Review: Gatorade G-Series Recover Mint Chocolate Crunch Whey Protein Bar
It's been over a year since I've hit up a Gatorade bar review and quite frankly, the thought of reviewing another one of their bars didn't particularly excite me. Still, I recently saw a flavor in the store that I hadn't seen before (how many posts have started that way?), so I decided to grab this Gatorade G-Series Recover Mint Chocolate Crunch Whey Protein Bar off the shelf of my local Meijer for about $2.00 (can't remember the exact price) and give it a shot. Each bar is a robust 2.8 ounces and packs in 350 calories and twenty grams of protein. If you are an athlete and we want to discuss this in athletics analysis terms, this bar is for you...ON PAPER.

Review: Chef Robert Irvine's FortiFX Fit Crunch Cookies and Cream Protein Bar
I've mentioned many times on this blog that I really like the Food Network and on that network, one of my favorite chefs is Robert Irvine. Not because he's necessarily the world's greatest chef, but because he's a charismatic and engaging personality and his shows are generally pretty good. I took a look at one of his bars long ago and I liked it quite a bit, but I've had difficulty finding them since then, thus the absence. On a recent sojourn to the Walmart Neighborhood Market, I was finally able to stumble upon a different flavor in this Chef Robert Irvine's FortiFX Fit Crunch Cookies and Cream Protein Bar that I grabbed for $1.99. This one clocks in at 1.62 ounces with 190 calories and sixteen grams of protein, by the way.

Review: Gatorade G-Series Recover Chocolate Caramel Whey Protein Bar
If you read my last Gatorade G-Series Recover bar review, it means you are probably crazy. Ha. No, it means that you know the backstory of how I found a couple of new flavors in an "enemy" store (one that I don't visit often) and today's review is the second and final review of the bars that I was able to find. Like last time, I picked up this Gatorade G-Series Recover Chocolate Caramel Whey Protein Bar at Marsh for $1.99. It clocks in at 2.8 ounces and being that it is such a large bar, it packs in 340 calories and twenty grams of protein.

Review: Gatorade G-Series Recover Cookies and Creme Whey Protein Bar
For whatever reason, my typical Kroger has decided to only carry one flavor of these Gatorade G-Series bars which I've reviewed here previously. I hadn't seen any other flavors until I was recently strolling through an "enemy" Marsh store (not only a different company, but also not my typical Marsh store) and saw a couple flavors of bars that I hadn't seen previously, so I knew I had to snatch them up. That leads me to today's review of this Gatorade G-Series Recover Cookies and Creme Whey Protein Bar that I was able to grab for $1.99. This meathead bar clocks in at 2.8 ounces with 360 calories and twenty grams of protein, so it's clearly got a lot of bulk.

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar
It's been a while since I've taken a look at an Oatmega bar. This one has just been laying around waiting for me to review and I've been putting off doing it because, quite frankly, the combination kind of scared me. I love blueberries, but I'm not particularly fond of the pomegranate flavor in a lot of cases, so I've been taking my time getting to doing a review of this Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar. Alas, I couldn't put it off forever, so that leads me to take a look at this bar that I picked up at Marsh for $2.99. Each bar is 1.8 ounces with 190 calories and fourteen grams of protein. It's all natural, made of whey protein and is high in Omega 3, so it's got all those delightful characteristics going for it.

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Vanilla Almond Bar
My last Oatmega review was kind of boring. The bar was fine and got a BUY IT rating, but nothing about it was particularly memorable for me. So, as I headed into this review of the Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Vanilla Almond Bar, I wasn't expecting to be particularly thrilled either since this had such a seemingly boring product name/recipe. Still, these are new products and I want to try each of them out, so I picked this up at Marsh for $2.99. The bar is 1.8 ounces and has 190 calories and fourteen grams of protein. It's also part of the growing wave of gluten free products that I see slowly starting to take over the shelves of my local grocery stores.

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Dark Chocolate Peanut Bar
Another day, another new manufacturer on the blog. I know that is definitely not the case, but it does seem that I've been hitting a lot of new product manufacturers recently and that's definitely a good thing as it gives the blog a bigger reach and more variety. That helps me (the guy trying to make money off the blog) and you (the reader trying to learn more things about products) simultaneously. My friends at Marsh allowed me to pick up this Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Dark Chocolate Peanut Bar for $2.99 and each bar is 1.8 ounces and has 190 calories and fourteen grams of all natural oats (among other things).

