Review: Curate Salted Decadence Dark Chocolate & Almonds Bar

Curate bars have successfully infiltrated my Kroger in all shapes and sizes.  Okay, so maybe they are all the same shape and size, but they at least have different flavor varieties and I've taken a look at some of those already.  In standard operating procedure for me and this blog, today's review is another example of me plowing through all the flavor varieties of a particular manufacturer as I take a look at this Curate Salted Decadence Dark Chocolate & Almonds Bar that I was able to pick up at the aforementioned Kroger for $1.79.  Each bar clocks in at 1.59 ounces and has 200 calories with seven grams of protein.  It's also gluten free and crafted with joy, so if either of those things are of interest to you, then maybe that sparked a little interest in this review for you.

Review: Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars

Several months ago, I received a four boxes of a variety of bars from Good2Go.  Well, it's taken me several months, but I am FINALLY ready to wrap up the reviews of what all I received in those boxes as I take a dive into this review of the Good2Go Almond Fruit Nut Protein Bars.  As you can see from above, there are eight bars per box and each bar clocks in at 2.47 ounces.  What you can't see is that each bar has 298 calories and a fairly robust 18 grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, so it's got that going for it.

Review: Good2Go Almond Chocolate Chip Protein Bars

In my last Good2Go review, I mentioned my history with the "G2G" tagline but I'll refrain bringing that up again just to spar you the insanity (stupidity) of my life.  Instead, I'll just dive into today's review where I obtained these Good2Go Almond Chocolate Chip Protein Bars via a free product sampling via the company itself.  There are eight bars in a box and each bar clocks in at 2.47 ounces and a precise 298 calories (I'll spare that diatribe again too) with eighteen grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, seemingly as an increasing number of products are.

Review: OhYeah! Cookie Caramel Crunch Bar

I hadn't realized it (probably because I hadn't thought about it), but it's been a really long time since I've reviewed an OhYeah! product.  I mean, with a fun name like that and a wrapper that states "Unprecedented Taste", how could I not keep reviewing these bars?  Actually, that's an easy one to answer...there weren't any other flavors available in my local stores.  Kroger recently added OhYeah! products and in doing so, added a flavor that I haven't looked at before so for one whole dollar, I picked up this OhYeah! Cookie Caramel Crunch Bar.  This one's gluten free and weighs in at 1.59 ounces, packing in 180 calories and fifteen grams of protein.

Review: Earnest Eats Cran Lemon Zest Baked Whole Food Bar

Today's product is doubly new for me.  Firstly, I picked this up at Fresh Thyme, which is a store that I had never been to until then (nice store, by the way).  Secondly, with a new store bring a new product manufacturer and this is the first time that Earnest Eats has ever made an appearance on the blog with their Earnest Eats Cran Lemon Zest Baked Whole Food Bar that I was able to pick up for $1.69.  Each bar is 1.9 ounces and has 210 calories with five grams of protein.  It's also organic, wheat-free and vegan, so there's those additional health benefits (or life choices) as well.

Review: Come Ready Kids Chocolate Chip Bar

With each passing day, it becomes more and more apparent to me that I'm no longer a kid, no matter how much I'd like to be.  No responsibility, no REAL job, no true obligations, etc.  Does that sounds like fun?  Well, maybe not to some people, but it does sound like fun to me sometimes.  Anyway, despite the fact that I'm not longer a kid, I can still eat products that are clearly intended for kids and that leads me to today's review of a bar that appeared to me on a recent trip to Meijer.  I was able to pick up this Come Ready Kids Chocolate Chip Bar (since renamed to have "Zip!" at the end of the name) for $1.29 and the bar is 1.23 ounces with 140 calories and seven grams of protein.

Review: Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar

It's been a while since I've taken a look at an Oatmega bar.  This one has just been laying around waiting for me to review and I've been putting off doing it because, quite frankly, the combination kind of scared me.  I love blueberries, but I'm not particularly fond of the pomegranate flavor in a lot of cases, so I've been taking my time getting to doing a review of this Boundless Nutrition Oatmega Blueberry Pomegranate Bar.  Alas, I couldn't put it off forever, so that leads me to take a look at this bar that I picked up at Marsh for $2.99.  Each bar is 1.8 ounces with 190 calories and fourteen grams of protein.  It's all natural, made of whey protein and is high in Omega 3, so it's got all those delightful characteristics going for it.

Review: Bear Naked Almond Cranberry Real Nut Energy Bar

My first experience with Bear Naked bars was a positive one that I found to be particularly enjoyable.  It was with those high expectations that I headed into my next round of reviews of their products as I was able to pick this Bear Naked Almond Cranberry Real Nut Energy Bar at the "weird" Kroger along with the others for $1.25.  This bar comes in at 2.0 ounces and has 250 calories with eight grams of protein.  It's all natural too, so that's delightful was well, I suppose.

