Review: KIND Blueberry Vanilla & Cashew Fruit & Nut Bar
I've often mentioned here that I sometimes find products where it shocks me that I've never reviewed them because it seems like I would have done so in the past since it's not a new product and it's been on the shelves of my local store for quite some time. Today's product review of this KIND Blueberry Vanilla & Cashew Fruit & Nut Bar is one of those instances I'm stunned that I've never done a review on this before. With that, let's dive in. This bar was picked up at Kroger for $1.37 and comes in at 1.4 ounces. It's packing 190 calories and four grams of protein and is also all natural, cholesterol free and gluten free.

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar
It's been a while since I've taken a look at an Oatmega bar. This one has just been laying around waiting for me to review and I've been putting off doing it because, quite frankly, the combination kind of scared me. I love blueberries, but I'm not particularly fond of the pomegranate flavor in a lot of cases, so I've been taking my time getting to doing a review of this Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar. Alas, I couldn't put it off forever, so that leads me to take a look at this bar that I picked up at Marsh for $2.99. Each bar is 1.8 ounces with 190 calories and fourteen grams of protein. It's all natural, made of whey protein and is high in Omega 3, so it's got all those delightful characteristics going for it.

Review: Gnu Foods Fiber Love Apple Cobbler Soft-Baked Fiber Bar
I don't know why it bothers me, but I have to admit that I sometimes shop at Earth Fare and I hate myself for it. I guess it might bother me because I've never wanted that connotation as a natural foods/health nut that shops at those kinds of stores. There's nothing wrong with shopping there at all, but I've just got this bug in my head about it. I guess it's remnants from being picked on too much in elementary school for doing ANYTHING that was different from the norm. I'm 35 years old...maybe I should get over that. LOL. Anyway, I picked up a new product (to this blog) at Earth Fare with this Gnu Foods Fiber Love Apple Cobbler Soft-Baked Fiber Bar that I was able to grab for $1.33. Each bar is 1.6 ounces and has 140 calories and three grams of protein. It's also got 48% of your daily fiber, so HOLY COW.

Review: Rise Crunchy Honey Walnut Breakfast Bar
As a kid, one of the worst things that I can remember hearing was "rise and shine" coming from my mom's mouth. I wanted to sleep and I didn't want to wake up, dammit! Why couldn't she understand that?! Okay, I say that in jest, but when I saw these Rise Crunchy Honey Walnut Breakfast Bars pop up in my local Meijer for $1.25, I was taken back to those moments from my childhood. Each of these bars comes in at 1.4 ounces with 160 calories and four grams of protein. Rise also promotes them via the wrapper as "hearty chunks of fruit and nuts to fuel your morning" and then adds in another nugget via their website that states "Honey—a quick start for hour one. Fruit—big chunks to digest slower for hour two. Nuts—sustained energy for hour three." Wow, they've really put a lot of thought into their story behind this baby.

Review: Fiber One Trail Mix Chewy Bar
After having done so many reviews of Fiber One products in a short time period, I'm starting to get bored with them. Still, like I have said dozens of times before on this blog, I'm trying to be comprehensive, so every time I see a new product in the store, I grab it so that I can do a review. It's that quest that leads me to this review of the Fiber One Trail Mix Chewy Bar, which is apparently so new that it doesn't even have its own page on the Fiber One website yet. A box of five of these bars set me back $3.00 at Meijer and each bar is 1.35 ounces with 130 calories and two grams of protein. It's also 35% of your daily fiber intake, so it truly is my one for fiber (like that play on words?).

Review: Odwalla Berries GoMega Superfood Bar
It's been a while since I've done a review of an Odwalla product, so doing one today is my early Christmas present to you. I've just had no desire to pick one up because nothing about them has ever screamed "Buy Me" in my mind. Maybe sheer boredom had set in and desperation for something to do had set in on a recent trip to the store because I actually saw the Odwalla products and stopped to take a look. It was that stop that led me to pick up this Odwalla Berries GoMega Superfood Bar at Meijer for $1.09. It comes in at a decent-sized 2.0 ounces and has 210 calories and five grams of protein.

Review: Good 'n Natural Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Bar
So I thought I had touched on all the Good 'n Natural products in prior reviews, but lo and behold, I found a new product offering (at least it was new at the time) on the shelves of the nutrition bar section on one of my recent trips to Kroger. I've generally found Good 'n Natural products to be just okay in general, but with a name/recipe like this Good 'n Natural Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Bar had (there's no product page at this time, so I guess it is pretty new), I was expecting big things because I absolutely love all three of those things that are mentioned in the product name. With that, I grabbed this on sale for $0.99 and it comes in at a fairly robust 2.0 ounces with 220 calories and ten grams of protein.

Review: Larabar Uber Apple Turnover Fruit & Nut Bar
Like I said in my last Larabar review, I've been hard on Larabar product in general in my reviews, but I found that I liked the first bar that I tried out of their Uber line of bars that I had the last time. With that positive outcome, I was anxious to give this Larabar Uber Apple Turnover Fruit & Nut Bar a try as it was once again from their sweet and salty Uber bar line. Like the last, I picked this up on sale at Kroger for $0.99 and it comes in at 1.42 ounces with 190 calories and has three grams of protein. Like all bars in this line, Uber means awesome and while the last bar was not awesome, so to speak, it was quite could. Could Uber continue its winning streak? I guess you'll just have to keep reading to find out!

Review: Bora Bora Paradise Walnut Pistachio Bar
I've done several of these Bora Bora reviews and the tropical/paradise motif of these bars amuses me for some reason. Sure it's got a lot of fruits and nuts, but so do forests, so I'm not quite sure why they are so insistent on drawing the comparison to "sex" up the bars (they are referred to as "Exotic Fruit and Nut Bars"). Anyway, I picked up this Bora Bora Paradise Walnut Pistachio Bar on sale at Meijer for $0.75 and it comes in at 1.4 ounces with a respectable 180 calories and four grams of protein. With that limited protein, it's purely an energy and/or snack bar. Oh yeah, by the way, it's an antioxidant bar too. Yippee!!

Review: NOW Honeycomb with Chia & Raisins Energy Bar
I can't remember if I've mentioned it here before, but when it comes to signing up for free contests, promotions and giveaways on Facebook, the web, etc., I'm a total rube. I sign up for all of them. I'm sure a lot of you out there think it's a waste of time (I know my friends do), but I will point out that in addition the countless free samples I've gotten, I've also won like $150 in gift cards in various contests, so it's not a totally fruitless endeavor. With that said, I signed up for another giveaway a couple months ago and as a result of that giveaway, I was blessed with this NOW Honeycomb with Chia & Raisins Energy Bar sample. Obviously, this is just a small sample of one of their bars, but it is a sample nonetheless. NOW is a company endorsed by Phil Keoghan (CBS' Amazing Race host) that produced bars using Manuka honey, which is a type of honey native to his homeland of New Zealand. Anyway, NOW stands for "No Energy Wasted" and I won't waste any more energy talking about the company. Time to talk about the sample bar. It is 0.71 ounces and is 80 calories with three grams of protein. It's also all natural and gluten free as well.
