Review: Kellogg's Special K Strawberry Protein Meal Bar
I've had mixed reactions in my previous Kellogg's Special K bar reviews. It's not that I've found them poor tasting, it's just that I've found them to be pretty basic. One would think that with a flavor just called "Strawberry" that the streak of basic reviews would continue, but I was willing to move forward and review it for yours (and my) pleasure. I picked this bar up at Meijer for $1.29 and it clocks in at 1.59 ounces with 170 calories and ten grams of protein. Being that this is a "Protein Meal Bar", you'd expect it to have more protein than just ten grams, but there's not point in arguing over semantics.

Review: JELL-O Strawberry Cheesecake Pudding Snack
I've had a lot of previous JELL-O reviews on this blog and as I've said, I'm kind of addicted to their pudding cups. I mostly try to stick to the the sugar free or Mousse Temptations versions of JELL-O, so I could at least claim that they were "healthy", but I've also done some of the other flavors that do have sugar in them, so that argument kind of goes out the window. Since I've lost my "healthy" argument with my prior behavior, I might as well drive right into the unhealthy realm with this next review of a full-on dessert and a dessert that resembles one of the most decadent desserts out there, Strawberry Cheesecake. This one contains 130 calories per four ounce cup and I picked up the package of six cups on sale at Meijer for $2.50.

Review: CLIF Kid Z Bar Chocolate Chip Bar
I've reviewed CLIF Kid Z Bar products before on the blog and this is another in that series. This time, let's look at the Chocolate Chip version of the Z Bar line. As always, these bars are 95% organic and angled toward kids as a healthy snack bar. I'm an adult (at least I think I am), but that's not important. What is important is that this bar weighs in at 1.27 ounces and contains 130 calories. I picked this one up at Kroger for $0.69.

Review: Starbucks Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream
Love them or hate them, Starbucks is always sure to generate a strong reaction from just about anyone that you could come into contact with. Personally, I like their coffee. Granted, I only order coffee and not any of the flavored drinks, so I'm not the most knowledgeable person on the subject. That said, I do think they are slightly overpriced, but I'm willing to pay it for what I feel is pretty solid coffee. So, when I saw that my local Meijer was offering these pints for essentially free (actually $1.97) to clear shelf space for Ben & Jerry's new Greek frozen yogurt, I had to give this Caramel Macchiato flavor a try and see how their coffee products translated into ice cream. Each pint contains four servings at 240 calories per serving and also contains caffeine (it is coffee ice cream, DUH!), by the way.

Review: Quaker Popped Vanilla Creme Brulee Rice Snacks
Editor's Note: While the product has stayed the same, Quaker now markets these under a different named and they are now called "Quaker Popped Rice Snacks." The review below applies the same.
More Quakes flavors! YEA! At this point, you are probably as tired of these reviews as I am, assuming you are a regular reader. But, I made a pledge to myself that I would make my way through every single Quakes flavor that I could find, so I'll keep reviewing them until I run out. The good news is that the end is in sight, so I'll run out eventually. This time though, I'll be looking at the Vanilla Creme Brulee flavor. Clocking in at 120 calories per serving (about three per bag), I picked this one up at Kroger on sale for $1.00.

Review: Larabar Cherry Pie Food Bar
I've had pretty miserable luck with Larabars here on the blog. I've always found the names to be extremely appealing, but the delivery of the taste to be extremely disappointing. Despite this, I continue to produce these Larabar reviews for your enjoyment. Actually, I bought something like ten of them at one time and don't want to be wasteful by throwing them away, so I just review them because I hate wasting things by throwing them out. Anyway, I picked this Cherry Pie bar one up at Mejier for around a dollar and it comes in at 1.7 ounces with 200 calories and five grams of protein. As with all Larabars, it's all natural and made with very few ingredients. In this case, the only ingredients are dates, unsweetened cherries and almonds.

Review: PowerBar Pria Chocolate Peanut Crunch Nutrition Bar
Much to my chagrin, it seems like I am always hungry and in need of a snack. The problem is that there are so many snacks out there that are such caloric bombs (chips, energy bars, etc.) that I don't want to eat them because I don't want the calorie expenditure on that particular item, so I usually just ignore my urges. So, when I'm walking through the store and see something like this PowerBar Pria Chocolate Peanut Crunch nutrition bar and see that it is a non-belly busting 110 calories and costs only $0.69 (at Meijer), I'm immediately intrigued. PowerBar usually has higher calorie energy bars, some of which I've reviewed, so this is a adventure for me in the PowerBar realm. For reference purposes, this one also weighs 0.98 ounces, so it's slightly larger than your standard Quaker Chewy bar.

