Review: Gatorade G Series Prime Honey Oat Fuel Bar
I frequently see Gatorade's foray into nutrition bars sitting on the shelves of my store. I've had varying success with them in past reviews, but it seems like the flavors never change. Upon a recent browsing of Kroger, I happened to notice a flavor of bar that I hadn't seen before, so that led me to snatch up this Gatorade G Series Prime Honey Oat Fuel Bar for today's review. This bar clocks in at 2.1 ounces and packs in 220 calories and five grams of protein. Unlike a lot of their previous products that I've reviewed, this bar is neither huge in size nor is it a huge calorie bomb. Basically, this abandons everything I've come to expect from Gatorade bars as this one is certainly more modest.

Review: Nature Valley Sweet & Spicy Chili Dark Chocolate Bars
I've been getting a lot of products from Marsh recently in the clearance section. I don't think it is because the products are terrible but instead because Marsh has a real problem controlling their expiration dates and keeping food fresh. So, I guess I bring this up because you should just ignore the clearance sticker on these products going forward and instead focus on the product itself. Today, I'm adding to my Nature Valley review collection with this review of a box of six Nature Valley Sweet & Spicy Chili Dark Chocolate Bars. Each bar in the box is 1.24 ounces and has 160 calories with three grams of protein.

Review: Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars
Several months ago, I received a four boxes of a variety of bars from Good2Go. Well, it's taken me several months, but I am FINALLY ready to wrap up the reviews of what all I received in those boxes as I take a dive into this review of the Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars. As you can see from above, there are eight bars per box and each bar clocks in at 2.47 ounces. What you can't see is that each bar has 298 calories and a fairly robust 18 grams of protein. It's also gluten free, so it's got that going for it.

Review: Annie's Organic Berry Berry Granola Bars
The clearance section at Marsh has had some good stuff in it recently, at least in my opinion. Today is another one of those finds in the section as I picked up an Annie's product, of which I've seen countless times in various stores, but have never wanted to make the big leap to buy any of them. Clearance will make a guy do funny things though and that's why I decided to grab this box of Annie's Organic Berry Berry Granola Bars off the shelf. Each box has six 0.98 ounce bars and each bar is 120 calories with two grams of protein.

Review: Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars
Some time back, I received several boxes of Good2Go bars as free samples for reviews. I've hurriedly looked at a couple of flavors in prior reviews, but I've put aside the remaining two flavors for a while as I addressed other products. Well, I'm back and now it's time to knock out these remaining two flavors of free samples. So, here we are with this box of eight Good2Go Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars. Each bar in the box is 2.47 ounces and has 298 calories with eighteen grams of protein, so there's definitely some girth here. It's also gluten fee, so it does have that going for it if that is something that you are looking for.

Review: Brookside Dark Chocolate Cherry With Pomegranate Flavor Fruit & Nut Bar
It's amazing to me how many products Kroger gets me to try for the first time because they give them away for free. Usually, they give them away (and I review them) via their Free Friday Download promotion, but today's review of this Brookside Dark Chocolate Cherry With Pomegranate Flavor Fruit & Nut Bar was a freebie that Kroger was giving away just because. Not tied to any particular promotion or anything...it was just free. I like that. So, I happily grabbed my freebie and that leads me to take a look at this 1.4 ounce bar. Within that 1.4 ounces of gluten free fun (to be determined) is 180 calories and one gram of protein.

Review: Don't Go Nuts Whitewater Chomp Nut Free Energy Bar
I was aimless strolling through my local Meijer recently (I'm not going to kid myself, I'm always aimless strolling) and I wandered through the nutrition bar aisle and noticed that there was an entirely new line of bars sitting on the shelf. Curiosity piqued, I went in for a closer look and found this Don't Go Nuts Whitewater Chomp Nut Free Energy Bar on sale for roughly $1.50. The world seems to be filled with people with allergies to something these days and in this case, this bar caters to those with nut allergies as it's nut free. It's also gluten free, kosher and organic. Packed into this 1.58 ounces are 180 calories and two grams of protein, although the website says there are three grams. What a dilemma...packaging vs. website!

