Review: Dannon Light & Fit Raspberry Goji Yogurt

There's just some manufacturers out there, that have an exhaustive line of products that would give me enough review content for a blog for the rest of my life, Dannon with their Light & Fit line being one of them.  That said, I try to stick to flavors for reviews that are non-typical flavors that people may actually be curious about and that leads me to another flavor of Light & Fit yogurt called Dannon Light & Fit Raspberry Goji Yogurt.  Now, I'm not that dumb, so I know what raspberries are.  As for goji, well, I had to look that one up because I had zero clue what goji is.  For the uninformed like myself, goji is a raisin like berry, meaning that it is dried and has a sweetness to it.  Armed with this information, I was ready to dive into my review.  For semantics purposes, I picked up a four pack of these yogurt cups (they were mixed with a blueberry acai flavor) at Meijer on sale for $1.88.  Each yogurt cup is six ounces and eighty calories with zero fat.

As you can see, there's not a lot of visuals in this yogurt cup.  The yogurt is a thin and jiggly pink colored yogurt with no sort of fruit chunks whatsoever.  Smell-wise, I could definitely smell the raspberry flavoring but still not knowing what to expect from a "goji", I couldn't comment on if that was part of the smell either (spoiler alert:  it wasn't).

My first spoonful of this pretty much carried what I expected as I expected this to be a "boring" raspberry flavored yogurt.  It wasn't entirely boring though because toward the back of the taste (after the normal tart and tangy raspberry taste that you'd expect) was a sweetness with a little punch.  After doing my reading up on goji berries, I used my strong powers of deduction to determine that this sweet taste was that of the goji berries.  In terms of how the sweetness tasted, well, it tasted like raisins.  Based on my prior descriptions, I'm sure you'll find that shocking.

Buy It or Fly By It?  While this was not a particularly exciting flavor, it still was a tasty one, although it is quite sweet and tangy.  If you can deal with that, definitely BUY IT.  If that's not your cup of tea, I would stay away from this one.  I know that I have another one of these to eat in my refrigerator and I'm not one bit apprehensive about it since I found this to be pretty decent.

BUY IT!!

  1. Did you notice that there's no goji berries in the ingredients?
