Review: Voskos Wild Blueberry Greek Yogurt

So the Greek yogurt tour through the Voskos brand continues.  I've already reviewed one of their flavors, but this next review leads me to the Voskos Wild Blueberry Greek Yogurt single serving cup.  As with the last review, I picked this one up on sale (at the same time) for $1.00 at Kroger.  The cup is 5.3 ounces and is 120 calories and twelve grams of protein.  It's also zero fat and gluten free, so there's all sorts of health benefits with this one.  Yippee!!

When I tore the lid off of this, I was expecting something a little different meaning that I was expecting plain yogurt with blueberries on the bottom of the cup.  Instead, I got what you see above which was a blueberry flavored yogurt with small blueberry bits spread throughout.  I've got to say that I was excited by that because I'm a bit tired of the fruit on the bottom thing.  I'm too lazy to do the mixing.  I want it to be done for me and Voskos has done that with this cup.  It was also quite thick and creamy, but not thick enough that it went stiff.  It still had a little jiggle to it.  Outside of the visual appearance, it carried a slightly tart and sweet smell along with it.

The slightly tart and slightly sweet taste also translated into the taste of this yogurt.  The first part of each spoonful carried the usual tang of Greek yogurt and the last part of each spoonful carried a sweet tang of blueberries.  It was a mild sweetness, but it was definitely noticeable that this was both a Greek yogurt and also a blueberry flavored yogurt and I appreciated that quite a bit.  I especially like that it was a strong tartness but wasn't punch in your face strong either way, which these cups can tend to be at times.

Buy It or Fly By It?  I often use the word "safe" to describe certain products and this yogurt cup definitely is that.  There's nothing wrong with being safe because products that I call safe get BUY IT ratings and that applies to this.  With this, you can expect blueberry and Greek yogurt and that's the goal of the whole thing, so Voskos has got a winner here.  That said, if you don't like tart, you might not like this.

BUY IT!!