Review: Quaker Quinoa Yogurt, Fruit & Nut Granola Bars
I'll admit that I've been a little slow to get this new (it was at one time) Quaker product into my review catalog. I've got a pretty good reason though...they've never been at what I feel is a fair price. So, on a recent trip to Marsh, I found them at a very fair price (on clearance) and I know I had to snatch up a five of these Quaker Quinoa Yogurt, Fruit & Nut Granola Bars for a much delayed review. Typically, these run in the $3.00-$4.00 range for a box (at Kroger), but let's just say that I got these at a price substantially lower than that, as the remnants of the clearance tag on the front of the box will infer. Anyway, each bar in the box is 1.23 ounces and has 150 calories and two grams of protein. These bars are designed to be snacks, so they aren't large from a calorie, weight or protein perspective.

Review: Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats
People do a lot of things in life in the name of love. Make sacrifices, do nice things, etc. Well, apparently there's a group of people out there that like to grow food in the name of love (apparently oats are quite the loving food) and because of that, led to another Love Grown Foods review as I take a look at this cup of Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats. I was able to pick it up at Kroger for around $1.50 (can't remember the exact price) and each container of gluten free Love Grown Foods Strawberry Raspberry Hot Oats comes in at 2.22 ounces and has 230 calories and seven grams of protein.

Review: Love Grown Foods Peach Almond Vanilla Hot Oats
I love the clearance aisle. I love it when I find products that I regularly buy and are near expiration (I'll eat them well before expiration) and I also love it when I find products that I would have either never considered buying or had never heard of. Today's review is a case of the latter as I was able to find a 2.22 ounce container of this Love Grown Foods Peach Almond Vanilla Hot Oats at Kroger. Can't really remember the price, but since it was on clearance, that's not a realistic gauge of price anyway. Within this container are 240 calories and a respectable seven grams of protein. It's also gluten free.

Review: Yoplait Plenti Strawberry Plentiful Greek Yogurt
So, mixing oats in your Greek yogurt is apparently the big new thing in the Greek yogurt war. I've seen several different manufacturers doing it and while I've reviewed plenty of Yoplait products here before, I've never taken a look at their foray into this battle. That leads me to today's review of this single serving cup of Yoplait Plenti Strawberry Plentiful Greek Yogurt that I was able to pick up for free via a digital coupon in the Kroger app. This one ordinarily runs about a dollar-ish at it's regular price. Anyway, this comes in at 5.3 ounces and is loaded up with 140 calories and twelve grams of protein.

Review: Mediterra Yogurt & Oat Bar with Cherry & Pistachio
Fresh Thyme strikes again! It's another new product from my first trip to the store itself. In that trip, I picked up a very interesting, Mediterranean inspired product when I grabbed this Mediterra Yogurt & Oat Bar with Cherry & Pistachio off the shelf for $1.99. The bar itself is 1.6 ounces and packs in 180 calories and seven grams of protein. It's also all natural and gluten free, so there are some clear benefits to this one. I wish one of the benefits would be that when eating this bar, I would automatically be transported to a beach (preferably nude) somewhere in the Mediterranean. Probably not going to happen though, unfortunately. Instead, I'll just have to settle for testing out this bar.

Review: Meta Health Bar Cranberry Lemon Drizzle Bar
Meta Health Bars are something that I had reviewed one time previously and the only reason I was able to review that was because it came to me as a free sample in the mail through some Facebook promotion or something like that. Until recently, I had never seen these bars in the store until I was meandering through Meijer and saw these hidden away from the normal bars and in the digestive products section (gross). Since I finally found them in the store, I quickly grabbed up this Meta Health Bar Cranberry Lemon Drizzle Bar for $1.49. It's 1.41 ounces and has 150 calories with two grams of protein. Like I mentioned in the prior review and also the reason for this being near the digestive products, this bar comes as an extension of the Metamucil product line, so there is that.

Review: Balance Bar Bare Sweet & Spicy Nut Bar
Food manufacturing is like one big game of follow the leader. Everyone copies everyone's ideas and it's just a vicious circle. You make a non-coated bar, I make a non-coated bar. You make a Greek yogurt bar, I make a Greek yogurt bar. You make a savory bar, I make a savory bar. Anyway, you get the picture. That's why it should come as no surprise that today's review subject is another bar in the line of another one of those trends...non-coated savory bars. I've looked at varieties from other manufacturers previously, but today adds to the Balance Bar review catalog as I take a look at their version with this review of the Balance Bar Bare Sweet & Spicy Nut Bar that I was able to pick up at Meijer for $1.00. Each bar is 1.19 ounces and has 160 calories and four grams of protein. It's also gluten, soy and dairy free.