Review: Dannon Oikos Blueberry 0% Greek Yogurt
Sometimes when I review multiple products from the same product line, I feel like a broken record and that's what I'm starting to feel like with these Oikos product reviews. As a way to mix it up, did you know that Oikos means "house" in Greek? So, the name of the product line of these yogurts is basically Dannon House. Wow, interesting, eh? Okay, maybe not. Anyway, I picked this 5.3 ounce cup of Blueberry 0% Greek yogurt at Marsh for $1.00 and it contains 130 calories and twelve grams of protein, just like the other Oikos yogurts that I've reviewed so far.

Review: Gorton's Grilled Tilapia Roasted Garlic & Butter Fillets
For someone who has not liked fish for most of their life, I've got to admit that I'm starting to like these Gorton's products. I've had more hits than misses and I had a big hit on my last Grilled Tilapia review, so I was anxious to try out another variation of Gorton's frozen seafood (and tilapia) products with these Grilled Tilapia Roasted Garlic & Butter fillets. As you can tell, this is the same product as last time, except they are using a different preparation method as the fillets are coated with butter and roasted garlic. I picked this up on sale at Meijer for $3.99 and each box includes two 3.1 ounce fillets. Each fillet comes in at 80 calories and has fourteen grams of protein.
Review: fullbar Cranberry Almond Bar with a FREE GIVEAWAY!!
**KEEP READING FOR AN EXTREMELY GRACIOUS FREE GIVEAWAY CONTEST AT THE END OF THIS POST!!**
I've done some fullbar reviews on this site and one of those reviews (a negative one) drew the attention of fullbar itself and they contacted me to let me know that they had changed the recipe for their bars and were curious to know whether I would be interested in trying their new bars that use Slendesta in the mix. I replied back and said I would be interested, so they graciously sent me quite a few bars to try out (you'll be seeing those reviews in the future). In case you were unaware, like me, Slendesta is an all natural hunger block chemical that is supposed to help make you feel full. Like I've said here before, being a scientist is not something I do in my spare time, so I'll take their word for it. As for the Cranberry Almond bar itself, it comes in at 1.59 ounces and contains 150 calories and five grams of protein.

Review: Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey Granola Bar
My company has a wellness refrigerator on the premises where they supposedly stock the refrigerator with "healthy" snacks. Of course, their definition of healthy is very much different than mine. While they do have a fair amount of fat free yogurts, fruits, vegetables, etc., they also have a fair amount of ranch dressing, potato chips (Sun Chips, so those are healthy! LOL.), etc. It's like a manic refrigerator in that it could swing either way. Other people's definitions of healthy aside, I was rummaging through there the other day for some lunch and came across this Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey Granola Bar. It's all natural (hey, healthy!) and clocks in at 1.5 ounces, 190 calories and contains a relatively minuscule four grams of protein. They market this as an energy bar though, so protein is not the true aim of this.

Review: Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Raspberry Cereal Bar
Most days for lunch, I grab an apple and some grapes out of my company's wellness refrigerator and I am set. Occasionally though, they run out of those things because some people took too much (occasionally guilty) or they just haven't had a grocery run in a while and the stock has just run out. On those occasions, I have to grab some sort of pre-packaged product like raisins or in this case, the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Raspberry cereal bar. Since I didn't pay for this myself, I can't tell you specifically how much it costs, but I think you can usually pick them up at the store for around $3.00 for an eight bar box. As for the rest of the bar, it weighs in at a nice sized 1.3 ounces and contains 120 calories per bar. It touts itself as a good source of fiber and being that it has 10% of your daily fiber allotment (based on the typical 2,000 calorie diet), I would say that is a fair statement being made by Kellogg's.

Review: Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar
I've had positive experiences with the ballyhooed Magnum bars that I've reviewed on this blog. Since I had such positive experiences with the first two bars, I was anxious to try out the Double Caramel bar and see how it stacked up against the White Chocolate and Almond bars that I had already tried out. Caramel and chocolate are a wonderful flavor combination, so I was very eager to try this out. I picked up a three pack of these bars at Meijer on sale for $3.00. Each bar weighs 3.38 ounces and has 320 calories of sinfulness.

