Review: Mamma Chia Blueberry & Dark Chocolate with Chia Bar

Fresh Thyme has brought me a lot of new and interesting products to review for the blog and I've continuously hammered on those in reviews over the preceding months.  Today brings me another one of those reviews as I take a look at this Mamma Chia Blueberry & Dark Chocolate with Chia Bar, which is produced by a manufacturer making its first appearance here on the blog.  Their tagline is to "Seed Your Soul" which is a witty play on the fact that the bar is made with chia seeds in case you didn't pick up on that.  That chia is also part of a "Chia Vitality Bar" so there's that additional kick of life too.  Anyway, I picked this up for $1.99 at the aforementioned Fresh Thyme and it comes in at 1.4 ounces with 180 calories and three grams of protein.  It's also gluten free, kosher and organic.

Review: Slow Food For Fast Lives Moroccan Bar

I've mentioned in previous Slow Food For Fast Lives review that they were generous enough send me a sampling of all their bars and that sampling continues with today's review.  I've had some surprising successes with the bars I've already looked at, but I will fully admit that the thought of this Slow Food For Fast Lives Moroccan Bar scared me after I looked at the listing of ingredients on the wrapper.  I know those ingredients are reflecting of Moroccan culture and that's wonderful, but just the fact that they were all rolled into one package made me a bit apprehensive.  Anyway, the bar itself was 1.4 ounces with 170 calories and four grams of protein.  It's also all natural, gluten free and vegan.

Review: Caveman Cranberry Apricot Bar

I love the name of these Caveman Foods bars and each time I do a review on them, it makes me chuckle.  I also love that they are "paleo friendly" and by being that, they are definitely sticking to the caveman motif that the name of the bar is obviously inferring.  So, with a smile on my face, I decided now would be as good of a time as ever to review this Caveman Cranberry Apricot Bar that I picked up on sale at Meijer for $0.75.  The bar itself is 1.4 ounces and has 190 calories with five grams of protein.

Review: MET-Rx Big 100 Colossal Chocolate Toasted Almond Bar

I've yet to figure out why I continue to buy these MET-Rx bars since I don't use them to build muscle or as meal replacement bars as they are intended, yet I continue to do reviews on them.  My willingness to keep forking over cash on something I don't really want or need leads me to do yet another review with this MET-Rx Big 100 Colossal Chocolate Toasted Almond Bar from their Big 100 Colossal line of bars.  Dubbed as a Meal Replacement bar, this hulking bar clocks in at 3.52 ounces and consists of 410 calories and 31 grams of protein.  One note is that the bar advertises on the front of the packaging that it includes Metamyosn Protein, which admittedly sounds kind of scary because I have no idea what it is.  Still, it can't be all bad, right?  Oh yeah, this was picked up on sale at CVS for $2.00.
