Review: Kellogg's Special K Berry Medley Bars

Recently I took a look at one of the new products that Kellogg's Special K had rolled out in their snack bars line and since it seems as if they rolled out their new products in a pair, I'm now going to take a look at these Kellogg's Special K Berry Medley Bars.  I picked these up on sale at Marsh for $1.99 and each box contains six bars that weigh in at a tiny 0.88 ounces and has a minimal 100 calories with two grams of protein (they are a snack bar after all).  Since this is pretty much the definition of a process and manufactured food, there's no sorts of all natural or anything tag lines to throw on here, which is kind of funny.  Still, that doesn't bother me one bit because I'm the same guy that willing throws candy, cookies, ice cream and beer into my body on a fairly regular basis, so I'm not exactly the bastion of health...I just sometimes eat healthy foods.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Blueberry Bliss Bars

We all know Kellogg's is a machine and I've covered that ad nauseam on this blog in countless Kellogg's reviews.  Well, the machine has pumped out another one for it's Special K line as I picked up a box of six of these Kellogg's Special K Blueberry Bliss Bars on sale recently at Kroger for a bargain basement price of $1.99.  Basically, these bars only serve a purpose as a snack bar because despite the fact that they are bundled under the Special K line, they really are just manufactured junk under the guise of being healthy.  That said, each bar in the box is a tiny 0.88 ounces and packs a small 100 calories and two grams of protein.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Blondie Brownie Bites

I've reviewed my fair share of healthy and unhealthy foods on this blog and usually it is fairly easy to determine which of those categories a particular food product falls into.  The source of today's review leaves me kind of torn.  On one hand, I've looked at several Special K products in the past and those typically fall into the healthy category.  But, when you look at the product name of this Kellogg's Special K Blondie Brownie Bites, nothing about it says healthy and that's why I can't figure out how to group it.  So, I guess I won't worry about it and will just treat it as a review and that's it.  Not sure why I felt the need to describe my internal conflict there, but hey, it's my blog and my show I suppose.  Anyway, I picked up this box for $2.99 at Marsh.  Each box contains six pouches that come in at 0.74 ounces per pouch and each pouch has 100 calories.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Butter Popcorn Chips

I've drilled on the Kellogg's Special K chips line many times before and today's review is of a product that I think may have been out for a while, but it is "NEW" because of the inclusion of real butter taste (or so they say).  Anyway, I picked up this box of Kellogg's Special K Butter Popcorn Chips at Kroger on sale for $2.99 and each box weighs in 4.5 ounces and has about 4.5 servings per box (about 28 chips) at 120 calories a serving.  Basically that means that this is a low calorie and "guilt free" (or less guilt) type of snack.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Moments Dreamy Coconut Indulgent Snack Bites

I touched on these new Indulgent Snack Bites in a prior review and since I do everything in pairs, I figured today was as good of a day as any to knock out another Kellogg's Special K review by taking a look at this box of eight Kellogg's Special K Moments Dreamy Coconut Indulgent Snack Bites that I was able to pick up in the same sale as the previous box at Meijer for $2.50.  Each bite is 0.56 ounces and comes in a very belt friendly 70 calories per bite.  I won't even bother to touch on the protein total, because honestly, it's not really worth it with a product like this.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Greek Yogurt & Fruit Protein Granola Bars

I mentioned in a previous Special K review that I just love it when Kellogg's sneaks out new bars into the market.  I especially love it when they try to take advantage of the Greek yogurt craze and venture out into that realm with this Kellogg's Special K Greek Yogurt & Fruit Protein Granola Bars box of five bars that I was able to pick up on sale at Marsh for $1.99.  Each bar is 0.95 ounces and has 110 calories with four grams of protein...in a protein bar, although it is a snack bar.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Moments Caramel Pretzel Bliss Indulgent Snack Bites