Review: Kashi GOLEAN Peanut Butter & Chocolate Protein & Fiber Bar
As I've mentioned in previous Kashi reviews, I haven't exactly had the best luck with Kashi products and have found them all to be miserable. That said, I was curious to try this Chocolate & Peanut Butter Protein & Fiber bar because really, how hard can it be to screw up chocolate and peanut butter? Well, I guess that's why I do reviews...to find out if it is hard. I picked this one up at Meijer for $1.29 and it's all nautral, weighs 1.94 ounces and has 200 calories, ten grams of protein and five grams of fiber to help with...well, you know.

Review: Yoplait Blueberry Greek Yogurt
Because of its health benefits, I'm desperately trying to like Greek yogurt. Because of this, I've reviewed several Chobani products and several Yoplait products. I don't doubt there will be more coming too. In this quest, I am led to the Yoplait Blueberry Greek yogurt. As with most Greek yogurts, it has zero fat and a heavy amount of protein (in this case, the container proclaims it is two times as much as regular yogurt). Just to be "official", here are the hard stats on this one: six ounce container, 160 calories and twelve grams of protein. I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $0.89.

And here we are for another JELL-O Sugar Free Mousse Temptations review! This one is for the Chocolate Indulgence flavor that contains sixty calories per four ounce cup and comes in packages of six, just like the others. Also like the others, I picked this one up at Meijer on sale for $2.50.

Review: MET-Rx Big 100 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar
These MET-Rx Big 100 bars crack me up because of how huge they are. I guess I just get a vision in my head of some meathead chomping down on one of these after a mega workout to replace the protein in his body and recover from his heavy lifting. I'm no meathead, but I did try Big 100 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar out about an hour after a workout. I mentioned how huge these things are (they also double as "meal replacement" bars) and they clock in at 3.52 ounces and 370 calories with 28 grams of protein. I picked this one up on sale at CVS for about $2.50.

Review: Quaker Chewy Yogurt Blueberry Granola Bar
Sometimes I think I should re-name this site to Quaker Food Dude with the amount of Quaker products, including Chewy bars, that I have reviewed and also have stored up in unposted reviews. When I really look at it, it is absurd. But, if Quaker continues to churn out products that I am interested in, then I will continue to review them. Since I had a coupon and was interested in another one of their new(ish) products, I picked up a box of five of these Chewy Yogurt Blueberry Granola bars on sale for $2.00 at Meijer. Each bar is 1.23 ounces (nearly 50% bigger than a standard 0.84 ounce Chewy bar) and has 150 calories.
Review: Lean Cuisine Simple Favorites Sante Fe-Style Rice & Beans
I know it seems like all I review on that blog are bars, yogurt and ice cream, with the occasional veggie dish thrown in, but I'm trying to branch out more and do more reviews of "typical" food products that are angled more toward the calorie watching crowd. I've done some Weight Watchers product reviews, but this is my first Lean Cuisine review and I'm focusing on on of their Simple Favorites collection of products in this Santa Fe-Style Rice & Beans. I have no idea what "Santa Fe-Style" means specifically, but I'm guessing it means that this is a Mexican dish. Regardless, I picked this meal up at Meijer on sale for $2.00 and in the 10 3/8 ounce entree, there are 290 calories. Since these products are for the calorie counters, it scores a seven on the Weight Watchers Plus points scale. There's no preservatives in here too and since this is a frozen meal, I'm not sure how that is possible, but whatever.

Review: Planters NUT-rition Energy Bar
Planters knows peanuts, so in the least shocking development of all time, they have a line of Nut-rition products that focus on peanuts. I've already reviewed the Antioxidant bar before, so this time I'm taking a look at the Energy bar version of the Nut-rition line. I picked this up in a box of five for around $3.00 at Meijer. Each bar weighs 1.23 ounces and is 170 calories with five grams of protein. That seems like a small amount of protein for something based on nuts, but I'm not a scientist, nutritionist or particularly smart, so I can't tell you exactly why that is the case. One other thing that I find funny is that the packaging specifically says that this is a "Chewy Nut Bar" yet aren't nuts supposed to be crunchy? Weird.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Ice Cream
At this point, I'm thinking of changing my name to either Ben or Jerry since I've reviewed so many Ben & Jerry's products on this blog and have a bunch of reviews stocked up as well. I must have been feeling psychedelic or have been thinking about illegal substances on a recent trip to my local Meijer as I picked up a pint of this Phish Food ice cream along with a pint of Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler (more on that one in the future) on sale for $3.00 each. This Phish Food pint consists of 280 calories per serving and contains a laughable four servings in the pint, so it's on the upper end of the caloric chart for Ben & Jerry's flavors.

