Review: Chobani flip Chipotle Pineapple Greek Yogurt

Every now and then, I encounter a product that just completely knocks me off guard.  Today's review is one of those products because I would have NEVER expected a Greek yogurt to have both chipotle and pineapple as the core flavors, especially a Chobani product since most of theirs that I've reviewed have been of the sweet variety.  And quite honestly, I was scared to grab this container of Chobani flip Chipotle Pineapple Greek Yogurt out of the dairy case (there's another one that is an even stranger combination that I'll review later).  I guess curiosity overpowered my fears though and that's why we are here today.  This container is packed with 5.3 ounces of Greek yogurt and mix-ins and has 190 calories and twelve grams of protein.

Review: That's it. Apple + Pineapple Bar

I mentioned in my previous That's it. review that I was generously sent a big box of flavors to try out, so here we are again to try out another one of those flavors.  Today's flavor revolves around two ingredients (That's it.) that I have had an old and new relationship with.  First, I've loved apples my entire life, thus the old relationship.  Second, I've only recently come to enjoy pineapples, so that is the new relationship.  So, with that meaningless knowledge now passed along to you, it's time to take a look at this That's it. Apple + Pineapple Bar.  It comes in at 1.2 ounces and has 100 calories with ZERO grams of protein.  It's all natural, gluten free, kosher, raw and vegan.

Review: Pure Protein Tropical Fruit Macadamia Nut Fruit & Nut Bar

I've spent a pretty fair amount of time looking at Pure Protein bars on this blog but it has been over eighteen months since I've taken on a review.  So when I was absentmindedly bumbling my way through Kroger, I was somewhat surprised to see another new flavor resting on the shelves of the nutrition bar section of the store.  Once I got over my mild surprise, I was sure to grab a couple of the new flavors and that leads me to today's review of this Pure Protein Tropical Fruit Macadamia Nut Fruit & Nut Bar that set me back a whole $1.00.  It's 1.86 ounces and has 200 calories that are PACKED with eighteen grams of protein (it is a high protein bar after all).  It's also gluten free if that is part of your diet.

Review: Dannon Evolution Fresh Pineapple Passion Fruit Greek Yogurt

When I think of things that are inspirational, I usually think of great comeback stories or stories about people that have risen from terrible circumstances and made something of themselves.  Also, there are times when a speaker hits just the right note with me and I find myself thinking that I can use that talk as way to propel myself forward.  With that said, rarely do I think of Dannon as being inspirational and that's why today's product carrying the tagline of "Inspired By Dannon" amuses me so greatly.  I don't think I've ever been inspired by Dannon and I've looked at a lot of their products.  I've had some solid eating experiences, but never anything inspirational.  So, it was with that heavy cynicism that I dove into this review of a single serving cup of Dannon Evolution Fresh Pineapple Passion Fruit Greek Yogurt that I picked up at Kroger for $1.00.  Each cup is 5.3 ounces and has 120 calories and twelve grams of protein.  Now, maybe having a fruit with the word "passion" in its name will inspire me, but only time (and this review) will tell.

Review: Dannon Oikos Traditional PiƱa Colada Greek Yogurt

So, I like sales.  I really, really like sales.  That should come as no surprise to anyone that has spend any sort of time reading this blog.  If you are new to the blog, you now know that I really, really like sales.  Anyway, sale at Meijer recently prompted me to pick up this limited edition cup of Dannon Oikos Traditional PiƱa Colada Greek Yogurt (it's so limited it doesn't even have a spot on their website) on sale for $0.88.  It's a spin on the summer-ish (or perhaps just tropical) cocktail and since I love cocktails, I knew this would be right up my alley.  The cup itself comes in at 5.3 ounces and has 160 calories with eleven grams of protein.  This adds to my already expansive Dannon collection and while a lot of them are boring flavors that I've looked at just because they are in the diary case, this one actually kind of intrigues/excites me for some reason.

Review: Larabar Coconut Pineapple Cake Bar

In my last Larabar review, I mentioned how delighted I was to see their products make a return to the blog after nearly a year's absence.  Today is the second part of the two bars that I picked up in that shopping trip at Kroger as I picked up this Larabar Coconut Pineapple Cake Bar for $1.00.  The bar itself comes in at 1.6 ounces and has 190 calories with a tiny two grams of protein.  If you are a big fan of health or at least attempts at health, this bar is also dairy free, gluten free, soy free and vegan.

