Review: Kellogg's Special K Vanilla Crisp Cereal Bar

The processes of daily life can sometimes repeat continuously and lead life to be kind of vanilla.  If that's the case, it's probably not a good thing for me to sample another product from the Kellogg's catalog that includes vanilla in the potentially boring Kellogg's Special K Vanilla Crisp Cereal Bar that I picked up in my super awesome office snack time recently.  This weighs in at 0.8 ounces and each cereal bar has 90 calories and less than one gram of protein, so basically all you are eating this for is energy.

With such a boring name, I wasn't exactly expecting excitement with the appearance of that bar and I can safely say that this bar met those expectations with flying colors.  This just a basic cereal bar with vanilla icing.  The vanilla smell was quite strong, which was nice, but that's it.  Also, this bar was quite soft and bent easily, so I'm not sure how crisp is going to work into this...

Well, it didn't work well because there was no crisp in this bar at all, not that there's anything wrong with that.  It was soft and chewy with vanilla flavoring.  What was different and unexpected I guess is that after the overwhelming odor of vanilla that this bar carried, the vanilla taste did not nearly match what I would have expected.  In fact, the vanilla flavor was more of an accent flavor and pretty darn mild.  I didn't care if it was strong or weak either way, but it was just an unexpected performance.  The rest of the bar was just chewiness and that's it.

Buy It or Fly By It?  If I haven't bored you to death already, I think you probably deserve some award.  With that, I'll wrap this up quickly and give this a BUY IT rating.  There's nothing overtly wrong or right with this bar, but it is a more than adequate way to grab a snack and/or a quick bit to eat.

BUY IT!!