Review: Pure Protein Chewy Chocolate Chip Bar
Next up in my semi-comprehensive review series of the the Pure Protein bar offerings is the Chewy Chocolate Chip variety. I'm a huge lover of chocolate chip cookies (who isn't?) and any time I can get the chocolate chip cookie taste in a product other than the actual cookie itself, I'm always a big fan. Logging in 200 calories and 20 grams of protein, this one is not a freebie, but it's not a calorie killer either. I picked this one up at Meijer for $1.29.

Review: Quaker Popped Apple Cinnamon Rice Snacks
I'll admit it...there are some of these Quakes flavors that I've been holding out on reviewing. I want to get through the riff-raff flavors and only spread some special flavors throughout the riff-raff so that they have that much more meaning. Is this one of those instances?. Let's find out. These Quaker Quakes Apple Cinnamon rice snacks are 120 calories per serving (about three per bag) and I purchased them on sale at Meijer for $1.00.
Now, before I review this, I will say that apples and cinnamon are two of my favorite things in the world, so I have high expectations on this one. There is nothing better than throwing some apples in a saute pan along with some cinnamon and letting them simmer to the point that the apples are soft and infused with cinnamon. It's a beautiful combination and Quaker's attempt to put this into Quake form should be right up my ally.

Review: Stonyfield Organic Oikos Superfruits 0% Fat Greek Yogurt
I've hit a lot of Greek yogurts on this blog, but this is review number one of any of the Stonyfield Greek yogurt products. This is from their organic Oikos line and if anything is begging to be the inaugural review based on its name alone, it's this one, the Superfruits flavor from their Fruit on the Bottom version of their Oikos line. I think I'm particularly super in my own mind, so it's only fitting that I do a review on this one. I picked this one up at Kroger for $1.25 and it weighs in at 1.25 ounces with 130 calories and it has thirteen grams of protein.

Review: PowerBar Harvest Toffee Chocolate Chip Energy Bar
My first PowerBar review here at the blog was quite successful. While that bar was from their Recovery line of products, I found that bar to be similar to a candy bar, so I was excited to try out one of their different product lines and dig into this Harvest Toffee Chocolate Chip energy bar. I knew it wouldn't be like a candy bar because of its composition and appearance, but as someone who appreciates toffee flavoring (it's not for everyone), I was anxious to see how this flavor would translate to this bar. I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $1.00 and it weighs in at 2.29 ounces with 250 calories and ten grams of protein. It's made of "natural" flavor and PowerBar designates that it should be used before or during a workout/physical activity (stage one or stage two according to their three stage workout scale).
Review: Dean's Mackinac Island Fudge Ice Cream
I haven't exactly been fond of Dean's ice cream in my previous reviews, but like the glutton for punishment (or maybe just glutton in general) that I am, I was willing to give yet another Dean's flavor a try. This time, it was Mackinac Island Fudge. Previously, I had only reviewed their Country Churn (lower fat/calories) ice cream, so this is the first time that I've reviewed a full-on ice cream flavor of theirs. I don't know that it'll make a difference, but I guess that is what I and all of us will find out! I picked this one up on sale for $3.00 for the 1.5 quart container at Meijer. Each serving in the container contains 160 calories and there's roughly twelve servings in each container.

Review: Good Greens Plus Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar
One of the benefits of this blog is that I sometimes get contacted by public relations representatives of companies trying to establish a positive online presence for their brand. Sometimes this is in response to a positive review and other times, it is to rebut a negative review. Only once have I been contacted to review a product that I have never heard of before and that's what happened when Good Greens contacted me and asked me to review their well regarded products. Being that I'm willing to try just about anything, I agreed to give some of their products a shot and the company sent me four bars to try out and I'll start out with the Chocolate Peanut Butter bar. This one weighs in 1.76 ounces and is made up of 195 calories and ten grams of protein. It's all natural and raw, along with being gluten free and vegan, so it's got a lot going on. Before I get to the review, I just want to point out that there will be a giveaway at the end of this post, so you'll want to keep reading to the end!
Review: Walden Farms Caramel Syrup
If you ever take a look at the Walden Farms website, you can see that they have A LOT of calorie free products. Because of this and my propensity for saving calories, you are going to see A LOT of reviews on these products and next on the list is the Caramel Syrup. If there's one thing I love, it is caramel flavored food, so this one was right up my alley. I picked this twelve ounce container up at Kroger for $3.69.