Review: Silk Tropical Pineapple Soy Yogurt

I've taken a look at a couple of Silk soy yogurt products here on the blog in the past and while I found the taste of soy yogurt to be somewhat odd, I was basically okay with those yogurts and gave them a positive rating.  A coupon and a new flavor led me to pick up another Silk product on a recent trip to Kroger and for $1.00 (before coupon), I was able to grab this cup of Silk Tropical Pineapple Soy Yogurt.  It's 5.3 ounces and has 140 calories and six grams of protein (plant-powered according to the website...seriously).  Being that it's soy yogurt, it's also dairy free (DUH).

Review: Yoplait Light Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Yogurt

I've reviewed plenty of Yoplait yogurts on this blog in the past, but I've never really touched on their original yogurt products that come in the odd and somewhat cylindrical shaped containers for some reason.  Maybe I considered them too pedestrian, too cheap, too boring or some sort of combination of all of those, but I always stayed away.  With today's review, I'm finally crossing the threshold of that and I picked up a container of this Yoplait Light Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Yogurt on sale at my local Marsh for a measly $0.20.  Each container is 6.0 ounces and has 90 calories and five grams of protein.  It's worth two points on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale if you are in to watching (get it?) that kind of thing as well.

Review: Elisabeth Hasselbeck's NoGii Nuts About Tropical Fruit No Gluten Paleo Bar

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is quite the polarizing character.  Survivor, The View, etc.  It would only be natural that someone that polarizing would make a nutrition bar, right?  Okay, maybe that isn't the case.  However you feel about her, I was at least interested to try out another product, no matter who was associated with it and that led me to make this purchase of an Elisabeth Hasselbeck's NoGii Nuts About Tropical Fruit No Gluten Paleo Bar that I picked up at Marsh for $2.29.  The bar itself is 1.5 ounces and consists of 190 calories and four grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, so it's got another tick in the health column in addition to being paleo (natural).

Review: Yoplait Blended Pineapple Greek Yogurt

So I've finally reached the end of my tropical fruit Greek yogurt purchase binge.  Thank goodness because I was starting to get bored of these flavors.  I've looked at several different manufacturers, but today's review adds to my Yoplait review catalog with this look at the single serving cup of Yoplait Blended Pineapple Greek Yogurt that I was able to pick up on sale at Kroger for $1.00.  Each cup is 140 calories and has eleven grams of protein.

Review: Yoplait Greek 100 Tropical Fruit Yogurt

After the winter that we've had in the Midwest, I've often been thinking about moving to the tropics.  It's been horrible and it certainly didn't make it any easier when I took a brief interlude to Cancun for a few days and then had to come back to a foot of fresh snow.  Not fun.  So, adding another review to my Yoplait review catalog fits right along with me thinking about moving to the tropics as I take a look at this 5.3 ounce single serving cup of Yoplait Greek 100 Tropical Fruit Yogurt that I was able to pick up on sale at Kroger for $1.00.  Given the name, it should come as no surprise that this has 100 calories and it also comes with ten grams of protein.  For those of you that are Weight Watchers out there, this one is worth two points on the PointsPlus scale.

Review: Dannon Light & Fit Pineapple Greek Yogurt

It kind of amuses me how much I've grown to truly like yogurt as a result of this blog, specifically Greek yogurt.  It's that increasing affection for yogurt that has caused me to start picking up flavors that I'd generally stay away from and the subject of today's addition to the Dannon Light & Fit review catalog is something that I would typically stay away from because I'm not the world's biggest fan of pineapple.  That said, I was still willing to grab this 5.3 ounce cup of Dannon Light & Fit Pineapple Greek Yogurt on sale for $1.00 at Kroger.  As the label on the container plainly states above, this one comes in at 80 calories and has two times the protein at twelve grams of protein.

