Review: Brookside Dark Chocolate Cherry With Pomegranate Flavor Fruit & Nut Bar
It's amazing to me how many products Kroger gets me to try for the first time because they give them away for free. Usually, they give them away (and I review them) via their Free Friday Download promotion, but today's review of this Brookside Dark Chocolate Cherry With Pomegranate Flavor Fruit & Nut Bar was a freebie that Kroger was giving away just because. Not tied to any particular promotion or anything...it was just free. I like that. So, I happily grabbed my freebie and that leads me to take a look at this 1.4 ounce bar. Within that 1.4 ounces of gluten free fun (to be determined) is 180 calories and one gram of protein.

Review: That's it. Apple + Cherries Bar
I can't wait for the day that I get to say that's it to reviewing these That's It bars that I've been plowing through. Actually, I'm just joking. All of these have come as free samples and I'm always grateful for the opportunity to review products. I will admit that it does sometimes get a bit tiring reviewing derivatives of the same product over and over again because I just lose that product variety and as we all should know, variety is the spice of life...or something. Anyway, this That's it. Apple + Cherries Bar clocks in at 1.2 ounces with 100 calories and one gram of protein. Being that it only has two ingredients, it is obviously all natural. Also, it's gluten free, kosher, raw and vegan, so hooray for that.

Review: Yoplait Plenti Black Cherry Plentiful Greek Yogurt
I'm going to jump ahead a little bit as I tackle yet another Yoplait Plenti review with something that really focuses on what you'll see in the photo after the jump. Apparently Yoplait (General Mills) has decided to join the "Keep Calm and ______" movement and add the tagline to the underside of top of their yogurt containers. I can't tell you how insane that drive me. The "Keep Calm and Carry On" slogan has an interesting history, but some marketer took it and used it for other purposes. Then other marketers thought this was a good idea and here were are today with that slogan spread EVERYWHERE and way overused. It drives me insane to the point where it actually makes me angry and I rant on a food blog about it where no one cares. All over a goofy little slogan. And...wait...I'm just going to stop here before I go off the deep end and get into the review. Anyway, I picked up this single serving container of Yoplait Plenti Black Cherry Plentiful Greek Yogurt at Kroger for $1.00 and it comes in at 5.3 ounces packed in with 140 calories and twelve grams of protein.

Review: Ehrmann Mixim Fat-Free Greek Yogurt with Cherry and Dark Chocolate Curls
My last Ehrmann review mentioned that this was a new product that popped up in my store. I have mentioned many times previously how I always like to see new products sneak up in the store on me, because when that happens, I often binge shop and buy several options of that product and that's what leads me to today's review of this Ehrmann Mixim Fat-Free Greek Yogurt with Cherry and Dark Chocolate Curls that I picked up at Kroger for $1.29. This extremely long named product clocks in at 5.3 ounces of separated weight and within all that separation, it contains 160 calories and ten grams of protein.

Review: Yoplait Whips! Cherry Cheesecake Yogurt
It's frequently hard for me to tell whether I've reviewed a product or not and instead of doing the proper thing (checking the website first), I rely on my memory to recall whether I've reviewed a product or not. As I found out recently with a bunch of CLIF bars that I bought, that memory is often faulty and I ended up buying things that I have reviewed before. Oops. I ran into that situation recently when I went in to Marsh armed with a coupon for a free cup of Yoplait yogurt. As I was perusing the yogurt case, I was unsure of what flavors I had reviewed before in my deep catalog of Yoplait reviews. Even with that uncertainty in my head, I decided to take a game and hope that I had not reviewed this Yoplait Whips! Cherry Cheesecake Yogurt before. Fortunately, I hadn't and here we are today. Anyway, I picked up this Whips! (mousse-like yogurt) for free as I mentioned and the yogurt cup itself comes in at 4.0 ounces and has 140 calories with five grams of protein.

Review: Mamma Chia Blueberry & Dark Chocolate with Chia Bar
Fresh Thyme has brought me a lot of new and interesting products to review for the blog and I've continuously hammered on those in reviews over the preceding months. Today brings me another one of those reviews as I take a look at this Mamma Chia Blueberry & Dark Chocolate with Chia Bar, which is produced by a manufacturer making its first appearance here on the blog. Their tagline is to "Seed Your Soul" which is a witty play on the fact that the bar is made with chia seeds in case you didn't pick up on that. That chia is also part of a "Chia Vitality Bar" so there's that additional kick of life too. Anyway, I picked this up for $1.99 at the aforementioned Fresh Thyme and it comes in at 1.4 ounces with 180 calories and three grams of protein. It's also gluten free, kosher and organic.