Review: LUNA Peanut Honey Pretzel Bar
We've been through this before in LUNA reviews...I know I'm not a woman, but that doesn't stop me from trying out these bars, especially when some of them have been so good. Recently, I stumbled across one of my favorite things in the world (free giveaways) on the website FreeStuffTimes.com and saw that there was a giveaway for LUNA's new Peanut Honey Pretzel bar, so I hurriedly signed myself up and a few weeks later, this arrived in the mail. So, I don't have a price since I didn't pay for it, but I do know that it weighs 1.69 ounces, has 190 calories and also nine grams of protein.
Review: fullbar Peanut Butter Crunch Bar
Up next with my review of the fullbar product line is another flavor offering, the Peanut Butter Crunch Bar. This bar is the standard 1.59 ounces and I picked it up on sale at CVS for $1.25. It contains 170 calories, six grams of protein and four grams of fiber. As a quick recap, this purpose of fullbars is that if you eat one of them and drink sixteen ounces of water thirty minutes prior to eating your meal, this bar is supposed to make you feel more full so that you eat less. I kind of doubt that claim, but have to admit, I did not really feel as hungry as usual after the last one of these that I ate, so maybe there is something to this.

Review: Skinny Cow Chocolate Fudge Brownie Low Fat Ice Cream Single Serving Cup
I haven't done a lot of reviews on Skinny Cow products on this blog, but there have been some. That said, I'm going to try to start doing more of these as they have quite a variety of products out there and also have a pretty big brand name (with Nestle backing) in terms of trying to push their low fat treat products into the market. So, that leads me to this single serving cup of their Chocolate Fudge Brownie Low Fat Ice Cream. I picked this one up at CVS on sale for $1.25 and it is 150 calories per 5.8 ounce single serving. For those Weight Watchers folks, this one is four points on the Points Plus scale.
Review: Chobani Champions Honey-nana Greek Yogurt
Full disclosure here as I start: I HATE bananas. I have hated them every single day of my entire life, so it would seem pretty odd that I'm reviewing a banana product then, right? Well, the only reason I am reviewing this one is because I'm an idiot and picked this one up by accident because I wasn't paying close enough attention and thought it was honey vanilla. So, because of my stupidity, I'm going to offer a hopefully non-biased review of one of Chobani's offerings from their new Champions line of Greek yogurt that is aimed toward kids, the Honey-nana flavor. I picked this one up for $3.29 at Marsh (side note: each Champions product at Marsh had a different price level; weird) and each package contains four 3.5 ounce cups of Greek yogurt. Each cup is 100 calories and has eight grams of protein and actually has fat, as opposed to most Greek yogurts.

Review: Dannon Light & Fit Strawberry Cheesecake Yogurt
In the past, I've spent three different reviews on Dannon's Light & Fit yogurt line (Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry). All of those reviews have revolved around their 32 ounce containers and not necessarily their smaller six ounce containers. Without further delay, it's time to switch it up and review one of those six ounce flavors, Strawberry Cheesecake! I picked this one up for $0.50 from Marsh and each container contains 80 calories of zero fat yogurt. Since it's 80 calories and zero fat, it's a virtual diet freebie!

Review: Larabar Cashew Cookie Food Bar
I haven't had a lot of success with Larabar reviews here on this blog before. I always find the names/descriptions of their products so enticing but they always end up failing to deliver. I keep reviewing them though because one of them is bound to fulfill it's promise, right? So, this adventure leads me to the Cashew Cookie bar. I picked this one up for $1.00 at Kroger and its vital statistics include a weight of 1.7 ounces, 230 calories and six grams of protein. Also, like most Larabars, this one is scared of the world as it is gluten free, dairy free, soy free, Non-GMO, vegan and also Kosher. Whew, I'm exhausted after typing that.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Triple Caramel Chunk Ice Cream
I'm sure you'll find this surprising, but I've got another Ben & Jerry's review. Somehow, after all these reviews, I've managed to only put on a few pounds, which I see as a borderline miracle considering how many desserts, protein bars and other crap that I've eaten. That said, next up in what is most likely a never ending quest to try every single Ben & Jerry's flavor (banana flavors not included; I just can't do banana), I'm brought to the Triple Caramel Chunk flavor. A triple dose of caramel flavor! Well, any caramel, much less triple caramel, is enough to pull me in, so I was led to this one like a sheep to slaughter. I picked this one up at Meijer on sale for $3.00 for the pint and each pint contains four servings (yeah right) at 280 calories per serving.

