Review: Dannon Light & Fit Strawberry Yogurt

After my previous review of the Vanilla flavor of Dannon's Light & Fit yogurt product line, it was time to give the Strawberry flavor a test run.  This one was purchased the same day as the Vanilla at Meijer on sale for $2.00.  It's 0% fat, 110 calories per serving and there's roughly four servings per 32 ounce container.

As you can see, this yogurt has a pinkish hue representing the strawberries (see how I used my huge brain to figure that one out?!).  Also, there are small, but noticeable strawberry chunks spread intermittently throughout the entire container.  Once difference I found between this and the Vanilla flavor though was that this version was not nearly as creamy and was borderline runny.  I know some of that is caused by the lack of fat content, but still, why is there a difference between the Vanilla and Strawberry in that respect?  I'm not scientist, nor do I play one on TV, but I do find that kind of strange.

Another difference between this Strawberry flavor and the Vanilla flavor is the strength of the taste.  The Vanilla flavor had a strong, bold taste.  This Strawberry flavor, while definitely strawberry, was much more subtle and borderline faint.  The sweetness of strawberries were there, but it was not something that was going to pop you in the mouth, so to speak.  I'm not a huge strawberry fan (I do like them but don't think they are the bee's knees like some people do), but the lack of flavoring in this was disappointing.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Personally, I would FLY BY IT.  Like I said, it wasn't an awful flavor, but when given the option between this or the Vanilla flavor, I would choose the latter every single time.  You may draw your own opinion, but that's mine and that's where I'll be spending my money.

FLY BY IT!!
