Review: Dannon Light & Fit Greek Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt

This cup of Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt that I picked up for today's review seems to be a seasonal offering.  Not sure what season it is focused on, but if I had to venture a guess based on the packaging design, I'd guess winter.  Still, there's not really a good indication anywhere for me to see so I'll just have to wing it.  Anyway, the enormous Dannon review collection adds another one with this single serving cup of Dannon Light & Fit Greek Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt that I picked up at Kroger for $1.00.  It's clearly denoted as 80 calories on the packaging and within those eighty calories are twelve grams of protein.  This is also gluten free for those of you out there attempting to live a gluten free living.

Opening this up, there's not a lot to look at.  It's a light tan colored Greek yogurt that was notably thick.  It had a slight smell of caramel, but nothing overly potent or outrageously noticeable.  Basically, this presentation was boring...right even down to the tan coloring, which may only be surpassed by the color gray in terms of boring colors to look it.

The flavor of this was just about as bland as the presentation.  Sure, there was a hint of non-sweet caramel flavor and there was some saltiness (minimal) at the back of each spoonful, but it was basically just a somewhat caramel flavored spin on a very thick Greek yogurt.  Quite honestly, it was kind of weird.  It also was quite dry and did not have that creamy, cooling flavor that Greek yogurts always have, with the milky and creamy texture.  Not sure if the salted portion of this was the reason for that, but was truly missing here.

Buy It or Fly By It?  In the grand scheme of things, there was nothing wrong with this but it was far too boring for me to actually encourage others to go out and purchase this so it gets a FLY BY IT rating.  Save your money for something that's not nearly as boring and will provide a positive eating experience.

FLY BY IT!!