Review: Tiger's Milk Peanut Butter Nutrition Bar
This is not my first Tiger's Milk bar review on this blog. My last review gave me a boring bar that did nothing particularly outstanding and made me wonder how America's first nutrition bar had stayed in business for so long. Since I picked up that bar at Walmart for $0.99 along with this Peanut Butter flavored bar, I've got another review to do. Based on my last review, it's not exactly a review that I was looking forward too. That said, let's get to it...this King Size bar clocks in at 1.94 ounces and contains 230 calories with nine grams of protein.
Review: Kozy Shack No Sugar Added Tapioca Pudding
Not only do I have a strange infatuation with pudding, I even have a stranger love/infatuation with Tapioca pudding. I'm not sure whether it is because I like the texture of the pudding with the Tapioca morsels in it or I just like the way that it tastes (or maybe both), but I try and get my hands on it whenever I can. I wasn't impressed with Kozy Shack last time I tried one of their products, but when I see sugar free versions of one of my favorite types of pudding, they've got me hook, line and sinker and that's why I picked up this four pack of Kozy Shack's Sugar Free Tapioca pudding at Meijer on sale for $2.00. Each four pack consists of four ounce cups that come it at 70 calories per cup.

Review: Zone Perfect Sweet & Salty Cashew Pretzel Nutrition Bar
Zone Perfect has had a good reputation here on the blog so far. In prior reviews, I've reviewed their bars previously and just drooled over some of them. This time, I'm venturing out into a different product line of theirs, the Sweet & Salty Zone Perfect bars and specifically, the Cashew Pretzel flavor. This one clocks in 1.58 ounces with 200 calories and a respectable ten grams of protein. I picked it up at Kroger on sale for $1.00.
Review: Yoplait Peach Greek Yogurt
It's funny, writing for this blog leads me to eat an absurd amount of variations of the exact same product and/or product line. All of my Greek yogurt reviews are a great indicator of this. Once again, I've got another Yoplait Greek yogurt review for the series of reviews, and this one is the Peach flavor. As with the others, this one is in a six ounce container, has zero fat, 160 calories and packs a walloping fourteen grams of protein. I picked this one up on sale at Meijer for $1.00.

Review: Quaker Popped Kettle Corn Rice Snacks
Editor's Note: While the product has stayed the same, Quaker now markets these under a different named and they are now called "Quaker Popped Rice Snacks." The review below applies the same.
In my continuing series of trying out Quaker's Quakes Rice Snacks, next on the agenda was the Kettle Corn variety. At 110 calories per serving and a tagline promising a sweet and salty crunch, I figure you are getting the best of all worlds. You can cure your sweet tooth, your need for crunchy foods and the occasional need for something salty with a little bite. It solves all cravings at once. Well, let's find out (FYI, I got these on sale at Meijer for about $1.00).

Review: Chobani Champions Vanilla Chocolate Chunk Greek Yogurt
It's been a busy year for Chobani. They've introduced several new flavors, two of which I've reviewed here, and are now introducing a Greek yogurt line aimed toward kids in their Champions line of yogurt, which is the first Greek yogurt line marketed exclusively toward kids. I'm not a kid physically, but some would argue that I'm a kid mentally, so I felt it was okay for me to try out one of these Champions line of Greek yogurts and that led me to this Vanilla Chocolate Chunk flavor. There are several things about this Champions line that are different from their regular Greek yogurt line. First of all, these only come in four packs (at least it was that way in my local store) as opposed to singles. Secondly, each of these yogurt cups comes in a size of 3.5 ounces as opposed to the standard six ounces of the regular cups. Lastly (or as much as I could tell), each of these yogurt cups DOES contain fat and is not zero percent yogurt like the regular Greek yogurt. So, armed with that I was ready to give this a try. For the mathematicians out there, each 3.5 ounce yogurt cup had 110 calories and eight grams of protein and I picked this up for $3.85 for the four pack at Marsh (FYI, Marsh's prices typically run higher than other area stores, so it may be cheaper in your store).

