Review: South Beach Diet Good to Go Cinnamon Raisin Bar


These South Beach Diet bars are something that I've seen in the store many times but have always stayed away from because I've always considered them a fad and also because they were ridiculously expensive.  Okay, I'm kidding myself...I don't care about the fad part...I just didn't want to pay for something that I deemed as expensive.  That said, on a recent trip to Meijer, they had a box of five of these South Beach Diet Good to Go Cinnamon Raisin Bars marked down to $1.99 and believing that to be an excellent price, I knew I had to grab the box off the shelf for my first try at one of their bars.  Each bar in the box is 1.23 ounces and 130 calories with nine grams of protein and three grams of fiber.  It has no artificial flavors or sweeteners and  is also made of whole grains, so it's got all that health kick going for it.  It's also got a new and improved taste, which means nothing to me since I've never had the old taste, but if they are going to advertise it, I'd assume that it is a good thing.  Another thing about these bars (and the diet) is that they are built on the principle of "Strategic Snacking", which means that you are supposed to use these as well-timed snacks to keep you energized and satisfied while on the run.  I wasn't on the run, but I was looking to get satisfied (as always), so one I go with the review...
