Review: Nature Valley Vanilla Yogurt Chewy Granola Bar

I admit, the thought of doing another Nature Valley review and especially one on this product seemed kind of boring to me. You might even say that it sounded vanilla. Okay, I admit, that was a HORRIBLE attempt at humor. Anyway, my bad humor aside, let's get crackin' on this review if the Nature Valley Vanilla Yogurt Chewy Granola Bar. I got this one at work so it was free, but I know that a box of these runs in the $3.00-$4.00 range at my local stores. This bar measures up at 1.2 ounces and has 140 calories with a minute two grams of protein.

Review: Kashi GOLEAN Crunchy! Chocolate Almond Bar

Love 'em, hate 'em, yada, yada, yada...I've written this same intro about my tumultuous history with Kashi reviews before.  So, in lieu of writing the same intro again, I'll just hop right into the review of this Kashi GOLEAN Crunchy! Chocolate Almond Bar that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $1.00.  It is 1.59 ounces and has eight grams of protein and five grams of fiber.  Basically, that means that it's going to fill you up and eventually empty you out.  Fun times.

Review: YoCrunch Apple Pie Parfait with Cinna-Crunch

Like I've mentioned every now and then on the blog, I'll occasionally be meandering through my local store just wasting time and something that I've never seen before will somehow attract my attention and I'll just become mesmerized by it and throw it in my cart.  That was the case with this YoCrunch Apple Pie Parfait with Cinna-Crunch that I saw recently on sale at my local Kroger for $2.99 for a four pack of 4.0 ounce cups.  Each cup is 110 calories and is made with real apples and cinnamon.  This also is fat free, has no artificial sweeteners or colors, so all of that makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Review: Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants Dark Chocolate Almond Bars

Who doesn't need a little fiber in their life?  Some people need it more than others and whether I need extra fiber is neither here nor there, but I do like to eat snack bars and that lead's me to another review of a Kellogg's product with this review of these Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants Dark Chocolate Almond Bars that I picked up at Marsh in a box of five on sale for $2.99.  Each bar is 1.2 ounces, has 130 calories and a minimal two grams of protein.  While the protein is minimal, the fiber is not as this bar contains 35% of the typical 2,000 calorie diet's fiber.  Nice, I guess.

Review: Good Humor Reese's Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cup Eggs

I've gotten free food offers at random several times in the history of this blog.  One thing I've never gotten is an offer of free products in that correlate with a calendar event.  With that said, it's time for an Limited Edition Easter themed review with this first review of a Good Humor product with this box of Good Humor Reese's Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cup Eggs.  Each box has six egg-shaped bars and each bar is three fluid ounces and 240 calories.  Basically, it's the same thing as the typical bar that Good Humor produces, with the exception that they've re-shaped this one to celebrate the season.

Review: Cascadian Farm Organic Trail Mix Vanilla Almond Cherry Bars

Before it's all said and done, I might end up buying a part of Cascadian Farms.  I mean, the first sent me free products and then I started buying their products at the store on my own, so the next logical step would be to buy a part of the company, right?  Okay, that might be a bit much. I think I'll just stick to reviews and that leads me to this review of the Cascadian Farm Organic Trail Mix Vanilla Almond Cherry Bars that I picked up on sale at Kroger in a box of five bars for $2.99.  Each bar is 1.2 ounces, has 130 calories and also a small two grams of protein.

Review: Skinny Cow Strawberry Shortcake Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches

So, after a long week, it's finally time to wrap up my adventure of reviews with this final Skinny Cow (for now) review of the Skinny Cow Strawberry Shortcake Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches that I picked up at the same Marsh mega sale as the rest of this week's reviews for $3.99.  Each box of includes six four fluid ounce sandwiches and each sandwich is 150 calories and worth a four point ding on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale.

Review: Skinny Cow Caramel Truffle Low Fat Ice Cream Bars

There's a work saying that goes "another day, another dollar" and that's the way I feel with these Skinny Cow reviews. It's another day, so it's time to do another review of this Skinny Cow Caramel Truffle Low Fat Ice Cream Bars. One by-product of this review week is that while the cow may be skinny, Crazy Food Dude is becoming decreasingly less so after eating all of these. Anyway, I picked this box of six bars up at the aforementioned Marsh super sale for $3.99. Each bar is 2.65 fluid ounces and a very economical 100 calories. It's also a three-pointer on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale.

