Review: Dannon Oikos Black Cherry Frozen Greek Yogurt

Sometimes a product comes out and doesn't excite me at all, so I never end up buying it.  What is funny is that something as simple as a coupon can all of a sudden excite me and get me to want to purchase something, especially when I can mix that coupon with a sale.  That's what leads me to another Dannon Oikos review as this time I'll be taking a look at a pint of their Dannon Oikos Black Cherry Frozen Greek Yogurt that I was able to pick up on sale at Kroger for $3.00 (before coupon).  This is the first time I've looked at one of their frozen yogurt products and each pint contains the typical four half-cup servings and each serving is a respectable 150 calories of six gram packed protein.

Review: Yasso Coconut Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars

I always see coupons for Yasso Greek frozen yogurt bars in my digital coupon apps and I always clip them with the intention of buying them so that I can give them a shot.  What always happens though is that when I get to the store and see the price (even including the coupon), I am almost automatically turned off because I don't want to pay that much for four bars.  On a recent trip to Kroger, I was armed with the same $1.00 off coupon and when I saw that these Yasso Coconut Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars on sale for $3.00 per box ($2.00 after coupon), I knew that then was the time to finally pick up a box for a review.  Before I dive into the review, I should point out that each bar in this box comes in at 3.5 fluid ounces and each has a very economical and belly friendly 80 calories.  Being that these are Greek yogurt based, this also packs a respectable six grams of protein along with it.  It's also all natural, so yippee!

Review: Kemp's Sea Salt Caramel Truffle Frozen Yogurt

I've touched on Kemp's frozen yogurt products at various times throughout the blog's history.  I'm usually limited by the price and the lack of selection at my local Kroger, but on a recent trip, both of those things were no longer an issue as Kroger added a new flavor option AND also put it on sale.  Combined with a one dollar off coupon via their Kroger mobile app, I was able to pick up a 1.5 quart container of this Kemp's Sea Salt Caramel Truffle Frozen Yogurt for a very respectable $2.99.  Each container has twelve half-cup sized servings and each serving comes in a fairy economical (for a dessert) 140 calories.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Caramel Praline Crunch Yogurt Blends

I've nailed a lot of Edy's (Dreyer's) products here on the blog, but I've never done a review of one of their yogurt blends.  Emboldened by my often uncontrollable sweet tooth, I decided to pick up a 1.5 quart container of one of those yogurts blends on a recent trip to Kroger in order to finally give that portion of their product offerings a try.  This container of Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Caramel Praline Crunch Yogurt Blends set me back $2.99 in a mega sale and it contains the typical twelve half-cup servings of yogurt.  Each half-cup serving clocks in at 120 calories, so it's somewhat healthy (or at least healthier) compared to you typical frozen desserts.

Review: Kemp's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt

I've taken a look at a couple of Kemp's products here on the blog and have had one hit and one miss, which isn't all that surprising to me because I find most of their flavors to be somewhat boring when I look at the varieties in the freezer case.  I wouldn't expect everyone to have the creativity (or craziness depending on how you look at it) of Ben & Jerry's or some of the other manufacturers, but it appears as if Kemp's philosophy is to stick with standard flavor combinations and in the case of this Kemp's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Frozen Yogurt, they appear to have stuck to that philosophy.  I got this 1.5 quart container on sale at Kroger for $3.50 (I additionally had a $1.00 off coupon, so it was a really good deal) and it's the standard twelve half-cup servings per container.  Each serving is 130 calories, so it's a relatively "healthy" frozen treat.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Honey Caramel Greek Frozen Yogurt

Ben & Jerry's has found some degree of success with their frozen Greek yogurt line as they continue to introduce new flavors.  I've found most of their flavors in this line to be fairly traditional, but more often than not, they are tasty and having another dessert option out in the world is another place.  Today's review is one of those new-ish flavors with this Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Honey Caramel Greek Frozen Yogurt that I picked up on sale at Meijer for $2.50.  Being that it is a pint, it has four half-cup servings and each serving is 190 calories of fun.  There have been a massive amount of reviews done by other blogs (some linked below), but I might as well throw my hat into the ring as well.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Liz Lemon Greek Frozen Yogurt

