Review: Lenny & Larry's Triple Chocolate Muscle Brownie

I've had a lot of fun with these Lenny & Larry's muscle brownies in prior reviews.  Not only does the packaging itself crack me up, but I find the flavor of these to be particularly delightful.  Despite the fact that the subject of today's review is not really all that sexy of a flavor combination at first glance, I was very excited to dive in to this Lenny & Larry's Triple Chocolate Muscle Brownie based solely on the fact that I've had so much fun with these so far.  I picked this up at Kroger for $1.67 and the brownie itself is two servings (again, I find this hilarious) and each serving is 1.41 ounces with 170 calories and ten grams of protein.

With a product that carries the triple chocolate handle, it should come as no surprise that there are three different presentations of chocolate within the brownie itself.  The base of the brownie is just a standard chocolate mix, albeit with some added mix-ins to crank up the protein level.  Within that standard chocolate brownie mix are a fair amount of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Finally, to top off the brownie for the trifecta of chocolate, is a decorative (maybe) chocolate swirl.  Three types of chocolate presentation = Triple Chocolate.  One other thing of note is that this had an intense chocolate smell that also carried a strong sugary smell as well.  Being that I'm a chocolate and sugar freak, I was very turned on by that.

As I took my first bite, I was a bit surprised as this brownie had a tougher texture to it than the previous muscle brownies that I've tried out, but once I took a couple of chews that tough texture dissipated quickly and this became very chewy, kind of like raw cookie dough.  It tasted like a grainy raw chocolate cookie dough as well in that it was both sweet and had the occasional pop provided by the semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Being that eating raw cookie dough out of the tube was a vice (an unhealthy one at that) of my childhood, I very much enjoyed being transported back to those memories as I made my way through a serving of this brownie.  The chocolate flavor in the total package was sweet and decadent and that was certainly a positive add-on to the cookie dough type of flavor.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Like the others, this muscle brownie was absolutely delicious, so it gets a BUY IT rating.  This is a chocolate lover's delight and being that I am one of those myself, I loved every bit of this.  It's not quite a brownie, but I'm not going to waste yours and my time arguing about the name of something that tastes as good as this.

BUY IT!!
