Review: Cascadian Farm Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter Granola Bars

I mentioned in my initial Cascadian Farm review, that I was sent several samples of their new Crunchy line of granola bars to try out and it's that list of samples that leads me to do another review of their organic and limited ingredient granola with this review of the Cascadian Farm Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter Granola Bars.  Like the last box, this comes with five packages of bars and each package contains two bars.  The total weight for each package is 1.42 ounces and combined nutritional counts are 190 calories and four grams of protein.  Since these are limited ingredient granola bars, they contain less processed ingredients and in the case of these bars, there are seven ingredients (rolled oats, sugar, sunflower oil, peanut butter, tapioca syrup, salt and molasses).

Based on the name of this bar, I wasn't expecting a whole lot taking this out of the packaging and let's just say that my expectations were met.  The bars were a crumbly form of granola topped with a thin peanut butter layer that smelled more of a salty variety of peanut butter than it did a sweet variety of peanut butter.  Outside of that peanut butter icing look/smell, there wasn't much else to this bar than typical granola, so I'll just move on.

The taste was pretty spartan, much like the look of this bar.  The primary component here was crunchy granola with a hint of peanut butter.  It wasn't a salty peanut butter, but it was fairly bland, which was fine.  The peanut butter in this instance was more of a supporting actor to the lead actor of the granola in the case of this bar and that's fine because ultimately, this is a granola bar and that's the main selling point and should be the main flavor.  Anything else is just gravy, so to speak.  The gravy in this instance, the peanut butter, had decent flavor and certainly did not take anything away from the entire equation.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Nothing bad, nothing offensive and a pretty tasty bar, so this gets a BUY IT rating.  Outside of that, there's nothing else that is really worth talking about here.  I'm certainly grateful to receive this as a free sample because it was tasty and if you see this in the store and pick on up on your own, I think you'd find this to be tasty as well.

BUY IT!!