Review: Mediterra Yogurt & Oat Bar with Cherry & Pistachio
Fresh Thyme strikes again! It's another new product from my first trip to the store itself. In that trip, I picked up a very interesting, Mediterranean inspired product when I grabbed this Mediterra Yogurt & Oat Bar with Cherry & Pistachio off the shelf for $1.99. The bar itself is 1.6 ounces and packs in 180 calories and seven grams of protein. It's also all natural and gluten free, so there are some clear benefits to this one. I wish one of the benefits would be that when eating this bar, I would automatically be transported to a beach (preferably nude) somewhere in the Mediterranean. Probably not going to happen though, unfortunately. Instead, I'll just have to settle for testing out this bar.

Review: Stonyfield Organic Petite Creme Mon Cherry Amour Low Fat Sweet Fresh Cheese
Today's review is a big moment in the Stonyfield Organic Petite Creme review history. It's one of the last flavors that I've actually seen in my store and it's also the one that I've been looking most forward to because of what the flavor actually is consists of (black cherry). So, it was with a high sense of anticipation and eagerness that I grabbed this single serving container of Stonyfield Organic Petite Creme Mon Cherry Amour Low Fat Sweet Fresh Cheese out of the dairy case at my local Meier for $1.25. This 5.3 ounce container comes in at 130 calories and packs in ten grams of protein into its cheese.

Review: Dannon Creamery Cherry Cheesecake Dairy Dessert
I mentioned in my last Dannon Creamery review that the thought of these products just intrigues me, so today I'm plowing through yet another one that I picked up in the same sale at Meijer (I've said it a million times, but gosh, I love sales) for $1.25. This time, I'll be taking a look at this container of Dannon Creamery Cherry Cheesecake Dairy Dessert. Each container is 5.3 ounces and has 190 calories and eight grams of protein. Also like I mentioned last time, it's notable that these are Greek yogurt based because you won't be able to find any indication of that on the actual container (I only found it on the website). With the Greek yogurt craze, I would think Dannon would proudly display that to try to take advantage of that wave to sell more of these. It's just bizarre to me that they are doing nothing with that.

Review: CLIF Kit's Organic Cherry + Pumpkin Seeds Fruit + Seed Bar
I've been trying to branch out a bit more recently and one of the ways I've been doing that is trying to hit up stores that I don't ordinarily visit. Earth Fare is one of those stores and on a lot of those visits, I find new products that I have never seen in my normal stores. That said, CLIF products are certainly not new to me as I've done a ton of reviews on them, but Earth Fare did allow me to find a bar from one of the lines that I don't typically see in my normal stores. Anyway, I picked up this CLIF Kit's Organic Cherry + Pumpkins Seeds Fruits + Seed Bar for $1.49 and the bar itself is 1.7 ounces with 170 calories and four grams of protein.

Review: Noosa Aussie-style Tart Cherry Yoghurt
So, Noosa is three-for-three in positive product reviews here on the blog. I'm not a brain surgeon, nor a rocket scientist, but even I know that a 100% success rate is pretty good. With that success and sense of delighted anticipation, I was anxious to dive into the other container of yoghurt that picked up on sale for $2.00 at Kroger as I take a look at this 8.0 ounce container of Noosa Aussie-style Tart Cherry Yoghurt. Each container is 280 calories and has fourteen grams of protein.

Review: Elisabeth Hasselbeck's NoGii Nuts About Berries No Gluten Paleo Bar
Some people might be able to argue that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has invaded the hearts, minds and souls of our life. I would argue that she's invaded my local Marsh grocery store as I've picked up yet another bar for review. This time, I'll be taking a look at the Elisabeth Hasselbeck's NoGii Nuts About Berries No Gluten Paleo Bar that I was able to get at that aforementioned Marsh for $2.49. This bar is 1.50 ounces and 180 calories with four grams of protein. It's gluten free and paleo as well, so there you have it.

Review: CLIF Mojo Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond Trail Mix Bar
The invasion of new CLIF reviews from the Mojo product line continues today! Yippee! Today's review comes from the same shopping splurge as the prior reviews as I was able to pick up this CLIF Mojo Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond Trail Mix Bar on sale at Kroger for $1.00, just like the others. This gluten free and somewhat organic bar clocks in at 1.41 ounces with 180 calories and for grams of protein. It's got that dark chocolate thing going for it too, so if you are looking for antioxidants, this presents itself as an option.