Review: Gatorade G-Series Recover Chocolate Chip Whey Protein Bar
Sometimes I think there are some companies that are taking over the world. Microsoft used to be one of them, but they've faded away. Nike used to be one of them too, but while they are still very strong, they are not the mega-brand that they used to be in my mind. The best example I can think of currently is Apple. They own us. The reason I bring this up is that Gatorade (I know they are a subsidiary of Pepsi) might be trying to join this club as well as they've now ventured into the nutrition bar realm with this Gatorade G-Series Recover Chocolate Chip Whey Protein Bar that snuck up on me one day on a visit to Kroger. Since I'm curious, I picked this up for $1.99 and it weighs in at 2.8 ounces with 350 calories and twenty grams of protein.

Review: Chef Robert Irvine's FortiFX Fit Crunch Peanut Butter Protein Bar
I can't remember if I've covered on this blog before how much I love watching the Food Network. I watch it constantly, almost to the point that it is comical. So, when I saw a free new product offering from one of my favorite Food Network personalities available on the web, I knew I had to request a sample so that I could try it out for the blog. So, the trusty United States Postal Service delivered me this Chef Robert Irvine's FortiFX Fit Crunch Peanut Butter Protein Bar to my house for today's review. This bar is sample-sized but it comes in at 1.62 ounces with 190 calories and has sixteen grams of protein.

Review: Genisoy Chunky Peanut Butter Fudge Energy Bar
I've been on a soy kick recently. Actually, that's not true. What is really happening is that I've made my way through most of the non-soy products in my stores, so the soy products are about all that is left for me to review. It's because of this that I picked up this Genisoy Chunky Peanut Butter Fudge Energy Bar on sale at Kroger for $1.00 for today's review. The bar itself is 1.98 ounces and has 220 calories with ten grams of protein.

Review: CLIF Builder's MAX Caramel Peanut Protein Bar
When I first started this blog, I ran through full-blown protein bar reviews all the time. Eventually, my stores started running out of varieties and I started getting bored with them, so I only review them sporadically now. It's one of those sporadic times (and a free sample) that leads me to another CLIF bar review with today's review of their new CLIF Builder's MAX Caramel Peanut Protein Bar. This incredibly robust, muscle-building bar comes in at a hefty 3.4 ounces with 390 calories and thirty grams of protein. Fittingly, there's a guy lifting weight on the wrapper, but my first thought was that was what was required just to lift this bar, not to mention actually eat it.

Review: Designer Whey Peanut Butter Crunch Protein Bar
Today's review is of another product that snuck up on me in the store in the nutrition bar aisle. As I've said before, I often peruse the nutrition section hoping to get snuck up on because that means that I've got sources for new reviews. This Designer Whey Peanut Butter Crunch Protein Bar definitely fits that bill as I saw it hiding on sale for $1.00 on the bottom shelf of the section. There were originally two flavors, but one was completely out (perhaps this was a clearance sale?), so I snatched up this one remaining flavor to try out. This bar itself comes in at 1.41 ounces and has 160 calories and ten grams of protein. Based on the name, I'm going to guess they whey in this bar is quite fancy as well. I do know, based on the wrapper, that its naturally flavored and sweetened, so I guess it has got that going for it.

Review: Detour Lower Sugar Chocolate Chip Caramel Whey Protein Bar
As I was walking through the office, I came to a big cluster of people and knew that I had to take a detour to get away, thus today's review. Okay, that was perhaps the cheesiest and worst opening line I've ever written in blog history and that's saying something because I've written some truly AWFUL introductions. My awful introduction notwithstanding, today's review of this Detour Lower Sugar Chocolate Chip Caramel Whey Protein Bar is the first Detour product that I've taken a look at here on the blog. I grabbed this at office snack time, so it was free to me, but I have seen these at the store in the $2.00ish range, I believe. This bar itself is of the lower sugar variety (50% less sugar than a normal bar) and is 170 calories with fifteen grams of protein.
