Review: Chobani Blueberry 0% Greek Yogurt

In my previous Chobani Black Cherry 0% Greek Yogurt review, I was not exactly happy with my purchase.  I found that one to be tart and nasty, but since I bought two of these yogurts on sale at Meijer for $1.00, I was kind of "forced" into trying out this second blueberry flavor.  It's 130 calories and as yogurts are wont to do, it packs fourteen grams of protein into a six ounce serving.

As with the black cherry version, the fruit is on the bottom of this yogurt, so I stirred it up to the top for the photo.  As I was stirring, I noticed that there were seemingly more blueberries in this one than there were cherries in the black cherry flavor, so that was a nice start.  As you might expect the remainder of the yogurt outside of the blueberries was very thick and creamy like a typical Greek yogurt.

When it came to taste, this one surpassed the black cherry by so far that it's not even measurable.  The problem I had with the black cherry flavor was that the tart taste of the yogurt overpowered the faint black cherry taste.  In this blueberry flavor, that was definitely not the case.  The blueberry taste was strong and definitely won the predominance battle in flavor of the yogurt.  It still had that flavor that you might expect (tart, thick and creamy), but it didn't knock me on my rear like the black cherry flavor.  In fact, I would classify this as much better than black cherry.  All in all, if you like blueberries, you are going to love the blueberry flavor of this because it is clearly the star.

Buy It or Fly Buy It?  Everything about this blueberry flavor was nearly the exact opposite of the black cherry flavor, so the final determination is the exact opposite as well:  BUY IT.  This one is tasty, creamy and delicious.  If this review had gone bad, I would have never tried a Greek yogurt again.  But since this review went so well, I'm anxious to try some of the other flavors/brands out there now.  So, congratulations to Chobani Blueberry 0% Greek Yogurt...you have saved Greek yogurt for me.

BUY IT!!

  2. Try the new apple cinnamon or the new blood orange...next...I think it is a close tie for second for a favorite for me with blueberry being number ONE of course and as a person who eats it for the protein due to surgery and a super super fussy person!!!

I also like the pomegrante but you have to watch out for the seeds...and it isnt as strong of a flavor as the blueberry.

  5. @Tammy: First, thanks for the comment and thank you for reading the blog. I really do appreciate the readers. That said, pineapple is one flavor I won't be trying because I do not like pineapples at all. It's actually one of the very few "normal" foods that I will refuse to even try.
