As I type this review this morning, I see on Twitter that a Dannon competitor (Yoplait) has had a truck wreck on one of the local Indianapolis interstates and there are countless smashed/spilled cups of Yoplait yogurt spread all over the side of the road. Seeing that kind of makes me giggle as I type this review. Anyway, today I embark on another Dannon review as I'm taking a look at a Dannon product line that has been out for a while that I've just been too lazy to get to as I look at this cup of Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Coconut Créme Blended Greek Yogurt. I picked this up at Meijer in a pretty good sale for $0.88 and each cup is the standard 5.3 ounces. Within that 5.3 ounces of Greek yogurt is 120 calories and fifteen grams of protein. Since it is "Triple Zero", that means that it is sugar free, fat free and has no artificial sweeteners. It's also the official yogurt of the National Football League (home of deflated balls). Hooray for you if that kind of stuff impacts whether you purchase a product or not.
Coconut Créme doesn't provide a lot to look at, as you can see from the photo above. It's milky ghost white and while it was runny at first, the cup of Greek yogurt became creamy not (creme-y) once I stirred it up for the photo above. It did have a slight smell of creme and a slight smell of coconut, but neither was very prevalent. If I were to say to apply the triple zero tag here, I would say this had zero color, zero mix-ins and well...I can't come up with a third one at the moment. If you care enough to try to join the "writing" (if that's what you want to call what I'm doing here) fun, feel free to enter something into the comments as to what you think the third zero should be.
As I took my first cooling spoonful, there was no real Greek yogurt tartness to this at all. This was basically the two named components, coconut and creme. Like the smell of this, neither was particularly potent, but both were noticeable and quite pleasant. The creme hit initially followed by the coconut that added some sweetness and life to this and then lingered a bit until my next spoonful. Outside of that, there really wasn't much else here, so there's not much else to type.
Buy It or Fly By It? This was just pleasant. Not wonderful, but very pleasant. For that reason, it doesn't get a triple zero or even a single zero. It gets a BUY IT rating (Like that fun play on the name there that I did? I must be a professional. Ha ha.). Don't go rushing out to grab this one, but if you do see it on the shelf at your local store, don't feel ashamed or be hesitant to grab it.