I've mentioned it many times before, but I'll mention it again...I love the mega conglomerate food producing machine.  Often, they just release different flavors of their same products.  Occasionally, they'll release an entirely new product line and that's what Kellogg's did today as I tack up a new product category to their review catalog with this review of the new Kellogg's Special K Moments Caramel Pretzel Bliss Indulgent Snack Bites that I was able to pick up on sale for $2.50 at Meijer.  Each box contains eight 0.56 ounces bites and each bite is an affordable 70 calories.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Protein Almond Honey Oat Granola Bars

The endless product manufacturing engine that is Kellogg's and it's Special K brand strikes again!  I was in my local Marsh Supermarket recently and upon perusing the granola bar aisle, I saw that Special K had put out a couple more flavor variations of their Special K Protein line that I've touched on before.  Always looking for new content, I grabbed a box of five of these Kellogg's Special K Protein Almond Honey Oat Granola Bars off the shelf in a sale event at a cost of $1.99.  Each bar in the box is 0.95 ounces and 110 calories with four grams of protein.  Not sure how four grams of protein enables them to call this a protein bar, but to each their own I suppose.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Nourish Dark Chocolate Nut Delight Bar

With each passing day, it amuses me even more that the mainstream companies are entering the foray of the "nutrition" bar market.  Kellogg's Special K has several bars already out there that I've hit on in reviews, but they've started pushing their "Nourish" line of products and by expanding upon that line, they've introduced this Kellogg's Special K Nourish Dark Chocolate Nut Delight Bar that I picked up at Kroger for $1.25.  It checks in at 1.58 ounces with 180 calories and eight grams of protein.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Chili Lime Cracker Chips

Every few months Kellogg's Special K sneaks out a new flavor variety of it's cracker chips for me to add to the product review catalog.  I was in Walmart the other day picking up some other things and as I was meandering through the grocery section, I noticed that Special K had done it again by sneaking out this box of Kellogg's Special K Chili Lime Cracker Chips as a new product offering.  I was able to get this 4.0 ounce box for $3.00 and each box contains about 3.5 servings of cracker chips with each serving (about 27 chips) having about 110 calories.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Nourish Lemon Twist Bar

I, like most people, enjoy some nourishment from time-to-time so that makes the subject of today's review right up my alley.  My gosh...I think my introductions are getting cheesier with each passing day, but sometimes it's tough to come up with something fresh for each individual post.  So, I'll be adding to my Kellogg's Special K review catalog with today's review of this Kellogg's Special K Nourish Lemon Twist Bar.  I picked this one up at Kroger for $1.33 and the bar itself is 1.58 ounces with 160 calories and eight grams of protein.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Strawberry Cereal Bars

New product season for Kellogg's Special K continues again (does it ever really end?) and once again, I took the "NEW" bait hook, line and sinker like the fool that I am in order to add to my review archive.  This box of six Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Strawberry Cereal Bars was picked up at Marsh on sale for $2.99 and each bar in the box is 0.81 ounces and 90 calories.  The protein level is virtually non-existent as Kellogg's has chosen to employ the less than operator ("<") on the wrapper, meaning there is less than one gram.  Oh boy...

Review: Kellogg's Special K Protein Dark Chocolate Granola Bars

It must be new car season for Kellogg's and Special K.  Each of my recent trips to the grocery stores in my area have been overloaded with all sorts of Kellogg's products tagged with the "NEW" label.  To keep adding to the neverending catalog of previous Kellogg's reviews, today's review of these Kellogg's Special K Protein Dark Chocolate Granola Bars is one of those shiny new cars.  The question is, will this one have that wonderful new car smell (or taste)?  I guess we'll find out below.  As for the product itself, it came in a box of six on sale for $2.99 at Kroger.  Each bar is 0.95 ounces and has 110 calories and four grams of protein.  Now, I realize this is a snack bar and would indeed be smaller, but something that is marketing itself as part of the "Protein" line of bars has only four grams of protein?!  I just find that comical.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Vanilla Crisp Cereal Bar