Review: CLIF Mojo Chocolate Almond Coconut Fudge Sweet & Salty Trail Mix Bar

Another day, another CLIF bar.  That's not the case, but CLIF has so many products that it just seems that way.  To me, they seem like the creme de la creme of the energy bar world...multiple flavors, multiple product lines, big publicity, etc.  They are just everywhere and have been everywhere all over this blog with reviews.  Today, I've got another review and this time is their CLIF Mojo Chocolate Almond Coconut Fudge Sweet & Salty Trail Mix Bar that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $1.00.  It's 1.59 ounces and comes in at 200 calories with eight grams of protein.

Review: Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Roasted Mixed Nut Bar

As I was getting my iPhone camera ready to take the picture above, I realized that I eat a TON of snack bars.  Yes, I should have already known that but sometimes I'm oblivious to my surroundings.  After my so-called revelation, I went ahead got this Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Roasted Mixed Nut Bar ready for the review.  I picked up a box of six of these bars on sale at Kroger for $2.49 and each bar is 1.2 ounces, 160 calories and has three grams of protein.

Review: Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Almond Granola Bar

I haven't talked about it in a while, so I'll bring it up here again...I LOVE The Dollar Tree.  If you are bored and looking for something to do, it is definitely an amusing way to waste thirty minutes as you can meander through the aisles looking at all the stupid and funny stuff that they have in stock.  Most of the time, the stuff that you see is trash, but occasionally you encounter a treasure and a recent trip, I encountered one of those treasures to add to my Nature Valley product review catalog with this review of the Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Almond Granola Bar.  Since I was at the The Dollar Tree, this obviously cost me a $1.00, but I'd imagine that it would go in the $3.00 range in a normal store.  Each box contains five 1.2 ounce bars and each bar has 160 calories and a minimal three grams of protein.

Review: Good 'n Natural Mixed Berry Bar

I mostly thought I was done reviewing Good 'n Natural products, but on a recent trip to Kroger, I noticed that they have a new(ish) flavor that has popped up and that leads me to this review of their Good 'n Natural Mixed Berry Bar.  Being the bargain shopper that I am, I waited a week or two until this was on sale and then grabbed it for $0.99.  The bar pertinent statistics are that it is 2.0 ounces, 230 calories and has ten grams of protein.  It also could be considered edible for just about every person on the planet (except those with nut allergies) as it is gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.  Sounds pretty healthy, eh?

Review: Balance Bar Bare Sweet & Salty Chocolate Almond Bar

Since I got a free shipment of these from Balance Bar, I've obviously covered a lot of flavors here on the blog in prior reviews.  The good news is that I've only got a few more flavors from that free shipment to review after this one, so I'm eventually going to run out.  Actually, that's not true because I'm guessing that Balance Bar will keep introducing new flavors as time goes on.  Anyway, this specific bar from that shipment is the Balance Bar Bare Sweet & Salty Chocolate Almond bar from their Bar line of bars.  It's the standard 1.76 ounces and it has 200 calories.  It also packs fifteen grams of protein and comes in a revealing clear wrapper.  Fancy.

Review: PowerBar Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bar

Every now and then, I need some energy.  Actually, it's more than every now and then, it's seemingly all the time.  Because of that I'm always looking for ways to give myself a pick-me-up and often times that involves caffeine products because most food products out there just have too many calories, like some other PowerBar products I've reviewed, and I don't want to add that to my daily intake.  So, when I saw this PowerBar Pure & Simple Energy Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bar at Meijer for $0.89 and the fact that it was only 130 calories with five grams of protein, I was intrigued.  It's also 1.23 ounces, so it's about one and a half times the size of a standard Quaker Chewy bar.  It's also 100% natural and is a great source of fiber, in case you were interested as well.

Review: PowerBar Harvest Toffee Chocolate Chip Energy Bar

My first PowerBar review here at the blog was quite successful.  While that bar was from their Recovery line of products, I found that bar to be similar to a candy bar, so I was excited to try out one of their different product lines and dig into this Harvest Toffee Chocolate Chip energy bar.  I knew it wouldn't be like a candy bar because of its composition and appearance, but as someone who appreciates toffee flavoring (it's not for everyone), I was anxious to see how this flavor would translate to this bar.  I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $1.00 and it weighs in at 2.29 ounces with 250 calories and ten grams of protein.  It's made of "natural" flavor and PowerBar designates that it should be used before or during a workout/physical activity (stage one or stage two according to their three stage workout scale).