Review: Wholesome Goodness Apple Cinnamon Omega Granola Bar
My mother tells me that I'm supposed to have some wholesomeness and goodness in my life. If that's true, what better way to get that in my life (and my belly) is there than to eat a bar with both of those things in the name? I really can't see a better way, can you? Yes, that is a really horrible introduction, but hey, sometimes it's tough to write something witty (or even remotely passable) every single time. Anyway, this isn't the first time I've tried to get both of those things in me since I've reviewed Wholesome Goodness previously, but today's review is another variety out of their product offering with this look at the Wholesome Goodness Apple Cinnamon Omega Granola Bar that I was able to pick up for $1.49 at my local Marsh. Each bar is 1.4 ounces and has 160 calories and three grams of protein.

Review: The GFB Gluten Free Bar Oatmeal Raisin Bar
I mentioned in a previous Gluten Free Bar review that I first thought they had been kicked out of my local Meijer, but like the Phoenix, they rose again with additional flavors. I said that I picked up a couple of flavors and today's review of this The GFB Gluten Free Bar Oatmeal Raisin Bar is the second of those flavors that I was able to grab. Like the last, this one was on the shelves of Meijer for $1.49. It clocks in at 2.05 ounces with 220 calories and twelve grams of protein. It's all natural, dairy free, soy free, vegan and obviously gluten free.

Review: Balance Bar Bare Sea Salt Caramel Nut Bar
Balance Bar is a product that I hit a lot in the early days of the blog and then it went a year before I reviewed it again. I was thinking that prior to today that it had been at least eighteen months since I looked at one, but much to my surprise, I did a couple of reviews earlier this year. Either way, review of Balance Bars have been few and far between since 2012. So, today they make a return to the blog (again) as I take a look at this Balance Bar Bare Sea Salt Caramel Nut Bar that I was able to pick up at Meijer for $1.00. The bar itself is 1.19 ounces and has 160 calories and five grams of protein. It's also gluten and soy free, if you are interested in that kind of thing.

Review: Chobani Oats Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt With Steel-Cut Oats
If I were to give you a peek behind the curtain of this blog, so to speak, you'd see that not only do I have a lot of yogurt reviews that I've already written that I haven't posted yet, but I also have a lot of yogurt flavors sitting in my refrigerator that I've yet to try and then write a review for. When I look at those two things, I kind of think that I should change the name of this blog to Crazy Yogurt Dude for a while because there have been and will be A LOT of yogurt reviews here. That said, today I add one more to that list as I take another look at a Chobani product with today's look at this 5.3 ounce single serving cup of Chobani Oats Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt With Steel-Cut Oats that I was able to pick up at Meijer for $1.25. Each cup has 160 calories, ten grams of protein and as per usual with Chobani, it's all natural.

Review: Dr. Black's Brain Bar Chocolatey Caramel Bar
We all know that I love free samples and spend a lot of time reviewing samples and free products that I've reviewed on the blog. In the case of today's review, the chance to get a free sample carrying the name of Dr. Black's Brain Bar Chocolatey Caramel Bar was just too hard for me to refuse. Not only because it was a free sample, but the chance to eat a bar with brain on the name was just too amusing for me and too hard to resist. So, I ordered this free sample through an online promotion and the drawback was that it was a chocolate bar shipped to me in the heat of the summer (more on that later). The positive is that it was free (had to mentioned that again) and the bar itself comes in at 0.99 ounces with 110 calories and three grams of protein. It's also made up of a proprietary brain blend as stated on the wrapper as "A Proprietary Blend of Longvida Curcumin, DHA, Fisetin, Green Tea Extract." A bunch of things that I have no idea what they are, but I'll take their word for it that it's good for my central processing unit (brain).

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Dark Chocolate Peanut Bar
Another day, another new manufacturer on the blog. I know that is definitely not the case, but it does seem that I've been hitting a lot of new product manufacturers recently and that's definitely a good thing as it gives the blog a bigger reach and more variety. That helps me (the guy trying to make money off the blog) and you (the reader trying to learn more things about products) simultaneously. My friends at Marsh allowed me to pick up this Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Dark Chocolate Peanut Bar for $2.99 and each bar is 1.8 ounces and has 190 calories and fourteen grams of all natural oats (among other things).
