Review: Van's Natural Foods Nacho, Nacho, Man! Gluten Free Multigrain Chips

The Van's Natural Foods free sample gravy train continues (for me).  Today, in my second review, I'll be taking a look at something in an entirely different product line than the original review with my look at this bag of Van's Natural Foods Nacho, Nacho Man! Gluten Free Multigrain Chips.  Cute name, eh?  I'm not one that is a big fan of the Village People, but I do have a sense of humor (I think), so I can appreciate the play on words.  Anyway, this bag comes in at a total weight of 5.5 ounces and within that bag, there are five servings of multigrain chips that are about 130 calories per serving.

As you can see from the imagery on the bag, there's not a whole lot to describe with these chips.  They are a basic baked-style (thin) chip covered in a dusting of cheese.  They smelled like nacho cheese, so they definitely fit with in the Village People-esque name.  My bag had a lot of broken and crumbled chips, but that was probably a result of my local UPS delivery and not the actual chips themselves (although they were brittle since they were synonymous with baked chips).  Those are minimal observations, but that's all there really is to say.

I had minimal physical observations and I have minimal flavor observations as well.  These tasted like a nacho cheese baked chip.  They nacho cheese flavoring was absolutely present, but it wasn't overwhelmingly powerful or weak in any way.  It was just a solid performer.  One thing that was funny about these is that they behaved just like I'd think a nacho cheese chip would behave since my fingers were covered in nacho cheese dust after I was finished eating them (like a slob), so that was fun.

Buy It or Fly By It?  These were pretty basis, but like I said, they were a solid performer that delivered as I'd expect and want them to, so they get a BUY IT rating.  Nothing about these could be classified as wonderful in terms of flavor, but if natural foods are you thing and you don't want the manufactured chips like a lot of the major labels will give you, this is a more than viable alternative.  They even have an amusing name to boot, so win-win!

BUY IT!!
