Review: JELL-O Sugar Free Mousse Temptations Chocolate Mint Sensation

I've been a little apprehensive about reviewing this flavor because I'm not a fan of the chocolate and mint combination.  I obviously love chocolate and I like mint, but whenever the two are put together, I just don't like it.  For example, there is no more disgusting ice cream in the world to me than mint chip.  I'm just repulsed by it.  Still, I figured that since I've reviewed a lot of JELL-O's products, I might as well be comprehensive and review this one as well.  I picked up a six pack of these Chocolate Mint Sensation pudding cups at Meijer on sale for $2.50.  Each four ounce cup contains sixty calories and is sugar free.

As you can see in the picture above, this one looks like any of the other chocolate Mousse Temptations products.  It's got the brown chocolate hue and texturally, it is airy and fluffy.  Outside of that, there's not much to say.  So, with that "normal" appearance, I was ready to face my fears and give this one a taste...

First bite to me said, "hmmm...this tastes like Andes Candy."  Second bite said, "this basically is Andes Candy."  So, if you are looking for a comparison, grab an Andes mint or go stay in a hotel and grab one of those chocolate mints off the pillow, because that is exactly what this tastes like.  Being that I like those Andes/hotel mints, I was definitely not against this flavor.  In fact, I sort of enjoyed it and no one was more surprised by that than me.  It's not my favorite flavor and it's something that I could burn out on if I ate it too frequently, but it is a decent little treat to mix it up from time to time.

Buy It or Fly By It?  BUY IT, especially if you like the chocolate and mint combination because this is the personification of that.  Either that or you could go stay in a hotel in order to get the mint.  I'm guessing the JELL-O Mousse Temptations route would be cheaper though.

BUY IT!!

  1. personification of an Andes mint, I didn't think it was possible - I'm not sure it is. Sounds like I'll have to try this one to see what you're talking about.
