Review: Oreo Limited Edition Marshmallow Crispy Cookies

Okay, okay...I know I'm kind of selling out with this review.  Admittedly, I don't always review healthy foods as I've reviewed my fair share of desserts (ice creams, etc.), but this blog is a business for me after all and I want to generate the page hits that a review like this will bring me.  Sorry.  Anyway, I believe this is the first time I have ever ventured into the junk food category with today's review of this package of Oreo Marshmallow Crispy Cookies that I somehow got sent to me in the mail in one of the countless promotions that I signed up for (lucky me!).  Anyway, this limited edition (they have also introduce a Cookie Dough flavor) package of cookies weighed in at 12.2 ounces and had twelve servings (two cookies per serving) and each serving was 140 calories.  Not exactly a diet food, but I clearly knew that going in.

As you can see from my picture above, these clearly look like a Golden Oreo cookie when you first take a look at them.  Upon closer inspection though, you can see that there some broken up marshmallow cereal treat pieces in mixed in the marshmallow creme of the interior of the Oreo.  Of course, all of that wonderful concoction is mixed inside of the golden sandwich cookies.  Outside of that, there's not a ton to look at.

I took my first bite of these and at first, they tasted just like a Golden Oreo and there is DEFINITELY NOT anything wrong with that.  I'm weird in a way that I think I like Golden Oreos more than I like regular Oreos.  Of course, the regular ones are better to dip in milk though.  Anyway, as I made my way through what was essentially a tasty Golden Oreo, I was met by the occasional piece of marshmallow cereal treat and that certainly brought some additional sweetness to the typical cookie and cream.  The pieces were so small that they didn't break up the texture of the creme a lot, but it was enough that I could tell a difference.

Buy It or Fly By It?  So, this basically ended up being a Golden Oreo in my mind, but I could not care less because Golden Oreo cookies are awesome in my opinion.  Marshmallow Crispy or not, these were close enough to a Golden Oreo that I am required to give this a BUY IT rating.  It's not really a flavor that delivers as it promised, but I don't really care.  I just want to eat more and attempting to not eat the entire package in one sitting might be the biggest challenge of my life.

BUY IT!!

  1. Hi, I've been reading your blog on and off for about a year? I mostly agree with your reviews with the exception of some protein bars (which you thought were good and I thought they were straight nasty!)
Anyway, I was wondering if you have reviewed Quest bars yet ? Or Artic Zero?
I would love to hear your take on these products since we have similar tastes --although both products are a bit more expensive than what you usually review.

    1. Ana, there's a list of all the Product Manufacturers that I've reviewed on the right hand side of the page (you'll have to scroll down to see it). If you want to check out Quest, Arctic Zero or others, you can find links to those reviews there. Thanks for reading!
