Review: Mrs. Fields Double Chocolate Fudge Nibblers Cookies

I mentioned in my previous review that Mrs. Fields sent me a box of three different flavors of cookies that they'd be using for their foray into the grocery products industry and that review got a very positive results.  It was off of that positive result that I was anxious to dive into another review...wait...who am I kidding?  I was anxious to dive into another review because I LOVE cookies.  So, today I'm going to take a look at this box of Mrs. Fields Double Chocolate Fudge Nibblers Cookies.  Each box contains fifteen bite-sized, fudge-dipped and soft-baked cookies and a serving (two cookies) will set you back 120 calories.

As you can see, these Nibblers look substantially different than the last traditional chocolate chip cookie that I reviewed.  That should come as no surprise since these are double chocolate, which obviously means that the cookie itself is a chocolate cookie for the single chocolate and then the double chocolate is the presence of the chocolate fudge coating and chips within the cookie.  It should also come as no surprise that this smelled overwhelmingly of chocolate being that it was overloaded with chocolate and the little white "drops" (that's what they were called on the ingredient list) of chocolate in the cookie had all the components of white chocolate to just continue to add to the chocolate motif.

When I took my first bite, which was difficult since this was bite sized, I was immediately struck by the presence of chocolate.  While that is ordinarily a good thing, I wasn't quite sure what to think about this one because there was so much rich, sweet and decadent chocolate here that I didn't know how to respond.  On one hand, this is a chocolate lover's delight.  On the other hand, one of the beautiful things about a chocolate chip cookie is that it has vanilla and brown sugar to play off the chocolate.  This cookie did not have that, so it was just all chocolate, all the time.  That said, the chocolate cookie and the melting chocolate coating (and chips) were still tasty.

Buy It or Fly By It?  While I enjoyed eating this, I missed the fact that there was nothing to play off the chocolate like I mentioned previously.  That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed this cookie and give it a BUY IT rating.  If you were looking for a total chocolate fix and overload as I sometimes am, this would absolutely be a great option that I would recommend to all.

BUY IT!!
