Seriously, with a name like this product has, how could I possible resist not grabbing this off the shelf? I mean, how great is the brand name here? It is absolutely classic! Anyway, I saw this baby on the shelves of my local Meijer for $1.25 and I knew that I had to have this OhYeah! Chocolate & Caramel Bar, along with another that I'll be reviewing later. This particular bar came in at 1.59 ounces with 190 calories and fifteen grams of protein.
I always love it when I unwrap a bar that is supposed to be healthy and it looks like a candy bar. That was definitely the case with this as I unwrapped it, broke it in half and immediately thought I was looking at a candy bar. To use a corny joke, my immediate thought to that was "Oh Yeah!" Anyway, the bar itself was composed of a nougat-like interior wrapped by a thin layer of sticky caramel. The bar itself was then ensconced with a layer of chocolate that had a ton of peanuts in the mix.
Biting into this was pretty much a euphoric experience as again, nothing about this said healthy bar. This was a candy bar all the way in my mind. Chewy nougat interior with a gooey caramel wrapping that stuck to my teeth and provided a dense sweetness. That was then coated by the tame flavored chocolate, but because of the sweetness of the caramel, the tame sweetness actually worked really well in this. The peanuts added great and constant crunch to this, so this was crunchy, gooey and chewy all at once. One could even say that this hit for the cycle in terms of textures.
Buy It or Fly By It? I'm going to get corny with the name again...OH YEAH this would get a BUY IT rating because this was delicious. Despite the fact that this is supposedly healthy, this said candy bar all the way and if you can disguise "health" that way, you have got a knock it out of the park winner in my book. If your store has these on the shelf, you would be entirely remiss if you did not grab this. Needless to say, I'm very anxious to try out the other flavor that I grabbed in the same shopping trip.
