Review: Good Greens Plus Wildberry Bar

If you are a regular reader of the blog or click on this link, you'll know that Good Greens sent me samples of some of their products to try out and review for the blog.  Well, those samples have finally run out as I come to the final review with this review of the Good Green Plus Wildberry bar.  As with all Good Greens bars, it has enough fruits and veggies in its proprietary Z52 Superfood blend to make up 100% of your daily fruit and veggie requirements.  Pretty impressive.  As for the rest of this bar, it is 1.76 ounces, 190 calories and has ten grams of protein.

Outside of the Z52 blend, the primary ingredients in this bar are the wild berries, which in this case, consiste of blueberries and raspberries.  Those berries are of the dried variety and if you look closely enough, you can see little tiny bits of these berries spread throughout the interior mix of the bar.  Even if you can't see them, you can definitely smell them though because once I unwrapped this bar, I was welcomed with a wonderfully smell of tart smelling berries.  The rest of the bar consists of a healthy amount of rice crisps that are enrobed by a thin chocolate external layer.  This bar, just like the others, is also quite soft and breaks apart easily, although this one is more sticky than I remember the others being.  Maybe the berries (or their juices) caused some sort of reaction.  Who knows.

Anyway, biting into this bar,  it had quite a pleasant taste.  The taste of the berries was noticeable and pleasant, but not all that strong and was more of a complimentary flavor that hit you at the back end of the bite.  At the front end of the bite was essentially just a chocolate-ish bite with a nice crunch provided by the plentiful rice crisps in the interior of the bar.  In fact, I believe that it is the rice crisps that save this bar because their crunchiness is enough to keep you interested in what is actually a doughy bar until the berry taste hits you at the back end of the bite.  All in all, it's not a strong tasting bar, but it is a very pleasant one.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Like I said, this is a mild and pleasant tasting bar and has enough berry flavor for me to safely qualify this one with a BUY IT rating.  Absent the crunch of the rice crisps, I'm not sure this bar works all that well.  But, since the rice crisps were there and brought a different texture to the bar, the whole package works well together.  This is yet another successful bar by Good Greens and they definitely deserve to be commended for that.  I'm glad that they contacted me initially and asked me to sample these because I would have never known about these bars had they not and finding out about them and eating them has definitely been a tasty experience.

BUY IT!!