Review: Marathon powered by Snickers Smart Stuff Crunchy Chocolate Crisp Bar
Any time you see a product in the stores that is going for the health market that carries the Snickers brand name, you kind of privately (excuse the pun) snicker to yourself. The enemy candy bar of every health food addict/expert in the world trying to enter the market. Well, Mars Company is trying to do just, despite the fact that they are trying to become health friendly by limiting their typical candy bars to less than 250 calories starting in 2013. In my previous Marathon powered by Snickers review of their Chewy Peanut Butter Energy Bar, I actually found it to be quite good, albeit a bit costly. With that as my basis I was intrigued to try out this Smart Stuff Crunchy Chocolate Crisp Bar that I found in the aisles at CVS recently for $0.99. It's 1.23 ounces and comes in with 140 calories and five grams of protein. The packaging says that it has no artificial flavors or colors, so I guess that throws a bone to the health experts, right?

Review: MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burgers
I think I mentioned in a previous post that I bought a lot of these MorningStar Farms products all at the same time due to a triple coupon event at my local Marsh, so this review of the Spicy Black Bean Veggie burgers is one of the many that I've done or plan on doing. These "burgers" come in a box of four patties with two patties to an individually wrapped package within the box. I guess MorningStar Farms feels that you should be eating two of these at once and being that they are 2.36 ounces and 120 calories per patty, that's not necessarily a bad thought. With the coupon, I picked these up for $3.00.

Review: KIND Almond & Apricot Fruit & Nut Bar
This is not the first KIND review on this blog. In the last review, I appreciated the mix of crunch and sweetness that made up the bar. It was a delightful snack bar, so I was anxious to see if this new variety, the Almond & Apricot Fruit & Nut bar, could get the same sort of reaction out of me. Ordinarily, I'm not a fan of apricots, but I was willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt since the last review was so positive and the fact that I got this one for free again through a KINDING Mission at KIND's website. Just for kicks, here's the hard numbers on this one: all natural, 1.4 ounces, 190 calories and three grams of protein.

Review: JELL-O Sugar Free Mousse Temptations Chocolate Mint Sensation
I've been a little apprehensive about reviewing this flavor because I'm not a fan of the chocolate and mint combination. I obviously love chocolate and I like mint, but whenever the two are put together, I just don't like it. For example, there is no more disgusting ice cream in the world to me than mint chip. I'm just repulsed by it. Still, I figured that since I've reviewed a lot of JELL-O's products, I might as well be comprehensive and review this one as well. I picked up a six pack of these Chocolate Mint Sensation pudding cups at Meijer on sale for $2.50. Each four ounce cup contains sixty calories and is sugar free.

Review: Odwalla Original Super Protein Bar
In my first Odwalla review, I was struck by how much the bar looked and tasted like a CLIF Bar, so I was curious to see whether that look/taste would be the same in this review of the Odwalla Original Super Protein bar. Being that it says out the packaging that it is a fruit and cereal grain bar, I wasn't quite certain. I picked this one up at Meijer for $1.09, it weighs 2.0 ounces, contains 210 calories and the "super" protein consists of fourteen grams of protein. That's not real "super" to me...in fact, fourteen grams of protein is fairly pedestrian for a protein bar. Anyway, onto the review...

Review: Quaker Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bar
Today is National Peanut Butter Lover's Day, so it's only fitting to celebrate with a peanut butter treat! After my first Quaker Chewy review of the Peanut Butter Granola bar, Quaker Chewy itself found my stunningly found my review and I was stunned that they posted on my Twitter feed (I didn't link reviews then like I do now). They said that if I loved the Peanut Butter bar, I would really love the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bar. My reply said that I had eaten before and would review it in the future, so here we go! This bar is the standard sized 0.84 ounce bar and contains 100 calories. Like all of these, I picked it up in a 48 count variety pack, so I can't really attach an individual unit price.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Cheesecake Brownie Ice Cream
Ben & Jerry's always comes up with new flavors. That sentence really has no bearing on this review at all other than to say that there will continue to be a lot of Ben & Jerry's reviews here because I like to try new foods and I want to be as comprehensive as possible on this site. Because of that, I'm led to the Cheesecake Brownie flavor of Ben & Jerry's premium ice cream. Cheesecake is something that I do like, but don't eat often and having had Culver's various incarnations of cheesecake custard and not being particularly impressed by it, I was wondering if those same feelings would carry over to Ben & Jerry's attempt. Cheesecake Brownie is 250 calories per serving (four per pint) and I picked this one up at Meijer on sale for $3.00.
