Review: Kashi Blackberry Graham Soft-Baked Cereal Bar

Money doesn't grow on trees and neither do reviews, so any time that I'm able to pick up a new food for a review at my company's daily snack time, my wallet certainly appreciates it. With that, I'm led to another Kashi review with this snack time inspired review of this Kashi Blackberry Graham Soft-Baked Cereal Bar. This all natural bar comes in at 1.2 ounces and has 120 calories with a teensy two grams of protein.

This bar shares the same design as the other soft-baked cereal bars from Kashi as it has the racing stripe/split down the middle that lays the fruit interior out for all the world to see. In this case, the fruit of choice is blackberry and I would have been able to tell that without even knowing the name of the bar beforehand because this had a very strong smell. Outside of that, the cereal part of the bar was definitely soft and baked because it was crumbly, soft and broke apart easily like a lot of baked products do. One thing I was wondering as I looked at this though was how the graham part of the name played into this, because it was not outwardly obvious.

Go ahead and call that last line a segue because after taking my first bite, I was again curious how graham played into this because I tastes nothing even remotely similar to any flavor of graham product I've had in my life. It was truly a mystery.  As for the rest of the bar, there were not mysteries.  The cereal bar portion of the bar was the main flavor and as someone who has at least one cereal bar per day, I really appreciated the softness and bakery like taste and mouthfeel of that.  It was a pretty plain taste, but when mixed with the tang of the blackberries which came on toward the end of each bite, it made kind of a bland and then subsequently exciting mix.

Buy It or Fly By It?  This was a pretty basic bar, but it was tasty and a person that really likes blackberries would probably find this especially tasty.  Because of that tastiness, this definitely gets a BUY IT rating in my book and is a good alternative to the standard blueberry, strawberry or apple cinnamon bars that are most prevalent in the stores.  Don't hesitate to pick this up because it's a goodie.

BUY IT!!