Review: Pure Organic Cherry Cashew Bar
My first experience with Pure's line of organic bars was so positive and delicious that I dove right into trying out another one the day after trying out the first. That eagerness leads me to today's review of this Pure Organic Cherry Cashew Bar. Like the last, I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $1.67 and it comes in at 1.7 ounces with 190 calories and six grams of protein. In addition to being organic, it's also gluten fee and vegan, so I know my co-worker (mentioned in my previous Pure post) would be right in line for this one too.

Review: That's it. Apples + Cherries Fruit Bar
You have to admit that the name of today's review product lends itself to so many bad and cheesy jokes that I could (and probably will) tell throughout the course of this review. Anyway, I was recently in New York City for business and I was meandering through the streets of the Chelsea neighborhood where my hotel was and stumbled into a Whole Foods Market. I have Whole Foods in my area, but I don't often go there, so this was kind of a "special" trip for me. While in the store (and eating the free loose nuts and candies), I stumbled upon their nutrition bar section and saw this That's it. Apples + Cherries Fruit Bar, which is something that I have never seen in my local stores before. I think this set me back about $1.50 at New York City prices and it was 1.2 ounces with 100 calories and one gram of protein. It's super healthy since it is only two ingredients (That's it...get it?), so it's all natural, gluten free, kosher, vegan, non-fat, raw and all that jazz.

Review: Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Multigrain Fruit & Nut Bars
I already touched on one of Quaker's attempts at turning single serving oatmeal cups into fruit and nut bars in a prior review, but today I figured that I might as well try it again. In the same purchasing trip that generated the last review, I was able to pick up this box of five Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Multigrain Fruit & Nut Bars at Meijer for $3.00. Each bar inside this box comes in at 1.36 ounces and has 170 calories of multigrain fun (well, I guess my review will be judge of that).

Review: Private Selection Amaretto Cherry Cordial Ice Cream
I went through the whole Private Selection introduction spiel in my last one of these reviews, so I'll spare you the re-hash of that. What I will say though is that the same sale on these Private Selection products at Kroger prompted me to pick up this pint of Private Selection Amaretto Cherry Cordial Ice Cream on sale for $0.99. Each pint contains the typical four servings of gourmet ice cream and each serving comes in at 210 calories. While not exactly healthy, it's not a total belly buster either, so that is nice.

Review: Ananda Squares by Isaac Roberts
Today's review is a little bit different of a review for me. Usually I review products that are available via an actual store location or via the internet. Today's review is a review of something that is trying to make it to those locations via a Kickstarter project. In Ananda Squares' initial e-mail to promote their product (and project) to me, they described their business as this: "We're trying to connect with people who are health concious, gluten-free, Vegetarian, Vegan, and in need of a better source of Amaranth and Quinoa for their diets on the go." In case you are curious and have no idea what amaranth is like I did, it is part of the same family of plants as quinoa, so the correlation made in that introduction makes perfect sense. As part of this promotion, they sent me three miniature versions of their product (typically they are about 3.5" by 3.5" in size; these were about 1" by 1") to try out and I'll address each individually as I go along. Also, their project timeline ends on August 22nd, so if you like what you see here and are interested, feel free to check out their Kickstarter information page for more, including what the final packaging will look like as opposed to my samples above. Their slogan is "Eat Amaranth With Ease" so I guess I'll put that to the test.

Review: Caveman Dark Chocolate Cherry Nut Bar
Perhaps I didn't notice it in my last Caveman Foods review, but the wrapper of the subject of today's review had the tagline of "Paleo Friendly." I had no idea what that meant, so I used my friend the Google machine and found out that it referred to a specific diet known as the Paleolithic diet, or more informally as the caveman diet. Like how the manufacturer tied their name into that? Actually, I write that in jest, but I find it pretty creative to be honest. My admiration of their creativity aside, I picked up this Caveman Dark Chocolate Cherry Nut Bar at Meijer for $1.25. Each all natural, gluten free and peanut free bar is 1.4 ounces and has 190 calories with four grams of protein and three grams of fiber.

Review: SOYJOY Dark Chocolate Cherry Baked Whole Soy & Fruit Bar
When some people here the word soy, it certainly does not bring them joy. For me, it's not so bad. I sometimes get joy from soy and I've done that before in some of my SOYJOY reviews. Okay, okay...I know that was corny, lame, awful or whatever other adjective you want to use to describe that opening. I should be ashamed of something like that, but since I have no shame, I'm okay with it. Shamelessness aside, I picked up this new SOYJOY Dark Chocolate Cherry Baked Whole Soy & Fruit Bar on sale at my local Marsh for $1.00 and each bar is 1.05 ounces with 140 calories and five grams of protein.
