Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Caramel Praline Crunch Yogurt Blends

I've nailed a lot of Edy's (Dreyer's) products here on the blog, but I've never done a review of one of their yogurt blends.  Emboldened by my often uncontrollable sweet tooth, I decided to pick up a 1.5 quart container of one of those yogurts blends on a recent trip to Kroger in order to finally give that portion of their product offerings a try.  This container of Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Caramel Praline Crunch Yogurt Blends set me back $2.99 in a mega sale and it contains the typical twelve half-cup servings of yogurt.  Each half-cup serving clocks in at 120 calories, so it's somewhat healthy (or at least healthier) compared to you typical frozen desserts.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned French Silk Light Ice Cream

One of my weekly routines is to sit down on a Sunday and go through the coupon flyer.  It makes me feel like an old grandma when I do it, but hey, I think I've proven via this blog that I like deals.  Most of the time, the coupons are garbage for stuff that I don't need, but as I was thumbing through recently, I found a coupon for Edy's ice cream and that coupon leads me to another Edy's review with this Edy's Slow Churned French Silk Light Ice Cream that I picked up on sale for $2.50 for a 1.5 quart container.  Since this is Slow Churned and thus lighter, it has 130 calories per serving and the container has roughly twelve half-cup servings of ice cream.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Egg Nog Light Ice Cream

To add on to this morning's review of one of Edy's seasonal limited time offerings, I've got this afternoon post of another one of these offerings with this review of Edy's Slow Churned Egg Nog Light Ice Cream as opposed to the multiple review that I've seen of the full power version of this.  I do this because I'm at least attempting to continue the guise of this being a somewhat healthy-ish blog.  Like the last, I picked this up at Marsh on sale for $2.50 for a 1.5 quart container.  Since it is light ice cream, it has a relatively modest 100 calories per serving and there's twelve servings per container.  One thing to note about this Egg Nog ice cream is that I personally despised Egg Nog when I was a kid, so the kid in my dreads this review.  When I got older and was introduced to Egg Nog with alcohol in it, well, let's just say that my opinion of Egg Nog changed, so the adult in me is very much looking forward to this review.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Peppermint Light Ice Cream

I think I've mentioned on this blog before that I used to keep a bag of peppermint candies in my desk and I would go through about a bag a week since I was so addicted to them.  Despite my love of peppermint candies, I've oddly never been a huge fan of peppermint flavored food products.  I know, that's strange.  Regardless, I've seen a lot of people reviewing the full power version of this seasonal, limited time offering, so I decided to add another review of an Edy's product with a slightly different spin in that I'll be reviewing the light ice cream version of the seasonal offering with this review of the Edy's Slow Churned Peppermint Light Ice Cream that I picked up on sale at Marsh for $2.50 for a 1.5 quart container.  Edy's (or Dreyer's in your area perhaps) Slow Churned line is half the fat and one third the calories of the full power ice creams, so this checks in at a fairly decent 100 calories per half-cup serving (twelve per container).  It's almost as if you aren't even eating dessert.  Okay, well maybe not.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Nestle Drumstick Sundae Cone Light Ice Cream

In my previous Edy's review, I explained the difference between why these are referred to as Edy's products in some areas and Dreyer's products in other areas, so I'll just spare you the boredom on that again and get right down to the business of reviewing this product after I get through these quick product details.  I picked this Edy's Slow Churned Nestle Drumstick Sundae Cone Light Ice Cream up at Kroger on sale for $2.99 for a 1.5 quart container.  Each container has about twelve half-cup servings and each serving comes in at around 120 calories.

Review: Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Fudge Tracks Light Ice Cream

Edy's is known as Dreyer's in some parts of the country (thus the two names in the review) and instead of going into a big long explanation, I'll just leave it to Wikipedia to explain why since it never lies.  Regardless, both of them are owned by Nestle.  Anyway, in 2005, Dreyer's/Edy's created their Slow Churned line of desserts that use nonfat milk and only a splash of cream to create a light ice cream that is half the fat and one-third the calories of traditional ice creams.  Healthy ice cream?  Well, not really, but the reduced calorie factor is certainly what got me interested in purchasing this Edy's Slow Churned Fudge Tracks Light Ice Cream at CVS on sale for $2.75.  Each 1.5 quart container has roughly twelve half-cup servings and each serving is 120 calories, so while not a "healthy" ice cream because no such thing exists, it is a "healthier" ice cream in the fact that it has fewer calories.
