Review: Dannon Light & Fit Greek Blends Orange Cream Greek Yogurt

So today ends my Walmart binge.  I can honestly say I'm exhausted by reviewing these Light & Fit Greek Blends.  I'm not exhausted because I've had bad experiences, but instead by the fact that I'm just tired of eating Greek yogurt for a while.  That's one of the issues with these products that have expiration dates...I have to hurry my way through them.  Anyway, I picked up this single serving Dannon Light & Fit Greek Blends Orange Cream Greek Yogurt cup for $1.00 just like the rest of them and it comes in at 5.3 ounces with 80 calories and twelve grams of protein (two times the protein!).

As always, there's not a lot to look at in these other than the fact that they carry the color of the object they are supposed to represent.  My iPhone 5s camera didn't do a good job with the contrast, but the coloring of this was kind of a pale orange color, kind of like the interior a grapefruit.  In terms of smell, it did have a faint smell of orange but the smell of Greek yogurt was more prevalent in this than in any of the other Greek Blends that I've tried out.  While certainly not off-putting, it was a new experience.

I took my first spoonful of this thick and creamy yogurt and upon devouring it, I was met with a very mild taste of orange and a surprising pop of cream flavoring.  I know that cream was in the name and I really shouldn't be surprised by tasting it, but "cream" is just such a catch-all type of name in my mind, that I often find there is no cream in the flavor of a product at all.  That was not the case with this one.  Anyway, that orange and cream flavoring, while present, was very tame and ultimately ended up being overtaken by the tart flavor of the Greek yogurt.  I've grown to like that flavor, so I was okay with it, but it might not be appetizing to some.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This was a very tame flavor and was more of a Greek yogurt flavor than it was an orange cream flavor, but I was okay with that, so I give this a BUY IT rating.  This was probably the most tame out of all the Greek Blends that I've tried out, but that's not a bad thing as it was still a tasty product that I was happy that I had consumed.

BUY IT!!

  1. That's interesting, I didn't think the flavor was tame at all. It tasted like vanilla greek yogurt with crushed up vitamin C chewables in it. It orange was a bit too artificial tasting for me (probably because it is mostly artificial) I bought them because they were on sale but it's not one of my favorite brands.
