Review: Steve's Paleo Goods PaleoChef Ketchup

I've mentioned in my prior Steve's Paleo Goods reviews that they were kind enough to send me a box of free samples.  Within that box was a product that I've been kind of terrified to review because of my prior experiences with people trying to make ketchup more "healthy" or what not.  Now, I've mentioned before that I have an unrequited love for ketchup.  It's one of my favorite things in the world and I'll put it on anything...eggs, fries, fried chicken, pizza crust, hot dogs, hamburgers, crackers, vegetables, eat it straight out of a spoon, etc.  Basically, my ketchup love knows no bounds.  Anyway, past bad experiences and my high esteem for ketchup made me fearful of this bottle of Steve's Paleo Goods PaleoChef Ketchup, but ultimately life is about overcoming your fears, so here we are with today's review.  This bottle comes in at twelve ounces and has 24 servings (a half ounces per serving obviously) and each serving comes in at 15 calories.

Review: KIND Strong & Kind Honey Mustard Almond Protein Bar

Generally, I like KIND bars and have shown in that in my numerous reviews.  On a recent trip to Kroger, I noticed they had introduced a new line of bars that seemed like they were focusing on savory types of ingredients and while intrigued, I admit that I was kind of afraid.  I typically like my snack bars to be of the sweet variety, so savory didn't quite jive with me.  Still, I was curious to give them a shot so that leads me to this review of this KIND Strong & Kind Honey Mustard Almond Protein Bar that I was able to pick up for $1.25.  Each gluten free bar is 1.5 ounces with 230 calories and ten grams of protein, for the record.

Review: Gorton's Grilled Fillets Lemon Pepper Fillets

Because of this blog, there are a lot of types of foods out there that I either didn't like or had never tried before that I have tried as part of my exploration into new foods and things.  One of those things, for example is Greek yogurt.  Another thing that I never liked before but have now made a habit of trying is seafood products.  Because of this, I've done several reviews of Gorton's Grilled Fillet products and that leads me to another review of one of those products with this review of the Gorton's Grilled Fillets Lemon Pepper Fillets.  I picked up this box of fillets at Meijer on sale for $3.00 and each box includes two 3.8 ounce fillets that clock in with 90 calories and sixteen grams of protein per fillet.  The box does not give a good indication of what this is a fillet of, but when you look at the ingredients, you'll come to find out that this is Alaskan Pollock.

Review: MorningStar Farms Chik'n Strips Meal Starters

It's been a bit since I've either eaten or reviewed a MorningStar Farms product.  Recently, I had some tortilla wraps in my refrigerator that I had to use prior to the expiration date, so I figured that grabbing one of the bags of MorningStar Farms Chik'n Strips Meal Starters that I had in my refrigerator would be the perfect way to come up with a base starter for the filling in my wraps that I was making.  I picked this one up on sale at Marsh for $3.00 and it's an eight ounce package proclaiming it has roughly 2.5 servings of these veggie "Chick'n" strips.  Each serving has 140 calories and a whopping 23 grams of protein.  It's also cholesterol free, so this really is a fairly healthy product and as I read more and more of the packaging, I was exceptionally surprised by that.

Review: Quaker Popped Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper Rice Snacks

Editor's Note:  While the product has stayed the same, Quaker now markets these under a different named and they are now called "Quaker Popped Rice Snacks." The review below applies the same.

Another Quaker Quakes review!  Yahoo!  This Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper flavor was purchased at Meijer on sale for $1.00 (I had a shopping car full of all these different Quakes when I made them as part of a bulk purchase of all their flavors one day).  These are 130 calories per serving (about three per bag), so they fall in the upper end of the calorie count chart in comparison to the other Quakes.