The processes of daily life can sometimes repeat continuously and lead life to be kind of vanilla.  If that's the case, it's probably not a good thing for me to sample another product from the Kellogg's catalog that includes vanilla in the potentially boring Kellogg's Special K Vanilla Crisp Cereal Bar that I picked up in my super awesome office snack time recently.  This weighs in at 0.8 ounces and each cereal bar has 90 calories and less than one gram of protein, so basically all you are eating this for is energy.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Cookies & Creme Pastry Crisps

There's an old saying that says something along the lines of if it looks, swims and quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck.  When I grabbed this box Kellogg's Special K Cookies & Creme Pastry Crisps on sale at Marsh for $2.99 and closely reviewed the box and then the crisps themselves, I was reminded of that saying and I'll get to it more in this review of yet another new Kellogg's Special K product.  Like all the boxes of pastry crisps, there are five pouches of crisps per box and each pouch contains two individual crisps.  Each pouch is 0.88 ounces and has 100 calories with less than one gram of protein (LOL), so if you divide that in half, you obviously get the numbers for each individual crisp itself.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Caramel Pastry Crisps

While recently perusing my favorite food-related blogs, I happened upon a post on The Impulsive Buy showing that Kellogg's had released even more products from its pastry crisps line.  I've already hammered on a lot of these and after looking for quite some time to find them in stores, I was finally able to find a box of these Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Caramel Pastry Crisps on sale at Marsh for $2.99.  Each box has five pouches of crisps and each pouch has two crisps and comes in at 0.88 ounces with 100 calories and an almost comical one gram of protein.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Nourish Maple Brown Sugar Crunch Hot Cereal

So apparently Kellogg's has had enough of Quaker hogging the single serve oatmeal cup market and has finally gotten their own product to market to compete in the great oatmeal wars (a creation of my imagination).  That new product introduction leads me to another Kellogg's review as I take a look at this Kellogg's Special K Nourish Maple Brown Sugar Crunch Hot Cereal cup. I got a two-pack on sale at Kroger for $2.99 and each cup in the pack is 1.83 ounces with 190 calories, eight grams of protein and five grams of fiber. It's also a multi-grain blend with quinoa, so that's exciting...not.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Berry Streusel Pastry Crisps

I always think I've reached the end of the line on a certain product line, but then the manufacturers pull me right back in by introducing yet another new flavor.  That's what happened here with this box of Kellogg's Special K Berry Streusel Pastry Crisps that I picked up on sale in a box of five pouches at Marsh for $2.49 to add to my growing Special K review series.  Each pouch contains two thin pastry crisp bars that weigh 0.44 ounces each and each have 50 calories.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Honey Barbecue Cracker Chips

Once again, I'm the victim of a huge food conglomerate constantly introducing new flavors that need to be reviewed like the others have been.  In this case, it's Kellogg's adding yet another flavor to their Special K Cracker Chips line with this Kellogg's Special K Honey Barbecue Cracker Chips that popped up out of nowhere as I was meandering through my local Marsh grocery store recently.  Honey Barbecue seems like a natural flavor to add to the Cracker Chips line as I would guess it is one of the more popular potato chip flavors out there.  This box set me back $2.49 at the sale price and each box comes in at four ounces with 3.5 servings at 110 calories per serving.  As a frame of reference, Kellogg's considers a serving to be roughly 27 cracker chips, so when you think about it, that's actually quite a bit because each of these chips is roughly a little bigger than a silver dollar.

Review: Kellogg's Special K Sweet & Salty Popcorn Chips

A while back during Special K week, I had a request from a reader to review a Special K product that I had not done yet and frankly, the thought of it bored me.  But, I do like to fulfill requests from my loyal readers, so that leads me to this review of the Kellogg's Special K Sweet & Salty Popcorn Chips.  I picked up a box of these at Kroger for $2.49 and the first thing of note is that this box contains more product than the cracker chip boxes as it contains 4.5 ounces of Popcorn Chips as opposed to the 3.5 in the other flavors.  Since this is a bigger box, there are more servings in this box at 4.5 and each serving is 120 calories.  For reference, a serving size is about 28 chips.
