K.-based company contact me with a free product offer but that happened recently and that leads me to this review.  Oddly, even though this a U.S.-based blog, I get a fair amount of readers based in the U.K.  Not sure why or how, but it does happen.  Anyway, Bodybuilding Warehouse (maker of bodybuilding supplements) contacted me and today's review is of the Bodybuilding Warehouse Rich Chocolate Premium Protein Cookies.  Since it is the U.K. and they use the metric system, I can tell you that my cookie was 75 grams.  Using my wonderful Google machine, I have found out that this is 2.65 ounces in the U.S.'s antiquated, but AWESOME, standard measurement system.  Within that cookie is 326 calories and a WHOPPING 37.5 grams of protein.  Holy moly.  I could probably get more muscular just from looking at this cookie, much less eating it.  But, eating it is what I am here to do, so here we go.

First observation is that this is a bulky and dense cookie.  It's primarily chocolate (it is rich after all) and within the chocolate cookie base is a smattering of chocolate chips.  Not a ton of them, but certainly an acceptable amount for a normal cookie.  Despite the cookie being so dense, it was fairly soft, so that was a positive to me because it made me believe that I would not be eating a hockey puck.  That's a very good thing.

Biting into this, it was soft and chewy, albeit a touch dry.  That was okay though because I wasn't expecting an extremely moist cookie, especially since this one had been shipped to me from across the pond.  The flavor was definitely rich as the chocolate flavor was potent and had a very sugary bite to it.  A sugar freak like myself likes that.  A person without a sweet tooth may be turned off by that.  Regardless, there was a ton of chocolate flavor here and that was a good thing.  My only minor complaint is that it had a somewhat odd lingering aftertaste.  I can't quite place what it was like, but it was different.  Not different enough to be off-putting, but different enough that I felt it was worth mentioning here.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This is kind of a loaded question since these are U.K. based.  I will say that based on flavor alone, this gets a BUY IT rating.  This was quite a good cookie.  So, if you are U.K-based and looking for protein, this is a good option.  Even if you aren't U.K.-based and want to try something "foreign" out, this would be a good option, especially if you are looking for something with an absurd amount of protein.

BUY IT!!

  2. The good news is - you don't have to work out at a gym! For those of us less inclined to hit the gym, why not create your very own home gym with reputable fitness brands.
