Review: JELL-O Live Active Milk Chocolate Bliss Pudding

Sometimes I let my ego get the best of me and think that I've seen it all.  I am often put in my place and that was the case in one of my recent visits to Walmart as I found a JELL-O pudding product that I had NEVER seen before and I thought I'd seen them all.  In this case it was a four pack of the JELL-O Live Active Milk Chocolate Bliss Pudding.  It's Live Active because it's good for digestive health, but that's not what I was really interested in.  What I was truly interested in was the fact that this was a flavor that I had never seen before that sounded really, really good.  So, armed with two whole dollars, I grabbed this four pack of cups, threw it in my cart to bring home to try and that leads me to this review.  Each cup is 3.75 ounces and has 60 calories.

As you can see from the exterior of these cups and also the picture above, there are two different kinds of milk chocolate in this, thus the bliss.  There is the two layers of the lighter milk chocolate sandwiching a layer of darker milk chocolate.  I guess the different in color is a way to make this more fun, but being that it's all milk chocolate, it doesn't really matter.  It also had that smooth milk chocolate smell too, so needless to say, I was more than excited to dive in.  The big difference between this cup and a normal JELL-O pudding cup was that the pudding in this one was a bit looser than the typical pudding used.

My excitement continued after my first spoonful because this was everything wonderful that milk chocolate ever has been.  Not overly sweet, but sweet enough to let you know that you were eating chocolate.  It was also smooth and its looseness provided it with a somewhat creamy taste, as if you were eating something decadent.  The two different colors of chocolate (and perhaps recipes of milk chocolate) only had a impact as I was barely able to differentiate the difference in flavors between the two different colors of pudding.  I guess you could say the flavors matched the colors...the lighter colored chocolate had a lighter flavor and the darker colored chocolate was more dense.  Regardless, this was just one big cup of delicious chocolate with no trace of chocolate bitterness or oversweetness as can sometimes happen with chocolate products.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This truly is bliss, especially if you are a chocolate lover, so this gets a BUY IT rating.  I'm so glad that I have three more cups of this to eat, because that means that I get to experience bliss three more times because this is a chocolate lover's dream.  As for the digestive health part of this, well...send me an e-mail if you are interested.  :)

BUY IT!!

  1. Do you know where this can be found? I could not find it anywhere, and I don't even see the product listed on their general website...

    1. Like I said in my review, I found it at Walmart. I think it might be a flavor exclusive to them. Lucky Walmart!

  2. I've been buying this at Walmart for a while now and really like it. That's the only place I've found it as well. I don't really know how much actual digestive benefit there is, but I'm hoping it's really better than regular pudding, so I continue to opt for this instead.
