Review: JELL-O Thick & Rich Chocolate Milkshake Pudding Snacks

JELL-O pudding intrigues me, as you could probably tell if you've seen how frequently I've reviewed it here on the blog.  What really intrigues me about it is how they seem to hold certain flavors for certain stores.  For example, I've never seen the Boston Cream Pie flavor at any other store buy Meijer.  Today's review is another one of those instances where I can only find it at one store locally (so far, it is a Limited Edition after all).  So, on a recent trip to Marsh, I picked up this seemingly exclusive four pack of JELL-O Thick & Rich Chocolate Milkshake Pudding Snacks for $2.39.  These are so limited and so exclusive that JELL-O doesn't even have room for them on their site.  Anyway, each cup is 3.875 ounces and packs in 110 calories per cup.

Opening this up, there's really not a lot to look at.  It's basically just chocolate.  It was thick, but I didn't find it to be any more or less thick than the typical sugared JELL-O pudding snacks.  It was a bit lighter colored than the chocolate flavor of the regular pudding, but it did carry the chocolate smell that you'd expect.  I guess you could say that since it was a bit lighter colored, it at least mirrored a chocolate milkshake from an appearance perspective.  I supposed that's a win if you want to score it that way.

From a flavor perspective, I can't really say a lot other than it tastes like chocolate.  Well, it tastes like a lighter and milkier version of chocolate.  So, I guess that means that it is like a milkshake in one perspective.  It's missing the iciness of a milkshake (obviously), but the flavor is pretty close to something that I'd pick up at a drive thru or an ice cream shop.  I guess that is a win too.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Nothing about this thrilled me, but since this was a semi-reasonable facsimile of what it intended to be and I already scored it with two wins, I am kind of required to give it a BUY IT rating, don't you think?  That would be pretty lame if I scored two wins and then an overall loss.  Anyway, don't expect to have your socks knocked off by this, but if you somehow find this limited edition item in one of your stores and are curious, this might be worth picking up.

BUY IT!!