Review: Skinny Cow Salted Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream Bars

I'm sure most of you have figured it out already, but I've decided that this is Skinny Cow review week.  I've reviewed three products already this week and now it's time for the fourth product that I picked up in the crazy Skinny Cow sale at my local Marsh for $3.99.  This time, I'm taking a look at another one of their ice cream candy bar lines with this review of the Skinny Cow Salted Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream Bars.  Each box contains five 2.1 fluid ounce bars and each bar is 160 calories and scores a four on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale.

Review: Skinny Cow Snickerdoodle Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches

Continuing my Skinny Cow binge, I picked up another one of their limited edition products for a review when I was at my local Marsh Supermarket.  This time, I'm taking a look at the Skinny Cow Snickerdoodle Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches that picked up at the sale price of $3.99, just like all the other products that you'll see this week.  This box has six sandwiches and each sandwich is four fluid ounces with 140 calories and scores a four on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale.  Snickerdoodles are an interesting cookie as they are a mix of cinnamon and oatmeal (a wonderful and classic combination), to me, so I was very curious to see how this would turn out in ice cream sandwich form.

Review: Skinny Cow Chocolate Peanut Butter Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches

As I mentioned in my last Skinny Cow review, I had quite a sale adventure at my local Marsh Supermarket. I brought up that the best time to buy Skinny Cow products is when they are on sale because they are often overpriced for what you are getting.  As part of that sale adventure, I picked up this box of Skinny Cow Chocolate Peanut Butter Low Fat Ice Cream Sandwiches for that same sale price of $3.99.  Within each box are six sandwiches that come in at 4.0 fluid ounces and 150 calories each.  It's worth four points on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale as well.

Review: Skinny Cow Cookies 'n Dough Ice Cream Candy Bars

I would describe my relationship with Skinny Cow products as tortured.  Ordinarily, I find their treats to be tasty, but a lot of the times, I can't quite reconcile the price I'm paying for what I'm getting.  That said, I was recently at my local Marsh Supermarket and saw the perfect time to pick up Skinny Cow products...they were on sale (along with an additional coupon)!  With that sale and coupon, I picked up this box of their new  Skinny Cow Cookies 'n Dough Ice Cream Candy Bars at the sale price of $3.99 for a box of five.  Each bar is 2.1 fluid ounces and has 160 calories with a four point rating on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus scale, so it's not a belly buster and that's obviously what you'd expect from a "skinny" product.

Review: Cascadian Farm Organic Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

The whole purpose of companies passing out freebies sometimes is to generate interest for their company and/or a new product.  Cascadian Farm did this to me with some freebies that led to prior reviews and now, for the first time, I've spent some of my own money to pick up one of their products since the freebies got me so interested in their products.  That interest leads me to this review of the Cascadian Farm Organic Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $2.99.  Each box of these contains eight 0.78 ounce bars and each bar is 80 calories.  Each bar is also marketed as kid sized, but when you really look at this, these are just about the same size as Quaker's famous Chewy granola bars.  This flavor that I'm looking at today is also one of Quaker's most popular flavors as well, so it's a good comparison and regretfully, those two mentions aren't the first time in this review that you'll be seeing me compare to the two.

Review: Walden Farms French Onion Dip

If you've spent any time reading this blog, you'd know that it is no secret that I have written a lot of reviews on Walden Farms products.  What can I say...I love the whole idea of calorie free foods, although that may not be 100% truthful.  Regardless, my quest for more and more calorie free foods led me to make another order from Netrition.com where I picked up this jar of Walden Farms French Onion Dip for $3.99.  It's twelve ounces and is of course calorie free.  I can say though that a product modeling itself after a dip that is a party mainstay makes me exceptionally curious to try it out.