I know I'm a little late to the part on this one, but better late than never, I guess.  Today's review adds to my Ben & Jerry's collection as I take a look at this semi-new flavored inspired by a character on NBC's dearly departed 30 Rock with this pint of Ben & Jerry's Liz Lemon Greek Frozen Yogurt.  Many people on the web have already looked at this one extensively, but I might as well add my review to the pile as well.  This pint has the typical four half-cup servings and each serving in the pint is 180 calories of Greek non-fat frozen yogurt.

News: National Ice Cream Month / Ben & Jerry's Week!

For those of you that don't know, July is National Ice Cream Month.  Basically, for gluttons like myself and some of my fellow ice cream related blog brethren, this is the best time of the year.  In celebration of that, I'm going to spend the next week posting a new daily review of a product from one of the most known ice cream purveyors in the United States as I hit on a different Ben & Jerry's flavor every day.  One caveat though is that not every single review will be of one of their ice cream products.  They've been churning out some frozen Greek yogurt products recently, some of which I've already looked at, so I'll be mixing in a couple of those review in as well.

Also, expect to see a lot of different ice cream/dessert related reviews this month as I try to celebrate this great month in style.  Hope you enjoy!

Review: Yoplait Original Mountain Blueberry Low Fat Frozen Yogurt

Yoplait seems to be really pushing their low fat frozen yogurt line over the past few months.  It seems like every time I log on to one of my digital coupons websites or into my iPhone grocery store apps, I see a new coupon for Yoplait low fat frozen yogurt.  I've tried several of their flavors, but occasionally, one pops up that I haven't grabbed yet (I'll never grab those that include banana, sorry) and that leads me to today's review of this pint of Yoplait Original Mountain Blueberry Low Fat Frozen Yogurt that I grabbed on sale (before the coupon) at Kroger for $2.50.  Each pint is the typical four half-cup servings and each serving is a rather budgetary 110 calories.

Review: Kemp's Low Fat Black Jack Cherry Frozen Yogurt

A long ago on the blog, I reviewed a Kemp's frozen yogurt product.  Being that I was incredibly unimpressed by its taste and the fact that I was also unimpressed by its cost, I was in no hurry to pick up another container.  Recently though,  I was going through my Sunday paper and saw a coupon for Kemp's in the coupon insert in the paper and since coupons cure all ill will in my mind, I was ready to take another dive into reviewing a Kemp's product on the blog.  It certainly didn't help that Kroger had this Kemp's Low Fat Black Jack Cherry Frozen Yogurt on sale for $3.50 for a 1.5 quart container, so after my coupon, I got it for a bargain basement cost of $2.50.  You really can't beat that, so I excitedly grabbed it out of the freezer case. Each half-cup serving in this container (there are twelve) is only 110 calories, so it's very, very economical on that front too.  Sale price, coupon and low calorie...score one for the Crazy Food Dude!

Review: Yoplait Original Cherry Orchard Low Fat Frozen Yogurt

As I mentioned in my last Yoplait frozen yogurt review, I was a bit late to the party in starting to pick these up in the store, but I'm trying to make up for that not by picking them up and getting to reviewing them long after they've been introduced.  With that, I'm led to this Yoplait Original Cherry Orchard Low Fat Frozen Yogurt that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $2.99 for a one pint container.  Each pint contains four half-cup servings as usual and each serving is 120 calories, which to me, is nearly a freebie or at least has less guilt attached to devouring an entire pint in one sitting (which I did not do in this review, thankfully).  What made this even more appealing to me is that I'm a cherry fanatic dating back to childhood.  So much so that I consider the introduction of Cherry Coke to be one of the greatest days of my life (LOL) and I once also requested a cherry birthday cake when I was younger (I don't recommend this...it's not good).  My favorite junk food was also the Hostess Cherry Pies that you could get at the convenience store, so yeah, I had a problem.  I've recovered now, somewhat, but I still do love cherries.