Review: Muller Greek Corner Lowfat Yogurt with Pineapple Passion Fruit

I love the Free Friday Download promotion from Kroger.  Every week, I load the coupon for something that I had no intention of buying onto my Kroger Plus card and happily march to the store looking to make my unnecessary acquisition.  On a recent week, the free download allowed me to pick up another Muller product for review and being that I've had so many of them, it was difficult to find one that I haven't tried yet.  Fortunately, after digging through the case, I was able to find this 5.3 ounce container of Muller Greek Corner Lowfat Yogurt with Pineapple Passion Fruit.  The partitioned container was 150 calories and nine grams of protein.

Review: MET-Rx NOS Pumped Chocolate Mixed Berry Energy Bar

Early in the history of this blog, I hit a lot of MET-Rx products and compared to now, they blog was heavily meathead focused.  Over time, I've drifted away from the hardcore muscle bars and have gone more toward the snack/energy bar realm.  Occasionally though, I'll drift back into that hardcore world (albeit hardcore energy) and that leads me to today's review of a new product that I found on the shelves of my local Walmart with this MET-Rx NOS Pumped Chocolate Mixed Berry Energy Bar that I picked up for on sale $1.67.  Each bar weighs in at 1.94 ounces and has a relatively tame 220 calories and thirteen grams of protein.

Review: Nature's Bakery Stone Ground Whole Wheat Raspberry Fig Bar

After my last Nature's Bakery review, Nature's Bakery itself responded via my Twitter feed that I need to try out their vanilla raspberry bar and while this Nature's Bakery Stone Ground Whole Wheat Raspberry Fig Bar isn't exactly that, it is close and here we are with another review of one of their products.  Actually, I had already purchased this, so I planned on trying another flavor anyway, but it was nice of them to interact via Twitter and give me a (biased) recommendation.  This package, just like the last, is made up of two separate fig bars and the entire contents have a combined weight of 2.0 ounces.  Each  bar in the package is 110 calories and has two grams of protein.

Review: Good 'n Natural Mixed Berry Bar

I mostly thought I was done reviewing Good 'n Natural products, but on a recent trip to Kroger, I noticed that they have a new(ish) flavor that has popped up and that leads me to this review of their Good 'n Natural Mixed Berry Bar.  Being the bargain shopper that I am, I waited a week or two until this was on sale and then grabbed it for $0.99.  The bar pertinent statistics are that it is 2.0 ounces, 230 calories and has ten grams of protein.  It also could be considered edible for just about every person on the planet (except those with nut allergies) as it is gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.  Sounds pretty healthy, eh?

Review: SOYJOY Apple Walnut Baked Soy & Fruit Bar

It's funny how your entire perception of a product can change.  In the past, I was terrified of SOYJOY products.  In my reviews for this blog, I've found that I like their products and have been anxious to try out new flavors.  It's that urge that led me to pick up another flavor of their baked soy & fruit bars with this Apple Walnut version and give it a try for the blog.  I picked it up at Marsh for $1.00 and it comes it at 1.05 ounces with 140 calories and four grams of protein.

Review: SOYJOY Strawberry Baked Soy & Fruit Bar

In my first SOYJOY product review of the blueberry bar, I admitted that I went in to the review terrified because I had no idea how it would turn out.  The fact that I was eating a soy bar and a baked one at that, kind of made me skeptical of how everything would turn out.  Once I finished though, I was pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed the bar.  So with that, I head into this second review without any trepidation and actually, I've built up some expectations for this Strawberry flavored bar (good ones) that I'm hoping can be met.  Quite a change, eh?  Anyway, I picked this one up at Meijer for $1.00 and it is 1.05 ounces with 130 calories and four grams of protein.

Review: SOYJOY Blueberry Baked Soy & Fruit Bar

As I start this review, I've got to admit that I was terrified to try this bar.  A "health" bar made of soybeans and fruit?  Ugh, not exactly a recipe for taste success in my mind, but I'm willing to try just about anything, even stuff I hate like bananas.  So, I picked up this Blueberry Baked Soy & Fruit Bar on sale at Meijer for $1.00, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.  The bar itself weighs 1.05 ounces and has 140 calories and four grams of protein.  It's also all natural, so that's re-assuring for people that prefer natural foods.  That's clearly not the case for me with all the processed garbage that I eat for this blog, but I know it is for others, so there you go.