Review: Corazona's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Square

Frequent readers of the blog will know that sometimes I get repetitive on the manufacturers that I review because I pick things up in bulk. I've been trying to avoid that recently and branch out into new products and its that effort that leads me to this Corazona's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Square. I picked it up on sale at Kroger for $1.00 and it comes in at 1.76 ounces and 190 calories with six grams of protein.  It's also all natural, so it's got that "healthy" thing going for it too. Well, as healthy as something can be when it contains chocolate chips, I guess.

Review: Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants Peanut Protein Chewy Bars

As the protein bar wars continue with seemingly everyone jumping in, I'm led to yet another review of one of Kellogg's attempts at joining the fray by extending their typical FiberPlus Antioxidants line to also include heavy protein.  With that attempt, I picked up a box of five of these pretty basic sounding Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants Peanut Protein Chewy Bars at Marsh on sale for $2.99 leading to another review.  Each bar in the box is 1.41 ounces and has 170 calories, ten grams of protein and since it's a fiber bar as well, it also has seven grams of fiber.

Review: Kashi GOLEAN Crisp! Chocolate Caramel Bar

Kashi and I haven't been the greatest of friends on this blog, but I'm a sucker for a sale and since I saw Kashi bars on sale at Kroger recently for $1.00, I knew I had to grab a couple of bars to try out, despite some of my past experiences with the bar.  This bar, the Kashi GOLEAN Crisp! Chocolate Caramel Bar, comes in at 1.59 ounces with 150 calories and eight grams of protein.  It's also got a cute tagline on the wrapper with a disclaimer that states "Stay Full Longer*"  I work for a company that LOVES disclaimers, so anytime I see one, I always chuckle.  In this case, the Kashi disclaimer says that they intend for you to stay full longer by providing a mix of protein and fiber, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will stay full longer.  Ah, lawyers...gotta love 'em, eh?

Review: Klondike Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream Bars

One of the first reviews that I did around the birth of this blog was a review on a No Sugar Added Klondike bar.  It was linked by The Impulsive Buy and still remains one of my most trafficked posts of all time.  For whatever reason, I've never done a follow-up Klondike review despite the fact that I see and am interested in Klondike products all the time.  On a recent store visit to Meijer, I finally took the plunge during one of their sales and picked up a box of six of these Klondike Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream Bars on sale for $2.50.  Each bar in the box is 3.0 grams and has a robust (for its size) 270 calories.  That may seem like a lot and it sort of is, but it is comparable to an average serving of most Ben & Jerry's ice cream products.  When you look at it that way, it doesn't seem as bad.  Well, that's at least the logic I'm using to justify eating this to myself.  When I do a bit more reading on the website, I come to find out that the ice cream in this is light ice cream and it only has 130 calories, which isn't horrible at all.  As always, it's the toppings/add-ins that kill you with this to the tune of 140 calories.  Another interesting thing I found while reading the website is that you can make a shake out of these and there's a recipe on how to do it.  Interesting and being that this is a six-pack, that is definitely something to consider.

Review: Nature Valley Crunchy Apple Crisp Granola Bars

For the most part, Nature Valley granola products are very simple.  They take their standard granola mix, add in a few different flavor components and call it a day.  Some might think that makes their products all the same, but there are subtle differences and that's why I do reviews on them, which leads me to this review of the Nature Valley Crunchy Apple Crisp Granola Bars.  I picked up a box of these for $2.99 on sale at Meijer and each box contains six packs of bars, in which there are two bars per pack.  Each pack is 1.5 ounces, 160 calories and has three grams of protein and sixteen grams of whole grain, so you can do the math to figure out the specifics per each individual bar if you are so inclined.

Review: Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruit Crunch Granola Bars Apple Cobbler

I already took a first look at one of Kellogg's new product offerings in their Nutri-Grain Fruit Crunch line when I looked at the Strawberry Parfait variety.  Expanding upon that review, it's now time to take a look at another flavor from that same product line with this box of Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Fruit Crunch Granola Bars Apple Cobbler.  I picked up a box of ten bars (five two-bar packages) of these along with the others at Marsh on sale for $2.99.  Each two-bar package is 1.48 ounces, has 190 calories with a small three grams of protein.  These bars are made with real fruit, so that's exciting I guess.