Review: Yoplait Honey Caramel Low Fat Frozen Greek Yogurt

Last year, Yoplait started putting out frozen yogurts, both regular and Greek into the stores.  I've reviewed several Yoplait products but have been way behind the curve on these frozen ones, but I finally picked one up a pint of this Yoplait Honey Caramel Low Fat Frozen Greek Yogurt on a trip to my recent Walmart.  It says that it is new on the container, so while I've been late on the frozen yogurt products in general, maybe I'm not late on this flavor (of course, they could have not changed the packaging yet or this could be an old pint meaning that this one may have been out for a while).  Each pint contains the typical four half-cup servings and each serving is 130 calories.  Basically, that means you can eat an entire pint and not even feel all that guilty.  Okay, perhaps that's not recommended, but it is possible.

Review: TCBY English Toffee Crunch Frozen Yogurt

I admit that I don't have a lot of memories of TCBY and its yogurt shops.  There was one in the rich person mall in the 1980s, but that location closed and then they disappeared for the longest time here in the Indianapolis area (at least according to my memory).  With the recent frozen yogurt craze that is taking over America, there's been a location or two pop up here locally, but they haven't taken over like some of the other chains have done.  One thing TCBY has done that the other chains have not done is introduce a grocery line of product and as I was meandering through Walmart recently looking for some dessert after my stop in the deli, I saw a pint of one of TCBY's new frozen yogurt grocery products with this TCBY English Toffee Crunch Frozen Yogurt that I picked up for $2.98.  As with all pints, it contains four half-cup servings and each serving is a semi-economical 150 calories per serving.

Review: Kemp's Low Fat Chocolate Caramel Brownie Frozen Yogurt

I'm a coupon clipper and not ashamed to admit it, although I'm not obsessive about it like some of those people on those shows.  I try to make it a point to go through the ads in the Sunday paper each week and occasionally I might print a coupon off the internet, but other than that, I don't go too crazy about it.  Anyway, it's that propensity to cut coupons that led me to this review as I saw a $1.00 off coupon in the Sunday paper for this Kemp's Low Fat Chocolate Caramel Brownie Frozen Yogurt.  In addition to my trusty coupon, this was also on sale at my local Kroger, so I was able to pick it up for a fairly solid price of $2.99 for a 1.5 quart container.  As with all containers this size, there's twelve half-cup servings and each serving in this container consists of 130 calories of low fat frozen yogurt.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Strawberry Shortcake Greek Frozen Yogurt

Based on my first review of Ben & Jerry's entry into the Greek yogurt, albeit frozen, war, I was less than excited to dive into this pint of Strawberry Shortcake Greek frozen yogurt.  It's not that the last one was bad, but it just wasn't good or memorable and when you are paying premium prices for Ben & Jerry's products, it better be both of those things.  Since I picked up two of these pints, along with that Blueberry Vanilla Graham pint, I had to make my way through this one as well and that leads to this review.  This Strawberry Shortcake pint was also picked up at Meijer on sale for $3.00 and is 180 calories per serving with the typical four servings per pint.

Review: Ben & Jerry's Blueberry Vanilla Graham Greek Frozen Yogurt

At this point, I might be the last person in the food product review blogosphere that has gotten around to reviewing one of Ben & Jerry's entries into the rapidly growing Greek yogurt market.  Being that Ben & Jerry's makes ice creams (and I've reviewed a bunch of them), it seems only natural that they'd make their entry into the increasingly crowded market with a frozen Greek yogurt.  I've read mixed reviews of each of their new entries, but I'll start here today with the one that sounded most appealing to me, the Blueberry Vanilla Graham flavor.  I picked this pint up on sale at Meijer for $3.00 and it contains four servings at 200 calories per serving.
