Review: That's it. Apples + Cherries Fruit Bar

You have to admit that the name of today's review product lends itself to so many bad and cheesy jokes that I could (and probably will) tell throughout the course of this review.  Anyway, I was recently in New York City for business and I was meandering through the streets of the Chelsea neighborhood where my hotel was and stumbled into a Whole Foods Market.  I have Whole Foods in my area, but I don't often go there, so this was kind of a "special" trip for me.  While in the store (and eating the free loose nuts and candies), I stumbled upon their nutrition bar section and saw this That's it. Apples + Cherries Fruit Bar, which is something that I have never seen in my local stores before.  I think this set me back about $1.50 at New York City prices and it was 1.2 ounces with 100 calories and one gram of protein.  It's super healthy since it is only two ingredients (That's it...get it?), so it's all natural, gluten free, kosher, vegan, non-fat, raw and all that jazz.

Being that there's only two ingredients in this bar and as they advertise, 11 actual units of fruit (one apple and ten cherries), there not a whole lot to look at here.  It's a soft, pliable and sticky bar that has a dark color because ten of those fruits are cherries and that leads to the darker color.  Within the cherry mix are also some apple pieces and while I know they are in there, they weren't overly visible.  This bar basically looked and smelled like a cherry bar and really, that's it (ha!).

As I took a bit into this soft and chewy bar, all I really tasted was dried cherries and I was more than fine with it.  It was just as if I was eating a handful of sweet and semi-tangy dried cherries and being that I do that a couple of times a day at the office, I was obviously okay with that.  The apple flavor really wasn't present, but being that it was outweighed (literally) by a ten-to-one ratio, that should come as no surprise.  The only way I could detect the apples in this was that the chunks of dried apple were slightly larger than the cherry, so those chunks were all that I could detect as I chewed through this and that's it (ha!).

Buy It or Fly By It?  This isn't the most extensive review, but that's a by-product of the simplicity of this bar.  That simplicity is by no means a detriment and honestly, this bar was absolutely delicious, so it gets a heart BUY IT rating.  Cherry lovers like myself will love this low calorie (and clean) snack and that's it (had to do it one more time!).

BUY IT!!