Review: Cascadian Farm Crunchy Oats & Cocoa Granola Bars

I've mentioned previously that Cascadian Farm graciously sent me a care package of products to review and this is the last review out of that care package.  Previously, I've found their products to be fairly basic, yet still tasty and have been fond of them all.  Hoping to keep that victory streak alive, that leads me to this review of the Cascadian Farm Crunchy Oats & Cocoa Granola Bars.  They come in boxes of five pouches with two granola bars per pouch.  Each pouch is 1.42 ounces and has 190 calories and four grams of protein.  One things about this flavor that differed from the other granola bar flavors is that this bar was made up of nine ingredients as opposed to the seven from the prior reviews.  If you are interested, those ingredients are oats, sugar, sunflower oil, cracked cacao, tapioca syrup, cocoa powder, sea salt, molasses and vanilla extract.

Review: Sunbelt Bakery Golden Almond Chewy Granola Bars

Sunbelt Bakery is a product manufacturer that I found out about by accident.  I had never heard of them until one day they were passing out some of their granola bars in my office snack time and that led to a prior review.  Since then, I've seen their products in several stores and on a recent stroll through Walmart, I saw what I deemed to be a crazy good deal where I could get a box of ten of these Sunbelt Bakery Golden Almond Chewy Granola Bars for $2.00.  Each box in the bar is 1.0 ounces and has 130 calories with a minimal two grams of protein.  Sunbelt Bakery's whole spiel is that they have bakery-fresh taste, so I'll obviously put that claim to the test.

Review: JELL-O Temptations Key Lime Pie Pudding

I've shared the fact that I'm addicted to JELL-O pudding in the plethora of prior reviews here on the blog.  On the other hand, I'm not so addicted to their Temptations products and those have been kind of hit or miss in my book. Seeing a new (to me) flavor of the Temptations line in the store recently prompted me to pick up this four pack of JELL-O Temptations Key Lime Pudding that was on sale at Kroger for $2.49.  Each pudding cup is  four ounces and also 80 calories.  Now, I'll be the first to admit that while I find Key Lime Pie to be alright, it's not one of my favorite things in the world, but I'm almost always willing to try out new things because sometimes thing surprise me with how good then end up being.  Hopefully that'll be the case with this pudding cup.

Review: Honey P. Nutty Cranberry PB Bar

I mentioned in my previous Honey P. Nutty post that they had sought me out and sent me a box of bars to try out for free and it's that box that leads me to this second review of the Honey P. Nutty Cranberry PB Bar.  This one comes in at 1.8 ounces and has 217 calories and six grams of protein.  It's gluten free and after I took a look at the label, it is homemade of only six ingredients, so that was quite nice and very natural, so to speak.  Those six ingredients included peanuts, dried cranberries, honey, cornmeal, sea salt and vanilla, in case you were interested.

Review: Fiber One Oats & Strawberries Chewy Bar

A few months ago, Fiber One only had a sporadic presence on this blog.  Since then, there have been a ton of sales in my local store and now they've got a pretty extensive presence through various reviews that I've done.  It's another one of those sales that led me to pick up a box of five of these Fiber One Oats & Strawberries Chewy Bars at Kroger for $2.49.  Each bar is 1.4 ounces and contains 140 calories and two grams of protein and nine grams of fiber.  That's 35% of your daily fiber intake if you were wondering.

Review: Breyers Blasts! Birthday Blast Frozen Dairy Dessert

In general, I like the Breyers Blasts! line of products quite a bit and have had lots of success with them.  The Blasts! line is right up my alley as in most cases, I choose add-ins over overall flavor of the ice cream (or in this case, frozen dairy dessert).  Since Blasts! are all about add-ins, that makes them a big winner.  Seeing a new flavor in the freezer case at my local Kroger, along with a Breyers sale, I decided to pick up this 1.5 quart container of Breyers Blasts! Birthday Blast Frozen Dairy Dessert on sale for $2.99.  It's a fairly economical 130 calories per serving and it's twelve half-cup servings per container.
