Review: Nature's Path Organic Qi'a Roasted Peanut Dark Chocolate Bar

I know some people might view this as odd, but I often find it kind of soothing and therapeutic to wander through the grocery store aimlessly just looking at all the products on the shelves.  You find new stuff, you see variety and it's a great way to pass the time as you definitely have to be in no hurry to get anything done.  I recently was doing that at my local Meijer when I stumbled upon something brand new in this Nature's Path Organic Qi'a Roasted Peanut Dark Chocolate Bar.  It's not my first Nature's Path review, but it is the first time I've seen one of these Qi'a bars.  So, I quickly snatched it up for about $1.50 and here we are.  The bar itself is 1.3 ounces and packs in 190 calories and five grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, organic, vegan and ALSO a superfood.  It's got tons and tons of stuff going on.

Before I dive into how this looks, I'll point out that it was a very sticky and also very soft bar.  The stickiness came from the peanut butter in the mix of this bar I'm sure, so that's worth saying before I dive into what the rest of this is...which is a lot.  As you can see from the photo above, there are a whole bunch of chia and hemp seeds spread throughout.  There's also a large quantity of good-sized chunks of Fair Trade dark chocolate spread throughout too.  In terms of smell, this definitely smelled of the roasted peanut (butter) nuttiness that comprised a large portion of the bar.

Biting into this, it was obviously extremely soft and chewy, which is what I would have expected based on how pliable it was when I broke it in half for the photo above.  It was also quite grainy due to the abundance of chia and hemp seats.  After that, it was also very gooey due to the peanut butter and melting dark chocolate chunks.  In term of flavor, it was definitely a very nutty flavor highlighted by a very appealing dark chocolate.  The dark chocolate flavor was very mild and not at all bitter, which is something I very much appreciated.  It perfectly complemented the nutty and semi-sweet peanut butter to make something that turned out to taste quite decadent.

Buy It or Fly By It?  The decadence in this bar made it delicious and borderline addicting, so this gets a BUY IT rating.  I was disappointed when I finished this bar because I wanted more as soon as I took my last bite.  Anytime that happens, it is a very good thing and this was a very good bar.  If you stumble across this in the store, do not hesitate to pick one up for yourself.

BUY IT!!
